GIF in laundry room pop whenever you do laundry. Lawn sprinklers don’t work and my lawn looks dead. Large hole on side of house that we were told would be fixed but still hasn’t. Worker came to fix garage door opener and proceeded to hit the exterior of our house with a ladder and put two holes in the stucco. We caught the worker trying to paint over the holes instead of fixing that stucco. There is no power to our doorbell. Furnace just stopped working tonight. Very frustrated and disappointed.

It was our dream to have a home and at the beginning our experience was pleasant. However, we can’t believe it’s just COVID that has made our experience decline so drastically. If we would have waited to have our home just right we would still be living out of motels and friends homes. We have reached out to warranty multiple times and have had no response. Great reviews are wanted but not warranted.

After 2 months I'm still waiting for fake stuff

Sub standard material and selections were offered based on the price of the house. As an example the primary bathroom vanity cabinets have no drawers for storage, unlike earlier phases and model homes, closet door selection was sub standard as well, they had no real options for stair railing options. I could go on and on these are just a few items I had to start a list because it got that bad. When comparing the KB homes in this community to the KB homes in Irvine (which are priced comparable) the selections and quality are night and day. time consuming process ,it took longer than expected from start to move in.

Our house was 2-3 months delayed due to 1 person. Our lawn is the worst lawn I have ever seen due to a bad quality sod product and install. KB Home seems to think the problem will go away on it's own and are sitting on their hands.

I dont feel like they genuinely care about their costumers. They will ignore most of your concerns during the construction. You will not be compensated for the money and time lost because of their faults. They only care how much profit they can make without using high quality workmanship.

We signed our contract in January and we closed on our house November 5th. Communication was a nightmare! I had to reach out to them to ask what the status was each week. Unfortunately, we were lied to about a lot of things including the corporate office/permit department dropping the ball on ordering our permit. Thankful for Russell, who got involved with us and helped smooth the process but I can’t say the same for the so strict job person Trevor who was responsible for communicating with us from the meadows. He had absolutely zero customer service skills. The biggest disappointment was the quality of work done on the walls with, texture and paint. Looks like my 6 year old did the work and it still looks horrible even after they sent some people out to apparently fix the issues. The overall quality of work was rushed and not done the way you would expect when you are paying over 300,000 for a house. Hopefully they will hire new people and not continue with the guys who were drinking on the job doing our tape and float, texture and paint work. Something definitely needs to change! This is the first home I brought from kb, it will be the last one as well. The materials kb used were cheap and work was rough. The new house came out with a lot of problems. Feeing like builder was not professional at all and not knowing how to build a house. There were not a lot of options to choose from design studio. We were so glad that we didn’t choose refrigerator and dry and washer from kb. We were pretty disappointed at kb home.

It was not a great experience for the first time

Sales was rude, unresponsive and apathetic. The construction crew was not much better. There were several items that were not broken or not properly installed that they tried to hide as if I would not notice. The only positive was the finance team.

After the key turn over I inspect the house and hvac drip line was not completed, water over filled up on hvac over flow tray. contractors left bottle waters and a mess in the attic(unprofessional workmanship). Sprinkler have a trouble short circuit(took over 2 months for contractors to come out for repair. Flooring have multiple damages in multiple places. Chips, on cabinet/walls, loose trimmings, hood system duct work installation is poor, tub have a crack. No sealant around the sink which caused water to leak down to the bottom emanating the skin, gutter is damaged, windows have a scratch, sliding door to the back yard handle is loose, receptacle and switch does not work as well as electrical Miss wiring and multiple roof tiles are chipped. Contractors unreliable and can not meet on promising dates to come for repairs or no response. ... More

Still haven't heard back from Carlos who works for KB. Says he is the one we contact for all issues over the next 2 years but we rarely get communication back and when we do it's to tell us a false date and time for the contractor he hired to fix our backyard as it continues to worsen and dates keep getting pushed we have yet to have anyone come out to offer resolution or even assess the yard for what needs to be done.

