There are outlets that are not working that we have to figure out one by one as we install some of our electrical appliance such as ceiling fan, also some kitchen outlets are not working, we have to take a time off to attend to someone for them to do repairs such as opening a dry wall, they do not work on Saturdays when it should be them that should be more flexible since it is a faulty installation.

Personally , I would not recommend to buy KB homes to anyone..,

Have many issue that need to be finished

I was warned not to buy a KB Home and now I’m warning you. The craftsmanship is horrible. The sales agent and general contractors grossly misleads buyers. They have completely ruined my first home buying experience. You cannot get them to honor parts of the warranty. Purchase with a Pulte, Lennar or other builder. Trust me!!!

This is the worst quality of work. The worst response times, and the most problem I have ever had w a new build ever. I would never buy another KB home. Never

It has been almost 2 months since we moved in and our cabinets and drawers are still missing.

Before we sign the contracts for the new home we told the KB agent that we will be adding a second name to the tile and was told that we could add that person during the signing at the title company. When the signing day came was told by the title company that KB has to amendment our contract. So we went back to the KB agent told them what happen and was told by the agent that they can not provide amendment or change the contract. Which will create additional cost for us to hire a lawyer to deed our title . Also we were require 50k in earnest money deposit compare to our other home purchase that was 7-10k by a different builder. We have to tell KB during the walk through there are lots of crack 2x4. that needed fix. ... More

KB homes is straight-forward to deal with. You know the prices and options you will get. They move fast in construction! But, that may be at the cost of quality. They do not use the highest quality materials and some of the labor is sloppy. It is nice to have a home and they price it so that you can buy it, but they are not necessarily a good value. Quality just isn't there. And then when you want something fixed.... everything should be smooth and quick but you get a million run-arounds which is unfortunate. Probably would be better to just do things correctly the first time.

Do not let them bully you into signing if you're not satisfied.

KB Home and its subcontractors did not install the flooring and portions of the baseboard in my new home correctly, within industry standards or within manufacturers recommendations/specifications. Throughout the build process the original superintendent and regional supervisor were dismissive and patronizing. They disregarded everything I said, they ignored all the information I provided them that supported my claims and they tried to make me feel like I was being unreasonable. They even questioned the validity of my research and supporting documentation, stating “[I] don’t know where you got your information from”, when I clearly provided source information in multiple communications. They also stated that they had spoken with the Contractors Board and the tile manufacturer and there were “no standards they were required to follow”. However, they was not able to provide anything to substantiate this claim. KB Home flat out disregarded standards set by an ANSI-accredited organization, the ICC and multiple manufacturer’s recommendations/specifications; the result is egregiously substandard workmanship and a brand-new home that insights anger and frustration instead of happiness and comfort. ... Been in the house only a few months and we've already decided at the end of the year we're going to sell. Multiple issues including leaks, countertop issues, issues with appliances, paint issues , quality issues, customer service issues, landscaping issues, and more. Customer service has been extremely useless with the exception of one or two helpful incidents. I will never purchase another KB home in my life. What was supposed to be our forever home has now just turned into a short-term living situation.

The home loan people were horrible. I wanted to back out based off of their issues but my realities talked me out of it. I like the house but you really should restructure your home loan people. It’s like they have no idea what they are doing and ask for the same thing multiple times through multiple people or they wait till last minute to ask for something that they should’ve known they’d need months prior. Was able to purchase home after being selected in lottery. I was very excited but Immediately I was rushed and pressured with threats of losing opportunity to buy the house if I didn’t act on multiple request within hours and days after. I was working and traveling and couldn’t dedicate my days to completing every request within hours after being selected for a lottery I didn’t know I was going to win. I wanted to explore other financing opinions other than KB and was bombarded by pushy sales people who called multiple times a week. I felt they created obstacles for me to use an outside lender making me submit extra credit credits and application to KB lender who I didn’t intend to use just so they could force me into hearing what they could offer. My information was also given to 3rd parties who called me constantly which annoyed me to no end. When market for housing began to deteriorate and prices and values were going down I wanted to renegotiate the cost especially since I was told the house would be completed in approximately 6 months and it was approaching a year I didn’t want to be underwater before I even got into the home. I was told I could only get a discount by switching to KB financing which I never intended but was pressured into. When the VA did an appraisal of my home which came back the house was valued less than the loan amount KB asked me to pay a 16k difference which made no sense and threatened again to not sell us the house and take the earnest money. I felt my agent who is a close family friend who was speaking for me and acting in my best interest wasn’t always being talked to with the respect I felt she deserved. About a month before closing I was laid off and KB showed lack of compassion for my situation and used it as a bargaining chip against me trying to get me to pay extra fees for closing being delayed a couple weeks despite the building process being behind 5 plus months. Which should have been a happy time in my family’s life seemed like a stressful rollercoaster with me doubtful that closing would even happen because of the pressure, negotiations and distrust I had developed for KB who would often surprise me with misc fees, obstacles, threats, delays and constant excuses. ... I can some it up in 2 words. Buyers remorse

Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Zero quality and building price are not fair, customer service rate is 2 out of 5. sale and finance are 5 star and helpful.

We have had a horrible experience and would not recommend using KB. Even after moving in, we still have so many issues that are taking forever to be addressed. We were told that any defects would be fixed within three days of our New Home Orientation, but here we sit about two months later and are still waiting for so many issues to still be fixed. Most of the issues are around sloppy work and cutting corners. Whoever worked on our house clearly doesn't have any pride in workmanship, and just rushed through their jobs hoping no one would complain. It is extremely disappointing to buy a new home in this condition, and is even more disappointing that they are taking so long to make things right. ... More
