Good value with lots of options and upgrades

Good

Great home has all the options I wanted in a home.

Overall happy with the new home process

As with any construction crews, it's all about the subs. The direct hire employees can not be everywhere all the time, so the subs try to get by with stuff. The direct hire folks with KB were very responsive and addressed any issues we found with the workmanship of their subs.

My experience with KB Home was great.

My home was not clean/ready before I moved in.Wrong keys given(I am not kidding..!!) I called for some repair at home, did not get any response for two months.Will not recommend KB to my friends.

Partly my fault for not making sure what was getting. Asked about screen for back porch but no one bothered to tell me there was no porch on this house changed the color of cabinets t hey picked and asked for different counter top in kitchen which they did not change after picking different cabinets. At fist very responsive to any problems or flaws but soon started not responding very well if at all. still have issues not taken care of.

Like the community, wish there were more parks.

Mitch, Jesse and Rob who were involved with our process were incredibly helpful and kind.

The upstairs floor squeak due to improper installation. the paint is cheap. the windows don't slide up or down and comes off the bracket.

I ran around town looking at resell homes and a couple of other builders in the area. Because of the current market, pricing is what it is. I wanted the best bang for my buck. The biggest thing for me was "what if something breaks, can I afford to fix it." Being realistic, there wasn't really any good reason to buy a resell home when builders are offering brand new homes at same price range. Of course there are the lived-in home benefits to a resell but for me, I am not handy. Knowing from the ground up everything is new, under warranty and I have a year to call someone to come fix it if something happened. I looked at LGI Homes right down the road from KB. I went back to LGI about 5 times before I decided their floor plan didn't scream out to me "this is home." The pros to their property were 3 sides masonry, brick/stone combo, granite, nice cabinets and other standard things in the house considered as upgrades with other builders. I didn't feel that the square footage was put to good use. For example, for the home size of 1350 sq.ft., I thought things were not balanced like the over-sized bathroom. To me the floor plan was a waste of space in comparison to the actual master bedroom. Things like this stuck out and kept me going back and forth. Do I really want to sign here? What you see is what you get. Their homes are beautiful and the included selections are beautiful as well. There was no lack of quality by any means. So I went to visit with KB Home to see what they had to offer. When I arrived to meet my sales person, Severo greeted me with a smile and asked what we were looking for size wise and lead us right to the model homes. He didn't ask for preapprovals just got us right to the end product. When we walked the 1353 model home, of course perfectly decked out, we immediately said this is the one. I was so surprised that the floor plan made good of its space. Yes we would have loved to get a bigger house but it wasn't in the budget. So we decided on the 1353 floor plan. 3 bedrooms with den. I loved it from the moment I stepped in the model. It was cozy and we could see ourselves living there. We talked about the options, things that were included and what were upgrades etc. The start price of the house left us wiggle room for the upgrades that we needed. We went over a short list of must haves with Severo to get an idea of what the end cost could be and to decide if it would meet our needs and expectations. We went home to sleep on it. Googled builders and reviews. KB and LGI were the top builders based on reviews in my area. That same night, I emailed Severo and set up the appointment to sign a contract. We went on a Sunday and selected the home site, signed the contract. I only had to put up $500. (LGI was $1,000). The reason we went with KB Home was the simple fact that we could customize our home, even down to what side of the road we would be on. (to an extent of course). I "sacrificed" 3 sides masonry for selections that made me happier than how much brick I had. I obsessed about my selections for weeks. I made several trips to the KB studio. Pulled samples, matched colors, changed my mind 800 times. It was stressful but a fun kind of stress. I was able to fulfill my love of the color gray and build around that instead of pre-selected brown granite that I really didn't love. I love my aspen colored granite with my raised breakfast bar and pendant lights. LGI could never compare for me, even though their kitchen had more cabinets and tile floors included. They weren't my style in the end. There wasn't even an option for a covered porch. Some things, for me, matter more than having 3 sides masonry. I don't stand outside and stare at the side of the house and wish for more brick but I would have stood in my home wishing everything wasn't brown. Construction started fairly quickly, some weather delays at first but not much. I signed in March and Closed in November. Severo sent me weekly updates and pictures of the progress. I didn't have to drive out there to see it all happening unless I wanted to. He was always super helpful and never pushy. If any issues came up, he helped get it taken care of with the right people. Now I live in my new home and come to find some things I wish I would have done in the build, like under cabinet lights and over the toilet cabinets but nothing major. I did find that after living in the house, there wasn't a ton of storage inside. The master bedroom closet wasn't really that big but totally find. The shelving could have been set higher up so I could add more below after the fact. Not much room for a nightstand between the bed and closet door. Little things like that. I didn't buy a castle so it comes with its territory. I love my home and I love KB. I could see myself building again with KB when its time to upgrade the home. People are always amazed when I tell them I picked out that marble counter in the bathroom and matched the cabinets. It's so fun to talk about and share pictures. Its almost been a year since I signed the contract and it is just so exciting. Were there issues, yes. Major ones? No. Anything I brought up was addressed and taken care of. Humans build the houses so everything won't always be perfect but to me its perfection. I know I made the right choice. Now if KB could do something about the traffic, Manor would be a better place! Prices of the house are good, however materials not so fascinating. Please be thorough while doing the upgrade option.

Excellent sales agents and excellent price.

This was the first (and probably the only time) I have had the opportunity to purchase a brand new home. My sales person was very knowledgeable and responsive. She was able to quickly get the answer to all my questions. There were a couple of small glitches I found, but they were addressed and taken care of right away. I especially appreciated the weekly status update. I was able to go over to my home site to verify that things were the way I wanted during each phase of construction.

We had been in the new house 3 weeks and had two separate leaks in the Master shower. The gutters are not even joined at the corners. The quality of the drywall finishing is fair at best.

Whole staff are nice and helpful when I need something to fixed the ladies always was there to help Me.

Overall pretty great experience from start to finish!

The appliances and toilets are shoddy, the cheapest that they could put in. Toilets have to be flushed twice, Plumber came out and said it was the cheapest model of toilet. Bad water pressure. Back wall is 6 feet tall outside, but we can see into each others houses. Going to have to pay to have 2 more rows added (after HOA approval). Should of been added by KB Homes, since there is no privacy and considering we had to pay $5,000 more for our lot location. The garage was set up too high and there was a sharp incline, not able to get cars into the garage. That since has been fixed, but should of been done correctly the first time. ... More

The process of building with KB Home was so much easier than I thought it would be. There are not enough words to Express how thankful we are to the entire WOW .

The "KB" staff is really awe some before, during and even after the home purchase. They keep every promise and go out of their way to enlighten and keep their customers happy in every step of the whole home buying process. Keep up the great work!!!

I'm very disappointed that internet access is still not available on my street. If I'd known this, I would not have bought with KB Homes.

It was a good home buying experience.

I have purchased quite a bit of KB homes within the last 8 months. Mario, the construction superintendent, has been the best I have dealt with. He is very responsive, knows his stuff, and cares about guest service. He has really gone out of his way to make me happy in my purchase.