My house was way to rushed. My garage door doesn’t work, my porch lights don’t work, my cabinet hasn’t been fixed yet, and the painting on the house was pretty bad. Just wish my house wasn’t rushed i should have to many problems moving into a brand new house. Also no one answers the phone when i need things fixed

We’ve already had several work teams come out within just a month of closing and still need so much more. Plus when they did come out, they used the wrong color grout. Have had a replacement window for over a month and no one to replace it and our attic door doesn’t even shut. Would not buy from KB again.

Pat superintendent did not keep his word. I felt like we were forced to sign the final inspection papers. When we moved in electricity kept on going on and off. Maintenance or customer service will be a 2 for me

The long delay to get it built then the hurried rush to get it finished.

Had a leaking valve was not taken care dor ver a week When i purchased [end of August i received the house with a broken glasss... right now is almos end of October.. they haven't fixed yet

We had great experiences with the sellers in this KB Home neighborhood. They explained things well and were attentive to what we were looking for in a home. They were patient with us as first-time home buyers and they celebrated with us when we were able to pick up our keys. When we did our walk-through, the contractor was very thorough in explaining how things worked, who to call when, and the best practices for the plumbing and electrical. Unfortunately, we do not feel like our home is complete because we have found some mistakes as we have been putting things away. There are a couple of crooked cabinets. The mirrors had to be replaced already. There are crooked light/electrical plug plates. Our garage door has no windows in it but it is supposed to have windows on the top. The shower in the guest bathroom is damaged and cracked. How did these things pass inspection? We still haven't heard when the garage door will be fixed. When should we expect that? It's these small details that have made us skeptical. Attempts to contact KB via telephone have also been difficult. I have tried to call Rich at Home Customer service a couple of times suing 951.445.7596 and he has not returned my call. I also tried to call the customer service number and there is a message that no one is working in the office due to COVID. This is understandable, but are you able to forward calls? We do not believe it should be this difficult to get in touch with someone to address the issues we are finding. Very lousy customer service. The window in the living room was not squared. They say they were going to come and fix it but never showed up. Does not respond to calls and e-mails. Very frustrating.

KB Leadership clearly just throws their customer facing reps to the wolves & leaves them hanging with little to no true managerial support. Its sad, its just hard to see the age old concept of a 'faceless corp.' at work... This company clearly cares about profits & investors far more then they could ever care about the person that is spending their life savings on their product? Too bad, they could be such a better company if they just tried to listen & understand their customers concerns...

The kitchen cabinet (style and color) selection was not to our liking. There was very limited choice. In the end, we had to repaint the whole cabinetry. Also within month of moving-in, one of the cabinet drawers door fell down - poor quality and materials.

We closed at the end of August and the house still has many punch list items that have not been addressed.

We've had a few problems. 1: heater was never hooked up properly. 2. Whole house fan stopped working after trying to turn it on once. 3. Communication to customer was lacking or non-existent. 4. Brand new countertops were faulty and had to all be replaced. Communication to Construction crew on behalf of Customer was lacking or non-existent. All our problems were eventually fixed, but they really were fixed thanks to construction crew because KB themselves did not communicate to construction crew or customer very well. We had to replace the brand new countertops after weeks of asking for repair or fix. Then when the "fix" was approved, we were only contacted by countertop company, NOT KB homes. Attempt to replace the countertops was never conevyed to Construction crew on site (who needed to be a part of any touchups afterwards and before repairs, unhook sinks and remove stove) Construction crew once again saved the day. They were very good at communicating and helping get all things in order while KB did not communicate with them or us. KB has left a bad taste in my mouth as a new build home buyer. The people were great, but the construction was not. I can tell their homes are quick construction builds with many mistakes throughout, and the community is not done (shutters are missing paint, dents in the gutters, paint missing on buildings, etc.). I have submitted numerous requested for repairs and haven't gotten many follow-ups.
