We first signed a contract with KB Homes in June of 2022. Ingrid was great at walking us through the process when we signed and the project manager had promised a delivery before Thanksgiving. Ingrid was more conservative with an estimate of mid-December. We had the hurricane move through and expected delays. There was no significant impact in the development and work continued. Work fell behind and we only knew by tracking expected closing on the app. Ingrid was always good at trying to get information for us, but the project manager was not keeping any sort of schedule and not passing on information at all. They were six months past the closing date when we were finally ready for closing. The underwriters discovered a situation with the financing options two days before closing that had a significant impact on our financing options. They had the information for four months and only found it two days prior. There were a few problems with the final build, however the new project manager was very helpful in getting the build back on track in the last two months. He was very helpful during our walk through and even after we moved in. Ingrid and Tiffany were both great to work with and went above and beyond expectations during our last week getting things straight for closing. I was disappointed since I bought my first house here in USA 10 years ago with KB Home so I really trusted this time. Unfortunately since my first sales rep left KB Home in the middle of the process the relationship get very weak until now Seems you are not well prepared for international sales. I bought this house for moving me here as primary house but I am am foreign so as family lost the first air tickets when the closing date was moved indefinitely just 4 days before the written promised date, and although it was somehow compensated in the final price it was a big inconvenient to do travel arrangements again. After closing was finally made I couldn’t receive the house because cleaning was not done even when I already have closed and paid. I found good support in the sales general manager for solving that issue the night before travel back to my born country w/o the possibility of a good checking, but again one more inconvenient. Now that I finally began my moving I found bad cleaning details, bad terminations in painting and carpets joints and cabinets don’t cared during the construction but the most important errors were a broken thermostat that made the AC work wrong and Not leaving a single TV jack point anywhere in the house so I couldn’t get internet service as due because that construction error… The issues keep going because regardless to do the notifications to the construction supervisor they take long for solving, if I dont call for follow up I dont receive updates and suddenly contractors come to my door w/o a previous notification and they lost their time because I am not at home or prepared for let them work.. I must say that when I reported the AC problem it was duly managed with urgency but besides that nothing else has been managed as expected. Disappointed ... More

Everyone has been professional and helpful

The sales and construction team did a great job at keeping us well informed each week. Those check ins were very important to us since we were out of town buyers. We love our home.

I would say our experience was up and down as first-time home buyers. I do think the process was interesting. You need a lot of patience as it took us almost a year to build. I do think that they would have clear contact information once you move and the communication could be a little better also who you need to contact for what since you have a warrant on the house?

My home buying experience took a bit longer than expected but well worth the wait! Reed was very professional and responsive to my concerns and was able to provide me with everything I asked for in a timely manner. I highly recommend him for anyone looking to purchase a new KB home. Also, Justin has been a pleasure working with and has followed up with any issues I’ve addressed. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with the outcome of my new KB home and love my beautiful house! The experience was good. The homes are very nice and neat. The employees/staff were all very friendly and professional. They made the home-buying experience much more enjoyable!

One of the best builders make you feel like family!

Post closing don’t expect much, so make sure everything is checked twice and checked again. No matter how insignificant it may seem make sure it’s done. Addressing issues after close is done at KBs convenience. On 4 separate occasions I stayed how waiting as scheduled and agreed and no one showed up. They did show up at their convenience when I was either working or had something else scheduled, regardless if they are contractors or subs they are agents of KB and should be respectful of your time and privacy. Overall just a bad experience and regret purchasing home, which sucks.

the buying process was good minus issues related to the lender. After moving in, I have noticed a lot of poor building. Builders cut a lot of corners thus requiring things to be repaired after. The front door was not aligned properly thus the door will have to be reset, the shower drain in the master bathroom was installed improperly and thus the drain is off by about an inch. Inside the kitchen cabinets, their are screw protruding through about a quarter inch. The air conditioner had no freon possibly for reason that none was initially put in and thus the house was increasing in temperature every night into the mid to high 80s or their is a leak somewhere in the house. HVac worker who came to fix the issue checked for leaks however none were found at this time. If problem persists and the new freon added is quickly used then walls will need to be removed to locate the leak. In short, I initially felt the entire process went well for the most part until actually moving in. Too many issues coming up that shouldnt be present after spending 540,000 on a home. ... More

Very poor quality home and facing lot of issues with new home

No doubt buying a home with KB is a great experience. But not our dwelling on the first month, this was the time we noticed some flaws on the materials and workmanship. First, our countertop has a lot of chips on it but it has been addressed already they did some repairs. Second, I thought the paint in the interior was so thin it can easily be removed seemed like only one coating was apied.Third and the worst, within a month of dwelling, our a/c already broke twice! Installer got notified but their emergency service was not until 3 days after we called. Summertime! Who would like to spend their days inside their new house with 93 degrees inside? From the moment I stepped into the sales office to look at the models I was met with great customer service. Lane was knowledgeable and had answers immediately for all my questions. He was consistently communicating with me every step of the way. Every person in the KB Home fields that I have had the pleasure of interacting with have been informative and friendly. Highly recommend anyone looking for a new home to look at KB Homes.

Working with Kb Homes was a wonderful experience. The responsiveness and level of professionalism was top-notch!

The two people that made my experience awesome was Andrew and Tommy! They certainly went out of their way for me on numerous occasions and it will not be forgotten

The start of the buying process was great, everyone was nice, friendly, and communicative, but once we moved into the house, people stopped communicating with us and now we have to deal with a jerk who is our rep named Brett. I requested a new rep and the response is that we can't have anyone else. That's great customer service, make us have to deal with a jerk who has no interest in actually helping us or answering emails. We had large mistakes happen in the house and had to have them all fixed once we moved in. If you plan on adding an AC unit with KB homes, you'll want to check it when it's ran because they do a bad job at running it so that in just a few years, it'll go out. ... More
