The process was pretty simple and the timeline that was provided for our new bill to be finished was accurate. The sales office was always accommodating and welcoming, and honest about different questions we had including upgrades. Once the final walk-through was complete and we moved in, that’s when he realize the quality of work and craftsmanship left much to be desired. Overall, we felt slightly disappointed after moving into our new home. However, these are usually single-family starter homes so somewhat to be expected.

We bought from KBHomes due to the cheaper price compared to other builders but it was a definitely a "you get what you pay for" experience. The house just looked okay from afar but when you get closer and closer you see the poor work done, the inconsistencies, the broken stuff underneath the surface, etc.

I am not happy with material and painting

Needs improvement on the quality of finishings upon turnover making sure that everything is finished.Needs to update some options and designs for more modern customize look.Needs improvement on addressing issues un a tumely manner.

The finished product was sloppy, especially the paint job Roof was not complete at walkthrough

The value of the house was great, but the quality control of the workmanship was poor and responses to issues didn't get fix in a timely manner.

Homebuyers should keep in mind that they are not just buying but building the home of their dreams. As much as there is a Purchase Agreement, homebuyers should be more aware and should have a full understanding of what the terms truly are. There are provisions based on a timeline. However, if you are not 100% decided nor are you 100% satisfied with the product, you do not need to accept or agree with anything.

I was happy buying a new home but now after a couple months I am feeling somewhat discriminated, there was options which was never offered or told I could get, I did some research with a few neighbors and found out they were offered those options to them.

good to know things are new but not alway used the best products when getting the Basic features

I am happy to finally be in our home. KB Homes, you may have over promised and under delivered. The sales reps are great. The home studio was nice but did not give all details of available options. When we received the final product (our house), there were several construction issues that we were expected to identify. It's clear to see that KB Homes uses random contractors to complete their builds. This is an area that I would caution buyers to be aware of when dealing with KB Homes.

Time to correct warranty issues is excessive. Six weeks to have a missing medicine cabinet installed and front door adjusted so smart lock will work. Still waiting. Still waiting on replacement kitchen cabinet doors almost two months after closing. Repair of electrical outlet that was covered by sheetrock resulted in another two week wait to fix damaged sheetrock. Sheetrock and paint repairs have only met the minimum and do not really match original.

They were great during the first month but after we were having issues already. It seemed like they rushed with the building of the house.

Closing got pushed back 3x. Multiple issues during walkthrough that ended up with 3 walkthrough prior to closing. Continued issues with home even after closing

The quality of work is unsatisfactory. I have to hire my own inspector to inspect the work that they do. JD - the superintendent does not return phone calls on time or does not attend to your needs or questions. He told me that he is to update me once a week but never did. Sometimes he doesn’t even call you back. I have to get the help from my realtor or KB home realtor to get my questions answered. New superintendent took over at the end, who did my final walked through, his name is Mike. Mike has an excellent customer service. He listen to my needs and helps me at the end. Sales team were courteous, polite and responsive. Design Center was ok. Construction Superintendent was fair, at best. I was a cash buyer. No special interest rate, incentive or promotional allowance for me even though most buyers got something. I was promised an $8000 design center credit for paying cash but it was taken away less than 24 hours later because you guys had an overnight price increase and I switched from financing to cash the very next day after signing my purchase agreement. It was handled wrong by your staff. Your sales agent suggested we write the purchase agreement for financing as I was undecided as I could always switch to cash if I decided to. The very next day I decided I’d pay cash and take the $8000 studio credit…. And all the sudden that credit was no longer available. That was wrong and I will not recommend KB to anyone because of it. Some design center choices were very limited and the option prices were excessive. But, it was convenient one-stop shopping. The inability to even have my closet shelves installed a little higher or lower was irritating. Not having input on what $5 plants got stuck in my front yard was disappointing. KB has a successful formula and cranks out thousands of homes with their system. But, homeowners would probably like to see a little more flexibility from the builder. The finished neighborhood is not that nice. Perhaps KB should charge an extra $500 but provide nicer front yard landscaping. Optional pavers, side yard and backyard landscaping packages would provide a more consistent look and a nicer neighborhood thus making for a better finished product. ... More

Few minor problems got fix but took time more than we expected. Couple major problems, some were already fixed, one looks like won't be able to get fixed. Construction next door leaves debris, splashes, etc. to our property.

