Communication was a little lack luster. Cracks in kitchen grout and moved in to a house already infested with ants and crickets.

I am an Army Veteran and have been saving up for years to make a down payment on this house so I could move back to my hometown. Me and my girlfriend were very excited for our first home together. It didn’t take long for our excitement to turn into disgust. On the day of closing, many things throughout the house were unfinished or VERY poorly put together. The house was filthy and there was still construction waste/debris in the yard and garage. The sod that they put in was already half dead because it had been sitting on pallets for over a week, and after it was laid (around April 23rd) it remained unwatered for two weeks due to irrigation not functioning. It is now 7/9/21 and the sod still has yet to recover. It is embarrassing because their poor craftsmanship makes me look like I can’t care for a yard. The garage door did not function due to improper install, the front door and garage access door seals fit incorrectly, letting pests in. I have already had to deal with black widows. Before closing (April 27th) there were multiple light fixtures with no lightbulbs. I have been asking for the proper Edison light bulbs since closing and still don’t have them. The upgraded kitchen cabinets have a horrible finish, and I have been waiting since closing to receive new cabinet doors. The upgraded granite countertops had scratches and were covered in dried sealant. The luxury vinyl plank is damaged in multiple places and completely buckled in a 4’x4’ area, and buckled in many other spots. The “flooring company” Classic Floors” has been out 3 times now to attempt to repair the floors. All three times, they did not bring enough material, and damaged more planks AND my property in the process. I am still waiting for a finished floor (7/9/21) Many of the interior doors are damaged, and I am still waiting for replacements. There are lumps under the carpet throughout the carpeted rooms, and they left the tack strip to where you can step on it through the carpet. The driveway edges are already cracking and crumbling for no reason. The lot is improperly graded, causing standing water to pool up at the base of the foundation. I can’t even mow my side yard because it has had standing water for over a month. These are only a few examples. Customer service and construction are very slow to respond to issues. I closed on 4/27 and it is now 7/9 and not even half of the issues have been resolved. The overall lack of craftsmanship, communication, care, and false promises makes me 100% regret buying from KB. You would think that maybe a veteran finally returning home would get better treatment than this. As it stands now, I openly recommend everybody I talk to, as well as you reading this, to STAY AWAY FROM KB HOME!!!!! And if you don’t, be sure to have plenty of time to waste, because you will constantly have contractors coming out to your house to make “repairs”. If KB is reading this, I’m sure you know who I am. First new home - good experience for me

Over all a great builder with a even better building superintendent! Q is the bomb!!

At no point was the process ambiguous. Every person that we interacted with was a true professional. The level of knowledge and attention was over the top. This is my first time buying a home and I felt like a complete pro mainly because they had a quick answer for every question. Since the first tour, they made us feel that our needs were being addressed and their product more than delivered. The quality of their work went over our expectations. I would recommend KB to anyone who is looking for their dream house.

Now that we have been here a few months, we are noticing an alarming number of issues. Windows are leaking when it rains, drywall inside is wet, soft and peeling from rain outside (i can literally put my finger through it), windows that wont lock, grout completely cracked open on the kitchen counter which is now allowing water from the leaking window into the cabinets which will ruin them and cause mold, kitchen cabinets not properly installed at the floor, broken patio light, AC did not pass some type of inspection, door handles through out the house all coming loose, water coming in from the bottom of the sliding glass door, not to mention all the cosmetic issues of paint and caulk all over the floors and light switches that we have had to scrape off (and still are), paint stains on the carpets, nails sticking out of cabinets, uneven paint on the walls….the list goes on. Not what you would expect from brand new construction. It is apparent that many corners were cut while building this house. We gave a long list of issues several weeks ago and have yet to be contacted to have them fixed. We are very dissatisfied with the quality if this house and are finding more issues every day. ... It did take time to get information or updates but so far, so good.

This being my first home everybody was extremely helpful every step of the way. I asked everybody many questions throughout this process and all of them did not hesitate to answer my questions very quickly.
