If you want updated appliances other than standard black and white cabinets, carpet, tile, flooring, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, doors, internet connection housing, etc. You will have to pay out of pocket. All of the items that come with the build are the same style items used in the selections from 20 or more years ago. It hasn't been changed and it is poor quality, so you will considerably find yourself increasing the price of your home due to selects but not the value of your home. Prepare a budget if you know that you don't want the basics for your home selects. If you are okay with upgrading your selects after your home buying process, then happy home buying and enjoy. Also, the new kb homes come with pest control unit built in the home which is awesome compared to older KB homes in the late 90s. Make sure the carpenter caulk properly and you schedule for pest control sooner than later because the buggs, ants, spiders and all small criters are coming into your home through the crevices of the bricks, stucco, and the fiber cement. It isn't pleasant having to deal with it in your brand new home. It become very stressful to deal with. Also, Cosmetic stressors....be prepared if your doorknobs start falling off one by one, I haven't figured out why they become loose and will not stay tightened. But waiting for someone to come and fix them. Also, ask to make sure that all weeds arekilled and gone before sod is laid otherwise your sod will be taken over by weeds and lsndscape will take some extra tlc to groom it back to a beautiful lawn. Make sure you get gutters and all of your plates as I am missing one. If you are choosing a stucco home and a light color, please know that it will not appear as that color on stucco and KB will not add any additional coats to get it close to the visual view of the color unless you pay out of pocket. My advice is to choose a darker color. Some homes in the neighborhood seem to not turn out that way with a light color but my home did. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Enjoy your KB home! ... More

Everything was perfect and workers are professionals

This is our first home and it hasn’t felt like a joyful experience at all. Our yard was horrible. The sod laid was defective and dead and our yard was embarrassing. The yard is still it complete and we’re four months in. The driveway has holes and multiple marks, missing items still, paint marks, and uneven floors. The trades hired had poor workmanship and our home displays that. We’re honestly heartbroken and ready to sale. If you do build with KB in Texas please avoid the builder Gill, our first home is a disappointment. KB has quality office, bank, design, and customer service employees, however, the homes are not. ... More

The help provided by the team, they helped from day 1 to even after we started living in the house. The team cares for the buyers and always felt we were in the same team

KB staff "held our hands" all the way through the process and kept us updated on all steps/progress along the way.

Communication throughout the process was great. I had to give 4 stars for materials because I haven’t been in the house for a month and my dishwasher isn’t working already.

All was good from sales to the loan but the problem I had was getting the answers I needed from the construction team when the house would be ready so I could move out of where I was living but my loan officer Jason was on point to get all my questions answered even though it was not his job

Really Had a bad experience with the KB home builder. There was an issue in my AC unit and drywall cracked in the living area. While on final day closing we collected keys directly from Austin Tile and we didn’t set the temperature to 69 inside the house. In return the builder is blaming us you are responsible to your house. After closing I never been at the house, then how can I responsible. It’s their responsibility to set every thing properly and currently when submitting keys to Owner. And how can they expect the Owners has to move when there was a drywall cracked in the living room. We closed in mid September and planned to move on 1st week of October, then got to know there was a cracks in drywall. But still the builder saying we have to move and it’s our fault. I felt really irritated and had a very bad experience after closing the house. Before closing they were like making fast to close immediately and now they literally took one month to fix that issue and saying if it happens again we need to pay for all the expenses. I had a great experience with the purchase of my home. The people here are awesome and truly care about you. They called weekly to give me updates on my home as it was being built. When they realized that my flooring was going to be delayed, they called to let me know and I had a chance to go back to the design center to pick out more flooring. Speaking of the design center, they are awesome!! Very knowledgeable and friendly as well. Love that I could get my refrigerator, washer and dryer put in my home before I moved in. I think the price of my home was on point, the options that are available are on point, and the quality of my home is on point. Once you are in your home, they will do a 30 day, check in to see if there is anything that needs to be done. If so, they are on it and will make sure it is corrected and make sure you are satisfied with the work. What builder cares that much about their homebuyers to make sure that everything is just right for you? I will buy my second home with KB again. ... More