The sales staff that I had was quite aggressive and pushy during the search and closing periods. There was a tile that was broken and was replaced with a different color. They were about to give me the house with a solo different colored tile in the master bathroom. The closing date was then pushed back as they had to redo the full master bathroom. There are still issues with the house that have not been fixed. Quality of work could be better.

some things were sloppy on the build, wall was not done very well , bricks not aligned some bricks chipped, light on the porch painted over , stucco splattered on the wall of the yard and some splattered on front of the house and painted over. water pressure not very good.

I feel the final product of the home was rushed. I felt there was definitely a push to close on the house and make the sale in order to meet 2022 goals for the company. Our superintendent did a first time walkthrough and the kitchen island was not yet completed the medicine cabinet was not installed in the guest bathroom. We’ve lived in the home for 2 months and have noticed drywall cracking on the ceiling, gray paint marks on the white walls. I just feel like the subcontractors and laborers were rushed to finish the job.

The house at first looks good but when you pay attention to the details, you find the errors. they need to pay more attention to the final details

Material are very cheap and break fast

My wife and I found Aurora Heights about ten months ago as a developing community. The first impressions were very grand. The salesmen seemed nice and personable and we really liked the floorplans available. We put our deposit down fairly quickly and took a dive commited to buying our first home. We were assured that the home would be ready long before our lease ran out and that we would have no issued getting into our home. The first issue arose with the design studio. We were given a choice between two days. The salesman had them on speaker phone as we chose the day and he wrote it down at the same time that my wife wrote it in her own notes. I burned a day of leave and so did my wife so we could make the appointment. When we showed up we were turned away because the secretary that booked us apparently scheduled us for the wrong day. I wanted to walk away then but my wife talked me off the ledge. The second issues came up right at the beginning of the COVID shut down, only I wasn't aware quite yet. The salesman called me to inform me that the homes weren't going to be worked on for an unforseen duration. My wife and decided that this was the point where we should walk away. I called the salesman to tell him the news and he talked me off the ledge yet again, assuring me that he had just found out the homes were back to being worked on in full force. "Business as usual" was the term he used. My wife and I spend the next few weeks in apprehension as we visited the home each Sunday, noting no major progress being done after a certain point. Then about three weeks out from the scheduled walk, which had already been pushed back once, the salesman calls me to tell me the cabinet company was reopening finally. I was never informed that the suppliers were down. I was straight up lied to so that I would not walk away. We barely made it out of our apartment before the lease was up and had we not made it out, they would have raised our rent by 800 dollars a month as a sales tactic meant to force us into a new lease. The cabinets finally went in and we walked the house. The workmanship is subpar all around but I have conceded to the fact that it is due to me having rushed the project. There are in even lines and over spray from rushed paint jobs. Molding with inadequate caulking, parts of the molding in the bathroom was never even installed, a few of the cabinet doors didn't even match and the list goes on. All this explains why the builder was so addement that I don't bring an inspector with me for our final walk. I know multiple people searching for new builds, but I would never refer some one to use KB home. I know it's probably all mostly due to COVID19 but I am still a little salty. 2020 is a year where customer service in nearly every large company decided to take a nose dive and KB home was no exception to that theory. The home is overall nice, but I believe you could get a home just a nice with some one like DR Horton or Beezer and also have adequate treatment from the employees setting things up for you. ... Have nothing but good things to say about KB Home sales staff! Helpful from beginning to end. That being said, it's been nothing but frustration getting things fixed and fixed correctly. Poor workmanship and no response are the main issues.

Sales team was great. Finance team was ok. Service team was poor.
