This is my third home that I've had built. I must say that this builder comes out first in homebuilding. I've was kept abreast of each phase of the building. They had lots of patience when answering questions concerning my home. The Superintendent, Ian was great, and very knowledgeable of my home. If you're going to purchase a home, do greatly consider KB Homes.

Sales team and our builder Cody are awesome. Cody took care of any small issues in a timely manner. Cabinets can be of better quality as we received some slight color variations in some cabinet doors.

We purchased a KB home recently and enjoyed the care, guidance, and timely communications from the sales office and the design studio. The KB homes design studio expert Curtis guided us through the design selection process and was always attentive to our needs. During the build process, KB homes' sales agent Katrina, construction management Sean, and construction supervisor Michael did their best to help resolve interior build issues so we could close on the home as soon as possible despite labor and material shortages. Katrina's sincere care for us and her involvement in ensuring we get the house we are delighted with. I am very thankful to construction supervisors Michael and Bashar for working diligently to address all my concerns and trying to fix issues even after the home closing. I love how my house turned out to be. This experience restored my trust in KB and exemplified that KB work towards building trust and relationships with prospects and new homeowners. ... More

No Transparency & do not care about buyers

Based on my experience with KB Homes, I would not go with these builders again.

KB home was responsive in every step of the home buying experience. We love our new house!

KB Home does not provide high quality homes. We have quickly noticed all the shortcuts that were taken during the building process after moving in. It's obvious many of the subcontractors they hired were rushing and did not take pride in their work. So much so that they ended up firing the first crew and ended up hiring a new one, but a lot of damage was already done with the previous crew that they claim could not be undone. Additionally, they had delay after delay (it took 5 months longer than they said to get us moved in). Overall, this has not be a good experience. I would go with another builder. ... More

We had some problems with our appraisal being appraised a lot lower than homes with the exact 1582 floor plan in our Timberleaf neighborhood.

The attention to detail could be better for the price of the home. Paint is dripped over tubs, light switches, cover plates, etc.

KB was very thorough throughout the entire process. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable despite building a home being completely new for us.

My home process has been amazing. Gavin T. has followed up every step of the way. Has been above and beyond from the perspective of a superintendent. Could not have been happier to fix the minor touch-up points to perfect my home even more. A fantastic process from the Sales and superintendent perspective to follow up on every little detail. It has me a very happy customer. Thank you.

I had a positive experience with KB Homes until the end. It took 11 months for them to complete a townhouse, nearly 5 months more than they had originally predicted. I had 3 building contractors during that time and my sales rep also left during that time. The lack of consistency between the different phases was evident. The builders have been given too much on their plates to truly manage everything well. They are capable individuals, but the company has set them up for failure. My home was rushed to be finished and many final details were not finished well. The closing date was set and then pushed back another time and the to-do list was long even after closing. Communication was often lacking. The end of construction/closing was not as I had hoped and makes it difficult to recommend KB Homes to others for the time being. Gavin has been fantastic to work with. The quality of the home is excellent and the few issues we had were dealt with very promptly.

From the day I put my deposit down to close was 3 weeks short of 52 weeks. There were tons of delays including the week leading up to close. It seemed like the turnover of sales people, builders created an environment where myself, the buyer never knew what was happening or who I could reach out to. In the final month and a half they brought in a new project manager, Kelly who is and continues to be a Rockstar. He is so responsive and knowledgeable. The entire process would have left a sour taste in my mouth if it were not for him. I would give him 5 starts in every category possible.

Let's start from the beginning. I found myself in a position to purchase a home. I thought to myself wouldn't it be nice to own a house so close to downtown Raleigh? Well, yes it would have been nice. To be honest the location is in an area with lots of growth. But, the point is the house is a complete disaster. I have never in my life been struck with such intense buyers remorse than after the purchase of this home. This WILL be my first and last purchase with KB home. The list of issues I have with this house are numerous. To be honest I have never in my life seen such poor craftsmanship in a new construction home. Somehow when whatever you call "warranty" work is done mud gets tracked into my house. The workers never cleanup after themselves and they do work that honestly a high schooler in carpentry class could do a better job. It's an absolute joke that some of the people working on these houses call themselves tradesmen. I don't feel like I come home to a new house every day after work. No, I come home to my little house of nightmares. I paid for a new house but instead I got the used car lot equivalent of one. ... More

There are always bumps along the path to building a home. We've had our number of bumps, but KB Homes has done their best to meet our needs and take care of any problems we've had. It's not always the fastest turn around, but that's understandable considering how many homes there are and the time of year we bought our home. Just make sure you let them know if any problems and keep clear communication and they'll take care of you ;)

KB was real quick to try to get the homes done that they hired the fastest yet obviously cheapest contractors and tried to get it done in sloppy record speed.. Overall, it's liveable and I AM ultimately happy with my home although it's been nearly two months since closing and still waiting on all (somewhat minor) repairs to be fixed. I'm having to take off half a days work (which will likely turn into two half days if I suspect we're working with the same contractors) to deal with what should have been addressed with the contractors themselves prior to move in, but I digress.. Aside from all that, salesmen Jack was absolutely great to work with although is no longer there. My finance rep John made the buying process easy-breezy. Building reps Kelly and Alyssa are doing everything they can to get items addressed and fixed so I can finally really be comfortable and happy in my own home. I feel like a lot of the issues I'm having to deal with is partly out of their hands and feel bad for being annoyed at this process but they've been doing a great job with what they have and I thank them for listening and understanding. Above all, I am happy with my home and just can't wait for the adjustments/fixes to be made and really feel at home in my home. With all that being said, would I recommend purchasing with KB Homes? Yes but I hope they take into account all their customers feedback and take take-away needless issues to avoid for the next person.. Thanks ... More

As a first time homebuyer I was initally very excited, but as time progressed, I became utterly disappointed with the whole process. The numerous delays, lack of communication and now that we are in the home, there are still a multitude of things wrong with the home, that we have been waiting almost 2 months for to be repaired. I will not buy another KB Home.

While the home KB delivered is certainly a fine home, I'd wager there are ways to get a fine home with less headache. After being in the home a while, it's clear where some costs were cut. Certain things were unfinished or wrong: a chandelier with no lightbulbs, the door to the garage was installed backward, a nail sticking out of the stairs, a shrub promised in the front that has never been installed, several dozen large nails left on the deck/backyard. Many of these left undone after I was told they would all be fixed. A free additional bucket of paint was promised that I've never received. Additionally, it has been very difficult to get ahold of people and to hear back. As I mentioned, it's a fine home, but I'm sure there are many other companies that can build a fine home and have better communication. ... More

Overall with all of the delays in constructing my home. Their was always an open communication with me.
