There were a number of things wrong with the house after we moved in but the construction manager and his staff were very responsive and quick to fix them.

Not too bad, a little hiccups here and there which was resolved by some calls.

Everyone was polite and very helpful

Closing date is critical problem. we didn't know until last minute. It is not easy for us to plan to move with mover. We wish had more time to plan.

We managed to buy a new home. Overall, the construction quality seems fine, and the construction superintendent was good at getting contractors to fix a handful of little things. The company was not impressive, though. The floor plan has quite a bit of wasted space, particularly in bathrooms. There is no gas service or phone-company service (CenturyLink) in the neighborhood. That means no gas appliances and no competition for internet service. Despite the company's claims of energy efficiency, the water heater is off the high end of the government scale for cost of operation. The sales person and others in the company were sometimes hard to reach. Avoid using the company's preferred title company, which seems to defer to the builder on everything. You get what you pay for and even a bit more.

We bought our house from KB Home in Valley Center, CA. I asked a sales rep not to rush closing the deal as I wanted to avoid any mistakes. She made us feel that we had no choice, but to buy one of "the last two" houses left, while a half of the community was still being built. Then she neglected to offer us to customize our house in their KB Studio. The house, which she offered was completely built out and we had no choice, but to agree to buy it as it was without any customization. The funny thing is that they are still showing and building those houses. Was she lying to us in the first place trying to close the deal by the end of the month? Had she completely ignored her customer's wishes? She could have offered us another house, which they were still building and let us customize it to our taste. After the deal was closed, we noticed that the house had not gutters installed. She told us that the gutters were the optional feature and should had been ordered at the KB studio before the house was sold. The problem was she never even mentioned their KB studio to us. What a catch 22 situation! :) As for the house, I think this a very solid house for its price. The quality is good, but if you want something better, just make sure you ask for KB Studio design session to be arranged. Otherwise, you will end up with the most inexpensive options. The rest of the team on site was quite responsive to our needs and requests, when we had a couple of small issues after we moved in. It wasn't the best experience or the best material that were used for the house, but we had a pretty good experience. Always got notifications, updates and walk through's during the stages of the build. The material could use a big improvement moving forward.

The loan process was very stressful and the communication between us and loan officer was stressful. They need to work on better communication

More design process when building a new home.

Construction crew is great. Sales team is slow to respond

KB Homes is solid on quality, design and build options. The issue they fall down on is the lack of follow through on promises made during construction. Big on promises, small on delivery. Constant squeaky wheel to get things done and completed; no modifications can be made - period. Constantly ask to fill out a 5 star review. You earn what you get, not what you want

A few too many days we had issues with, the major thing was a hole in the pecs water system .. flooded the master closet in the hallway leading to the master bathroom and throughout the kitchen hallway and washroom area, though it wasn’t KB‘s fault but it should’ve been picked up when the stove top was installed the paint was all pitted and lifted prior to us taking possession of the home, one of the downspouts on the rain gutter system was completely caved in, A lot of overspray throughout the kitchen cabinets and the tile floors.

Make sure you check every little detail. Homes are built with quality but installers cut corners like it’s the thing too do.

We love being a brand new home and neighborhood. For the most part, the entire process was very smooth and easy. We were very pleased with the purchasing, designing and paperwork side of the process. The structure and materials of the home are great but we are disappointed with the level of detail on the workmanship. It is clear that the houses are being cranked out and there is no standard set for a clean/neat job or for the workers to pay attention to detail. The caulking, trim, paint, corners and edges are very sloppy and rushed. Its unfortunate because this is what you see on a daily basis. We are still waiting on touch-ups/repairs to be completed after being in our home almost two months. ... More

Variety of floor plans.

Day of our walkthrough construction crew was still working, outlet was missing, light was missing and cabinets were not fixed from it being broken a month before our walkthrough. After issues were brought to their attention they did fix everything we pointed out. A month and a half later we are finding issues such as nails through poking through the carpet, stove and refrigerator are for some reason turning off and need to trip the electrical panel a few times already which worries me.

A lot of issues til now.

We love our home and the neighbourhood. However, I do feel that some finishings and quality of the materials could have been better. I must say that I had to be on top of the construction throughout the whole process requesting improvements and that was a little annoying. Some details like fence materials and landscaping should be improved. Ok the other hand, the variety of upgrade options made us feel we could give our house a special touch.

Overall I am satisfied with KB Home purchasing investment homes

When I locked in on my home . I was suppose to get updates got one update then once the home was finshed My closing was set back 5 times that was terrible . I found out some people got blinds that came with the home . We didn’t get any and some people got electric garage door opener I didn’t receive it . when I wanted to change the plans for the home they told me everything was already picked I didn’t have a choice . Some homes got a roof over their back porch slab I didn’t get that either why ? they told me it didn’t come with the home . I love my New home I didn’t have any problems with the build or walk throughs . The Grass was dead when they put it down and it still will not turn green no matter how much water I put . It’s horrible please be mindful when you pick a home and make sure you check on your home when they are building it . I came out every other day and watch the build if not you will have problems in your home . I also came out and continue to shut my windows and doors . If not “rain will get in and cause mold . The home buying process and closing went smoothly, and the purchase was completed without any issues. During the final walk-through, several issues were identified that needed to be corrected. However, four months later, some of these issues still remain unresolved. We have been in contact with the KB Home VP representative and are expecting all pending items to be resolved within the next couple of weeks, as previously promised.

My experience with KB Home in Wilder Pines, Lakeland, FL has been frustrating. Since moving in, I’ve encountered ongoing issues with the quality and condition of my home. I’ve reached out to the customer service team several times, but the follow-up has been inconsistent, and many of my concerns remain unresolved. One of the most challenging aspects has been the lack of communication. Promises to return calls or provide updates have not been followed through, which has left me feeling overlooked during a time when support should be a priority. I expected better accountability and service after closing on my home. Unfortunately, my experience has not met those expectations. I hope KB Home takes steps to improve their post-closing support and overall customer care. At this time, I would not feel comfortable recommending them based on my experience. ... More

Many materials are damaged like countertop, kitchen sink, bathroom tubs, mirrors and because they are already in place, it's not possible to swap out so after care team worked hard to help me fixing those. Unfortunately many items weren't fixable so I'm stuck with looking at those damaged fixtures everyday. Quality of workmanship was bad, too. All the doors are not sanded well enough at the bottom and some didn't line up with the door handle hardware so had problem close fully. Painting was crappy with many running over drip marks on the baseboards. Tiles in the bathrooms are not leveled so some areas had a bigger gap from the baseboard. And the shower tub had many scratches on the outside. Walking showers didn't have enough space carved out for shampoo and conditioner. Overall, it just does not feel like a million dollar home. ...
