the worst experience of my life

Overall KB has a great process of getting you to commit to buying a home. The sales team in our case Lizette was wonderful to work with, she routinely provided meaningful updates and progress reports for the home. Most importantly, you could tell that she enjoyed being the point of contact for the project. Design Center - Jennifer did a great job of listening and providing solutions for what could be done given the timing of the project. Customer Service - Justin has provided a positive experience and is cleaning up a lot of unfinished matters that he did not create and are not typical warranty repairs issues. Financing - was straight forward. We used our own lender, but no major complaints with the finance team. Construction Services- I like to assume positive intent, however the team is not customer friendly and lack the ability to successfully finish a job. In my opinion closing on a home is not finishing the job if you have missing lights, the wrong light fixtures, have workers in your house every other day to resolve items that could have been addressed several months ago. We had a home inspection, provided the report to construction and we still have incomplete items on the list over a month later. Every week we have lived in the home, we have had workers here as well - paint issues, wood stain issues, cabinet issues, dishwasher issues, lighting, garage door opener, flooring issues, drywall issues, plumbing issues, stucco issues, kitchen hood vent issues, fireplace screen issues, and missing sprinkler covers, We had to inform construction they installed the wrong window per plan design. We had to inform construction that a bathroom door was installed behind a toilet and it couldn’t close. If I report an issue with a dishwasher and I’m told the issue is resolved, but yet the appliance is never plugged in, water safety valve removed, and actually tested - please don’t tell me it’s resolved. They have attempted to get better - John has stepped in, but if I worked at KB I’d come out to my job sites and check on my operations. Some construction employees should never interface with a customer ever again. How many homeowners are having the same experiences. How much rework is necessary? You need a team of professional (women and men) to inspect your homes prior to asking a customer to close. Every week, I find new issues that have to reported to customer service. This is simply not fair to me and my daily to make ourselves available several days a week to get issues resolved. Good company helpful good material

The staff at KB Homes (Kris, Jaime. Arnold and Trey)are very knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions and listened and addresses my concerns, efficiently and effectively. Great Customer service. The Team always treat me with respect!

We received weekly updates as to the progress of our home which was very helpful. We have great communication with the Superintendent Steve and assistant Superintendent, Rob. Customer service, Rod and Robert, have been excellent, very responsive and efficient. The design center specialist, Jessica, was so knowledgeable and helpful. KB has made water efficiency a priority with rain sensors and a fully landscaped front yard and drip sprinkler system. This one story design is spacious and very desirable. We love the home!

I was very disappointed with the build quality and with Brian the superintendent who was unprofessional and intentionally delayed and messed up the build, I am very surprised that the Sales team (Tim) who knew of the price reduction forced me to sign the contract for the unfinished, very poor quality deliverable 2 days before the price reduction.

The new home was ready when promised, the workmanship is solid, the sales and customer service are top notch.

Great experience with all the people of KB home. very responsive and easy to contact. if only the quality of the finishes and details of the home were up to par with the people. There was a handful of damaged materials used in my unit which was fixed and replaced to the best of the staff's ability. But things like the patio door frame which has a hole at the botom right that was patched up with caulk, or the master bathroom shower drain which was also roughly finished with caulking instead of a neat metal ring fails to meet the quality expected for the price I paid for the unit. Sales staff great. Quality of the materials, construction and install HORRIBLE.

My biggest issue with the home is that there is not enough space in the garage--to the point that they had to saw off part of the brackets they used to attach the garage door frame to the building, causing the frame to be slightly warped and uneven. When I spoke with the garage door installer, he said that because there wasn't enough space in the garage, he had no choice but to do it this way for there to even be a garage door. The screws were also driven in at an awkward angle. Not only that, the piping job in the garage is also very horrendous as it takes up what little precious space there is to park. The fire sprinkler piping is done right next to the opening of the garage door on the left side, jutting out from the wall making it difficult to park. Further in, there are also numerous gas pipes jutting out from the left, forcing me to park by backing up into the garage as I can't open the driver's side door if I were to just drive in and park. I also have issue with the soundproofing in the home. I'm not a heavy stepper when I walk around, yet my wife tells me that she can hear me walking around upstairs. Even gentle walking causes loud noises downstairs. Similarly, I can hear my wife showering upstairs while I'm downstairs to the point that I can distinguish individual water droplets and feel like I'm listening to rain. ... More

Bad!! Cheap materials; broken promises. Flooded the building—both upstairs and downstairs. Electrical appliances/fixtures all messed up My water heater stopped working. Bad!!! I’ll be building another in 2 yrs hopefully, but never KBHOMES.

