Overall good experiences for the first time homebuyer

The experience was great from beginning of the process to completion.

We enjoyed watching our home being built. Everything falling into place and the responsiveness of the construction crew. Also had a great experience with the finance team keeping us updated every step of the way.

My overall experience with KB Home has been good. I'm happy with my new home and appreciate the team's help throughout the process. There were several workmanship and finishing details that needed to be corrected after closing, and some items required additional follow-up. I appreciate that the team has continued working with me to address these concerns. I hope more attention can be given to final quality control before the home is delivered to the buyer.

There are issues that do affect the quality of life with the new build. Loose bathroom fixtures, poor weather stripping for exterior doors letting insects come in at night and rust on the driveway. The privacy fence has warping and the boards are already falling off by themselves. The garage walls have poor mudding that connects sheet rock panels which look unsightly especially on a new build! Delays in the completion of the home also impacted me and add to the frustration, especially when you bring these concerns to the builder and they still haven't been addressed.

We had a great experience with our builder throughout the entire homebuying process. The quality of workmanship and materials was excellent, and the team was professional, trustworthy, and helpful from beginning to end. Whenever we had questions or concerns, they responded promptly and worked with us to address them. We are very happy with our new home and appreciate the overall quality and service we received. I would definitely recommend this builder to others.

The team walked us through the fine details of the entire process. All questions were answered and we were always informed through the entire build process.

So far I am very satisfied with KB related experiences. Top three strengths include responsive staffs, interior designs, and transparency during home buying processes.

KBHome is quick to respond to any repairs needed. The flooring could have been better quality but otherwise, we're very satisfied. The HOA Intempus, however, has been very unprofessional. They don't respond to emails, voicemails or answer the phone (the two people who supposedly deal with Platinum View homeowners). I've had to escalate emails to get things done, first by directing my email to their manager, and then to KBHome itself. It's been more than 4 weeks now to get everything fixed with my HOA account, but during the process they disabled my account access, which means I'm back to square one of having to escalate things to their manager to get things done. Simple clerical fixes shouldn't be this hard, and it is extremely unprofessional for the 2 workers not to reply to homeowners. I'm just the first homeowner to deal with them, so I can't image what a cluster**** it would be once all 30 platinum view owners have to deal with these two. My overly extensive time and energy trying to get any response from the HOA or get them to do their job has really soured me on living here, but hopefully when things are finally straightened out, I'll feel better about it. It was a great experience buying a home with ***** home.

We love our new townhome! The entire process was smooth, and the team was helpful and responsive throughout. We're very happy with our new home and overall experience.

Been creating my review, I thought about the entire process from start to finish. In the beginning, it was very enjoyable. We got greeted by a sales person who showed us properties and helped us pick out two different models, one at a higher, and one at a lower price range. We were never made to feel pressured into picking any expensive options. After we picked our home, we had made it clear that we wanted our home orientation to be a specific way, and then later in the process, we were surprised after checking with many different people during the process that our home orientation had been flipped without explanation. They were unable to resolve that issue by switching our orientation to the way we had liked, even though we had noticed it into the very beginning stage of construction, a.k.a. the form boards. However, they were able to remedy us by offering us a couple of different gifts along the way. There were also many things that were not explained thoroughly throughout the process, such as design studio, where we had been told that it select upgrade would only put an additional switch into our bedrooms for a different switch to be able to control specifically the fan blades. Later, we realize that there are no lights at all in any of our bedrooms or the middle of the living room. This is very irritating, but luckily our superintendent was very helpful and had the electricians put in lights for us in those places where we would've liked and thought that they were going to be originally. After getting over those hurdles, the only other issue we had was a framing issue inside one of the closets which was argued with us about initially, but eventually they said that it was wrong and they fixed it after several attempts after eight poor remedy, the first time. There were a lot of issues that had to be fixed during the blue tape walk-through. Mostly cosmetic. During the final walk-through, we found that several of the issues we pointed out we're not thoroughly fixed, including a door frame for a closet, which had nail holes all through it and had not been caulked or painted. This was fixed after a 10 day walk-through where they touched up numerous things throughout the house as well as some scratches that we may have made. We were very grateful for how kind Katie was during the 10 day walk-through where they even offered us several other upgrades for our home to encourage us to leave higher reviews. Overall, our home was built and we love it! It was a very good value for the price and we would recommend going with KB Holmes in the future. KB should tell homeowner any restrictions on the home.

Kyle has promised to drop off touch-up paint at least three times, and it's now been almost two months since closing and we still haven't received it. We were also told the house would be deep cleaned and the garage would be power washed before we moved in, but neither was done. These aren't major issues, but it's frustrating when you're repeatedly told something will be taken care of and it never happens. We really just wish they had followed through on what they promised.
