Great Home building Quality of both exterior and interior structures and appliances of the home and Outstanding Loan Processing and Customer Service Representative Team. Overall full score 100% from the initial deposit of securing the lot to the weekly updates of new home building come along, Financing, Lending, Loan Processing, Closing, Funding, Recording and final outgoing customer service to take care of all small minor issues to get a full closure as part of the New Home Warranty Specifications Deliverables.

Generally a positive experience. They will try to get you to bundle your mortgage and insurance with their in-house products/services but you can go with your own. Extremely hard to get any customized features on newer technologies, such as internet and solar systems. Such as structured wiring (ethernet, cable, etc) cabinet HAD to be in the master bedroom closet, and no option to go with larger solar system. However, ironically, super easy to customize "old tech" such as paint, fixtures and appliances. I got a good value for a good home, but I think if there's ever a next time, I'd go with a home builder who's much smaller and hence, responsive to what I am wanting in my home. ... More

First time home buyer here and we were duped. Had multiple construction issues (wrong windows, plumbing issues, foundation not level, flooring issues, doorknobs falling off, cracked windows, windows off track) all in the first week of moving in. Customer service rep told us we were being unreasonable and then superintendent took over customer service and supervising construction. Horrible idea. You have to email and call and chase to get anyone to acknowledge your issues. Then you have to allow the same people who messed it up the first time to come back and mess it up again. The experience with KB has been interesting. The amount of time it took to build was 11.5 months (estimated 6-9 months). The quality of some of the material was below par. Repairs have taken months to complete and I'm still dealing with repairs 2 months after closing. Overall experience was ok, but could have been better with customer service. Studio team was Excellent and took their time so I was happy.

Lots of scratches and had patched on most cabinets. Tile floor has a lot of inconsistency of grout and chips on tiles ( poor workmanship). Customer services after close is great.

Great experience. The design studio options were great. The sales team was nice. They followed up each week with updates.

That once you sign the design contract, there is no going back. Even if you want to change something the very next day. So leave some time between the two design appointments so that you can decide whether you want to change your mind or not.

The contractor was very truthful and realistic through the whole process.

This could've just been the whole housing market in 2021. Four months after signing, our home was still a dirt pile. But weeks later, foundation was poured, the structure went up fast & filled in soon after. The default paint may scrape off easily in places, but everything else has held up well. Maintenance staff has been helpful around the house too.

There were small details what needed to be improved, I’ve seen homes being built around my home and most seem to have the same issue, back yard it’s all uneven and hard to work on, quality in the materials could be improved too.

My experience with the KB home buying process was good. There were some issues: delays with material, communication and site construction manager. I believe some these issues could have been avoided with better communication. How ever in the end response some of the issues are currently being addressed.

If we didn't call every few days we would have not know any info about our house. We had to stay on top of our build to make sure things were done correctly

Sub standard material and selections were offered based on the price of the house. As an example the primary bathroom vanity cabinets have no drawers for storage, unlike earlier phases and model homes, closet door selection was sub standard as well, they had no real options for stair railing options. I could go on and on these are just a few items I had to start a list because it got that bad. When comparing the KB homes in this community to the KB homes in Irvine (which are priced comparable) the selections and quality are night and day. Early on in the process we did not have the best experience but the builder worked quickly albeit during the peak pandemic period to turn things around. Brought on new staff altogether to meet the demands of the buyers. We were very grateful by the end for the willingness of KB staff to go above and beyond to get things done right. In the end, we would recommend KB Home builder to anyone else in the market for a new home. I think people just need to understand that buying a brand new home is a more complex process than just buying an existing home. Was a very good experience

Buying a home is very stressful but with KB homes staff you are in good hands. The workmanship of our house is phenomenal, the designs & material makes you feel relaxed (at home)..

Great property value for the price paid. Plan 2 unit square feet is very reasonable compared to units in Sunnyvale and Mountain View areas. However, space is not well utilized in design. Quality of workmanship and materials is poor. It almost feels like everything is done in a rush and not well thought. Water is extremely hard - water softener and filtration are additional costs that home owners need to think of.

Was a great experience from start to finish and the entire team made sure I was happy throughout.

We love our home, but the process to get into it was frustrating. Putting aside supply chain issues that are out of anyone's control, we were jerked around by KB throughout the construction process and communication was inconsistent. The lender they push you to use had poor customer service. The house wasn't ready at closing, and we're still trying to get the last outstanding issue finished. It felt like they were trying to crank out more homes than they're able to do and we fell into the cracks. It doesn't matter how many times they apologize to me, I still will not recommend this builder.

Being our first home we appreciate the opportunity and the people that helped us through this process.

The finished is perfect and overall pretty good

This was my first experience buying a home and it was ruined. I never got the wow excitement experience because everywhere I looked there was something wrong. Careless things like holes in brand new wall and paint on things that should not have paint on them. The worse issue of all was the worker ate in the unfinished home and left behind a mess a 1 year old child would leave. Additionally, they tried to force me to close on an unfinished home. Twice I went to closing and the bright orange stain from food was still there. In my opinion they stall and take to long fixing things from careless mistakes. I have a hole in one of my bedrooms from a careless plumbing incident. It’s been two weeks and they still haven’t completed the job. When people buy a brand new home they want to move in and relax without interruption. At this point it feels like they or still fixing structural issue that should be addressed during the building period. I would never build another home with KB. ... More

Our first home experience was above what we could have expected. From the sales personnel, to our builder, and loan officer, each and everyone was always responsive, respectful, and always there to help us out with any questions or concerns throughout the process. The home came out beautifully and just as we had designed, by far we are 100% happy to have chosen KB Home.
