KB home team, very helpful, wonderful service!

Good service and very attentive

I really appreciated all the emails in the building process. Workmanship/Materials: I wish somethings would have been said about the time not being sealed prior to move in. I wish it was also said (if it is said then emphasized more) that the paint will be a matte as well. Both the sealing and the paint should at least be things that people can choose to upgrade through KB. I know everything can't be perfect but I do feel that the painting could have been done better (lots of little dots on my time). Also anything that I asked to be touched up was done, however now it is just as obvious. Trustworthiness: I also feel that it should be explained that if you don't have a realtor to represent you, then KB is just representing themselves which with any company that is not what is best for the customer. Obviously this would take money away from them so it won't happen with any builder. I had a lot of confusion when dealing with KB financial and feel they were talking around my questions to halfway answer so the outcome was best for them. Value I gave 4 because they are very expensive houses. I understand that is the going rate but I feel the sale price is nowhere close to the actual cost to build it. I feel KB definitely does not use the best products (paint company they use says that they water down the cheapest paint that they buy from them). This might be standard with all builders but does not make it "Great" quality. Responsiveness: Great responses prior and once purchased. The builders need to pay more attentions to the fine details. The use of some known brands seems attractive but not practical. double handle instead of single handle on faucets. Drain handle hide behind and set way too low for good looking but you need long and slender fingers to pull it up. missing screws etc. defects on the quartz counter top, punch thru brat nail tips at the base board almost cut my finger, toilet seat fastener cover automatic pop open due to engineering defects, hot and cold water outlet from wall to the pedestal can be seen while sitting at your toilet. we do not expect every single cement block be perfect but paying half a million dollar home, a few corner chipped cement block is not that expensive to pick a good looking one and safe the defective one for your home art works. front walkway bricks came off as you walk and step on it, near falling disaster on my mover. over all, KB has done an excellent job. I love my home. I wish there were more focus put on ensuring the quality of workmanship from start to finish and the presentation and cleanliness. Other than that, everyone was attentive and helpful to my concerns during the build process. I suggest improving customer service response time during the 30-90 days after move-in as this a critical time for the homeowners as they discover their new home and much of the information provided to them initially were more likely lost or forgotten. Understanding this and being available to homeowners is key to building trust and getting the five star rating. ... More

Home buying and sales office experience great. Seemed like they had a floor plan for any situation. Walkthrough/closing/key handover process is a bit confusing and not cool device to homebuyer. Blue tape from walkthrough removed even though items weren’t fixed.

Jim in sales and Dan on the construction side were fantastic to work with. They provided regular updates and delivered the house ahead of schedule.

Tom was great throughout the whole process from start to finish. He was always very responsive and eager to help solve any issues we were running into. For the sales team, Iman also was very responsive and tried to satisfy all of our needs. At first, we were not too pleased with the process, communication, and updates we were receiving. We voiced those feelings to Iman and she listened to what we had to say and went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our decision. We are still working through a few last hoops with their customer service and warranty department to get a few last things squared away, but the customer service team has also been very helpful. ... Experience was easy and the people were extremely helpful except for the lending experience.

Bring your realtor or trusted friend with construction and design knowledge along with you during different phases, and walk thru's. Make a list of items that need clarification (buyer and sales staff), get some trusted outside opinions.

The sales agent and Superintendent responded, answered, and solved my questions or concerns quickly.

Vanessa and Mike were incredible and truly made our experience wonderful. Vanessa explained things along the way and Mike always kept us up to date during the build. Both represented KB Homes very very well!

Great and welcoming! Helpful information and good responsiveness with staff. Sometimes it took a minute or an extra call/email for response but did get back to me with all my questions, and was always available. Workmanship and materials could use a bit of work but expected as a company building multiple houses at once. As a first time home buyer buying a new build, it was a great experience. Overall satisfied and happy with my buy. Thank you!

The home building process took way longer than originally anticipated. I believe this was due to supply issues. However, there were multiple KB home staff communicating with me throughout the process. Alex was responsive to my questions regarding the building timeline. He ensured that the design and decor that I requested was in place. The house looks amazing! Sean and Jennifer were proactive during the loan approval process and would answer any questions that I had. I appreciated the fact that they understood that I really wanted to become a homeowner and they helped make it happen!

The build is of good quality. There were some minor issues when moving in but were resolved promptly. With exception to an expensive water bill accrued because the irrigation valve was faulty, causing a small but expensive leak in the sprinkler system. I was hit with a $350 bill, that I have no choice to pay with the water district. Customer service was contacted and chose not to say say yes to doing the right thing. Apparently the warranty covers inside the home only. Working in the hospitality industry, we would have eaten the cost in order to preserve our reputation. However I believe KB is not entirely in accordance with its branding message “#1 in Customer Satisfaction”. KB and its lender will gain approx $800k between purchasing the home and interest accrued over 30 year loan. I would think that $275 would be something that could be written off, but I guess KB is solely interested in maximizing profit margins. At the expense of its customers. This is very unfortunate because the staff members I’ve worked with are wonderful dedicated professionals: Amber (realtor, who was very patient and kept us updated regularly ), Gina & Traci (loan officers, who were very patient in keeping us appraised) Paul (Superintendent, his easy going demeanor and passion for magic) & especially to Raymond (Asst Superintendent, whose gone above and beyond because he is Cleaner *read Relentless by Dwayne Grover) have been very professional and easy to work with. Buying a house to kbh over all is ok.

The homebuilding process was stressful as many new home buyers know. The loan process was the most stressful part. I felt like a lot of the documents we were giving were being lost and had to be redone a lot of the times. And the communication between the sales agent and loan officer was not well. I understand having to keep giving documents in order to continue the process for the loan, but to keep being told that documents were never received despite the email confirmation was frustrating. Jared, our sales agent was amazing. He kept us updated every week and met our needs whenever we needed. Jason, the superintendent of our home was also super helpful. My building supervisor, Nick is great. He has a great personality and is very patient. He listens to all my "concerns" and respond promptly. He even picks up his cell phone on weekend when I have a blown fuse in my kitchen and gave me advice. He had accommodate and assist me to change my initial walk through date when I had some oral surgery done in NY. I had a condo in NY LI area and my experience with KB home and Nick opens my eyes on how excellent builders respond to their customer after the sales. KB could write the text book on customer care. They truly earn their motto on "relationship building". I am impressed that a lot of employees purchase KB homes in the vicinity. This substantiate the quality of their work. An "insider" knows true quality. Overall my experience is extremely positive. It makes my 3000 miles move form LI to NV very worthwhile. I also want to mention Venessa who is my sales representative. Building experience was ok. Little attention to details with the finished product.