Our salesperson. Adrien was excellent and helped us get the perfect house for our family. He was very knowledgeable and took his time to show us several models and kept us updated on the progress of our build. Ralph, the actual builder did a superb job on building our dream home. Also, John the supervisor of the builders of Kb gave me a warm welcome when I met him on a day I was coming to look a my progress of the build. He took the time to go over dates and he even was able to get our house closing a day I head of time due to my situation with moving from another state to Florida . Everything he promised us he came through with.He communicated with us, very personable. He worked double time with his crew to get us in our home in the deadline he gave us!! Couldn’t have ask for better quality work and craftsmanship on our home!! Wilfredo and Jose assistance was of pure excellent support and guidance on getting us approved for our mortgage every step of the way. They were so helpful and very patient. I was very grateful for both of them for helping even answering my calls on nights and weekends. Two very professional loan specialist and very supportive. Isabeau is the warranty specialist assigned to our home. She is a true sweet person. Also addresses our issues quickly. She called to introduce herself to us. She had done some much for us. When our shutters came in she immediately set up appointments for the painting and also touch up paint on the same day!! Really spruced up the house!! We are in excellent hands if we need services and emergency service call are handled very quickly by her ax well!! We absolutely can call our Kb Team a wonderful combination of suburb specialist!! It has been 4+ months since I have been moved to my new home. The house construction was delayed and I got penalized for the loan rate, for renting home. KB promised me to hand over the house within 12-14 months but it took more than that and they never let me know the closing date or time. They just let me know one week before the closing. At closing, they showed me the Oven+microwave combo was not there and they give me a loaner oven. They told me they back ordered my original oven but it never showed up. Now they are telling me they can not give me the original oven+microwave combo and gave me a different one without my permission. As I refused to use it, they now delaying and telling me they are waiting for the answer. I am very frustrated with that Second, at the design studio, I told them if at backyard patio is higher than the ground I need stairs. I will pay for that if I need to. The reason I was telling because I have small kids who need surrounded railing as the patio is higher than the ground. At that time they told me to contact the Construction Manager. I requested my Construction Manager and he told me he can not do anything because the city inspection told it's okay of that height. The height from the ground is almost 20 inch-22 inches. They did not install it for me. Later I found that, they put railing for other homeowners even the ground is not higher than mine. I asked why!! they did not answer. What a discrimination. I told them I have kids and I requested them specially. Is that right? Why they did do that for other owners even with the ground height is less than mine? And they did even after the closing. But not for me. The garage does not have any sealed baseboard, it has a space with the wall. Bugs and other insects (crickets, roaches) go inside the house. What a poor design !! I told the construction manager to resolve the issue. He told me it's supposed to be like that. But later I found other homeowners, new homeowners all they gave it. They are sealed with the baseboard and paint not for me. They refused to do that. The warranty guy told me, he did that for others but can not do it for me. The community features pre-wire flood light at the front was not done for me. I asked them why!! They told me they don't know. But every houses of this community have it. More frustration and more disappointment for all of these. There are a lot of issues and problems. I can write those all day long but it won't finish. After closing, the sales guy, construction manager, and warranty manager all keep good relationships so that they can get 10 and requested me several times so that they can get a KB bonus. I gave all of them 10 thinking they will actually be good people and will take care of us after closing. After that, they stop contacting me about the problems I need resolution. Any upper management ever contacted me or say sorry for what they can not do or deliver. They just forget about the homeowners. I am not recommending any person to buy a KB house after what happened with me. I think KB does not have any control over their contractor and people. They don't know what's going on with the root label. Buying a home is a dream for everyone. I thought my first home journey with KB will be good. Even I inspired my friends before and they all bought KB home. They all facing the same kind of issues as mine, But after seeing all of these problems, miss communication, and issues I am very very much frustrated. I will suggest new homeowners think twice before you buy KB home. They are not what they are advertising. I think these will help all to understand the KB Home Experiences. ... More

Everything was relatively smooth. We thought that everything would be perfect and there are some flaws but that is to be expected. Overall experience 8 out of 10 just because we were in contract for so long with so many delays that wasn’t really communicated in the best way

I’m not sure if I should feel manipulated, lied to or if I just have to be even more patient. I was told there would be consistent communication, however I don’t get any calls back or returned text messages. I was told that I would be given a gift if I gave a positive review, which I did and still have not received it nor the actual things I’ve paid for. At this point I’m just wondering can I call the vendors myself to get things done because no one else is. This is extremely disappointing.

I like KB home and the service from the contract to warranty service including contract process, weekly update during construction and walk through with the expert and then very convenient move-in process. Feedback and response is really quick. Warranty service is very nice and very kind. They are very responsible. I definitely recommend KB home.
