It did take time to get information or updates but so far, so good.

This being my first home everybody was extremely helpful every step of the way. I asked everybody many questions throughout this process and all of them did not hesitate to answer my questions very quickly.

We are very happy with this home purchase

I was extremely pleased with the building supervisor, Ryan. He always addressed my concerns and returned my phone calls in a timely manner. However, I am not happy with the faucets that were placed in all the sinks and the careless paint job that was done. For the money that I paid for this home, KB should of had better quality materials! Furthermore, the home lacks light. It should of had more windows and more lighting in the bathroom by the sinks. I also have to turn my lights on during the day in my kitchen. How is this going to save me energy? I also hate the toilets! I have to flush more than once! Again, I am wasting water, not saving water. Overall, the materials that were used in the home are not to my satisfaction! ... More

Part 1 of 2 Back in July of 2020, my wife and I departed from Michigan having just sold our home of 23 years. We arrived in central Texas without a place to live or a job lined up. We made the 1,500-mile cross-country move ourselves, loading and driving a 26-foot rented truck not once, but twice. We also needed to fly back to Michigan twice, all of this during the scourge of the COVID-19 pandemic. With two storage units full of our belongings, and living at a local extended-stay hotel, we ventured out to scout various developments across the New Braunfels, Texas region. Fortunately, we had done extensive real estate research, both online (for months) and in person, during our first voyage to Texas. As a result of our diligent research, we arrived back in Texas holding a very favorable impression of KB Home. That, in turn, allowed us to focus in more closely on particular communities. We actually came across Deer Crest in a serendipitous manner, as we recognized the now-familiar KB Home logo and signage on our way to visit another development. We pulled in to tour and review the model homes onsite. We met Marvin...and the rest is history. Marvin was our Sales Counselor but — in reality — his role would be better described as a Counselor. That’s because the KB Home product sells itself through a combination of impeccable workmanship, resourceful design, creative space utilization, quality materials, and an attractive value-to-price quotient. Marvin was professional and well-informed, able to answer all our questions. Yet, at the same time, he was friendly, accessible, engaging, and motivated to guide and assist us. We loved the model homes on display and it was not long before we were narrowing down our decision to a handful of specific floor plans. We developed an excellent rapport with Marvin due to his easy-going nature and manner of never applying any undue pressure. We genuinely cultured a friendship with him and our mutual trust grew from there. After 3 days, we had decided on a specific floor plan and we wrote out a deposit check. Since we were new to the area, we had several pressing questions and concerns about the ongoing process and timing of events. After all, I did not arrive in Texas with a job. We discussed our options with Marvin, who relayed our financial information, assets, and resources to the KB Home lending group. Within less than a week from our first meeting with Marvin, we were approved and signed our purchase agreement. We were the second buyers in the brand new Deer Crest community we now call home. With the comfort in knowing that we had secured our selected lot, we were able to leave the country to attend to the rapidly-declining health of a loved one. Marvin had described the time line for making our selections with the Design Studio, and then highlighted the important target dates for the various phases of construction. Before leaving, we had an opportunity to meet with Brett, the Project Manager, and Joey, the Superintendent. Both men were instrumental in communicating and reinforcing the “Community Team” concept that KB Home has developed and readily stands by. Brett and Joey effectively put our minds at ease, as we navigated what was the first brand-new construction home buying process in our life. Processing a completely different experience from purchasing an existing home off the market, we were teeming with questions and concerns. Our case was completely unique, as our loved one’s medical issues necessitated our being out of the country for stretches of months at a time. As primary caregivers, we could not just drop and run from our responsibilities, and we depended heavily upon not only a great team approach, but also a reliable liaison and consistent flow of information and updates from the KB Home group back in the U.S. At our construction orientation meeting Brett and Joey picked up on Marvin’s efforts, outlining the various phases of construction, and the process of walk-throughs and stage approvals along the way. All of our questions were answered and we were completely satisfied with the clearly laid out plan moving forward. While outside the U.S., we traveled between two locations. Throughout our journeys, the entire KB Homes team stayed in constant contact via text messages, email, and phone calls. We took a long time contemplating and considering our design options and additional selections and modifications to our basic floor plan. Working with us from the Design Studio was Shannon. She exhibited tremendous patience with our seemingly endless changes of opinion. Shannon worked tirelessly to accommodate our needs while assisting us with our budgetary considerations. Between the pandemic and our being out of the country, we had to conduct all our meetings online. Shannon provided us with all the information we could ask for, including design option guide books, images, the website tools, and comparative summaries of various design directions we could take. She even scheduled an additional online conference so that we felt completely comfortable with our understanding of the enticing array of choices and a detailed pricing breakdown of all of our selections and design options. We actually had to contend with three hurricanes in less than a month’s time. Despite these issues and a lengthy power outage, Shannon worked through the challenges. We returned to the U.S. to meet with Shannon in person at the Design Studio. This gave us an opportunity to see and physically touch the various materials we selected and make any final modifications. We signed our options contract in late November. Although nearly four months had passed since we signed our purchase agreement, the KB Home team was always patient with us, assuring us that our complete satisfaction was their ultimate goal. ... Good experience of buying home with KB

KB Home kept their price as they told me until I get a house, that's amazing thing. Same time, my friend bought a house from another builder, but the price keep moving up until my friend must to quit. Wonderful services, customer service of KB Home is really good, friendly and quickly.

KB Home and its subcontractors did not install the flooring and portions of the baseboard in my new home correctly, within industry standards or within manufacturers recommendations/specifications. Throughout the build process the original superintendent and regional supervisor were dismissive and patronizing. They disregarded everything I said, they ignored all the information I provided them that supported my claims and they tried to make me feel like I was being unreasonable. They even questioned the validity of my research and supporting documentation, stating “[I] don’t know where you got your information from”, when I clearly provided source information in multiple communications. They also stated that they had spoken with the Contractors Board and the tile manufacturer and there were “no standards they were required to follow”. However, they was not able to provide anything to substantiate this claim. KB Home flat out disregarded standards set by an ANSI-accredited organization, the ICC and multiple manufacturer’s recommendations/specifications; the result is egregiously substandard workmanship and a brand-new home that insights anger and frustration instead of happiness and comfort. ... We are first time homebuyers, and we just happened upon the Centerra neighborhood. The KB sales rep at the office was warm, welcoming, kind, and informative. He wasn’t pushy and just wanted us to find the perfect house. Our loan officer was awesome too. He lead us step by step through the process answering all of our questions. Our construction superintendent was AMAZING! He kept in contact with us once a week and answered all of our questions. Watching our home progress week by week was just awesome. Our home came out perfect for us. We love it. And, bonus, we got some really cool neighbors.

This is a wonderful house

We had a wonderful sales experience and were pleased to be able to visit the house through the construction progress. However, once we moved in we found that there was something wrong in every room --cracked toilet tank, carpet that needs to be removed throughout the house due to "lumps" in every room, bending shelves in the pantry, and many more. The warranty team has been exceptional, but we wish they would have done it right the first time.
