There were a few bumps in the road getting our deal done, but it all worked out. I only have 2 real complaints about the build. #1, the price to add a cover over a mere 10x10 square and the price to extend the patio just 5ft is way too high. The patio cover was out of our price range, so we considered extending the patio another 5ft. But due to the building restrictions, we couldn't do that and would have to extend another 10x10, even though the price sheets gives you prices by the sqft as though you could just get a few feet added. Since we would have to get another 10x10, that priced us out of our budget. #2, the grass. Our home was built/completed in July/August, while Houston was going through a drought. As you can imagine almost ALL MY SOD WAS DOA. I was there the day it was laid, and most of the grass was already dead. Even after we moved in and I asked for replacement pieces, we were still in the drought and they just brought more half-dead sod. Since our grass isn't covered by the warranty, it would be nice to ensure everyone gets fresh/green sod. I'd rather move into a house with the yard not complete, than to move into a yard completed with dead grass. Advise to buyers, stay on top of the things that the warranty will take care of. Save your handler's number on your phone! Other than those 2 things the build process was fairly smooth..my building supervisor Michael was easily available, Darrell was also a great help at answering all my questions and easing my concerns. ... The KB Home team is great, and they provide a lot more updates than I expected. However, the finish work on the construction was decent to good, but many things were missed that we had to bring up to avoid delays. The customization options are amazing, but I would like to see more sample photos of homes that picked many of the options to choose from as examples. They do not offer good photo examples currently. We had a bad experience with our mortgage originator, who provided conflicting information about closing costs which caused a one week delay during closing. The last thing I’ll say is that the backyards need to be smoothed out and actually checked for nails, screws and other supplies left behind by the construction crews because our backyard was LITTERED with this stuff, which could have injured one of our dogs during the first couple of weeks we were there. This is my 3rd KB Home. This home was a "Move in ready" and was just what we were looking for, but the Customer service "after the sale" has been awful. There was things that were "supposed" to be things done to the home for us prior to us moving in...they were not...and still have not been taken care of Yet. Very disappointing. We actually feel like we were "Hustled" by a used car salesman.

From the start we had a great experience with sales. We were able to select the lot, elevation and design options we wanted. The design studio was incredibly meticulous and that was our favorite part of the process. The experience took a turn later in the timeline with the building team. We had the incorrect LVP installed throughout our home which delayed our closing date. A wavy drywall in our great room. Our front door paint was botched, thankfully corrected within warranty window. However, now we face another challenge with getting inspection report items addressed. We understand this is not a custom home process however, the quality and standard should still be a priority for KB home. Highly suggest to visit home at least twice a week to ensure all selections are completed correctly. ... More

My home-buying experience was long and stressful, yet so worth it in the end. The quality of my KB home is not great or the worst just ok. There are a lot of things I feel could’ve been put together and/or installed differently or much neater. The experience from the loan department could’ve gone much better as well. More education and follow ups regarding the loan process and expectations of the timeline would have been very helpful and nice. Overall, I’m satisfied with my home and KB’s service to fix any lingering issues.

The loan team made it easy always keeping me updated on the status and any information I need. The build quality is good, not perfect but good happy with our new home.

Make sure the house meets your expectation before sign ready move in and closing. Don't trust whatever superintendent promise. He will forget when step to your home door.

Loans are expensive compared to other new home builder loan options. Loan agents are not responsive

Pretty good home buying process. Adhered to schedule pretty well with no major issues.

The sales team and design studio were wonderful to deal with. The construction team/superintendent, as well as the warranty team have been less than ideal to work with. The communication from both of those teams is lacking, and we have a hard time gettina a response from either of them. We've submitted warranty claims and claims regrding non-disclosed active wells on our property, and for several weeks, nobody has done anything about it.

Overall process was great. The quality of product use for the home is lacking. Low quality materials. The build looks good. Not happy that we had to lease the solar panel as opposed to purchasing it cause we were told that we were able to purchase.

KB must commit to improve providing a serious and profesional customer experience in every area of the process: Lending, realtor and inspections with construction manager. They really need to understand once they give you their word, they must honor it and respect that. They must add integrity and implement it into their core values.

We enjoy our home; it is comfortable and suits our needs.

The home buying experience is stressful time but they stayed on schedule the entire time and I closed earlier than expected. There was little choice of selection of finishes unless you wanted to upgrade….for the price they should have offered more options included in price. Just moved in so my issues are being taken care of slowly. Everyone has been courteous and helpful.

The process was great throughout the lending, choosing, and building process until the end. There was a great deal of push back from the sales rep Laura and superintendent Jason on my deserve to get and independent inspection done. After I understood why, as the house had a number of things wrong with it. I bought a new home so I wouldn’t have to worry about maintenance but the condition the house was in at the final walkthrough was not up to expectations

Belinda was very receptive and helpful during the buying and closing process Scoot was very helpful in the move in and when we needed any repairs and touch ups

Overall a great home and look forward to living there for years to come. Be builder can be a little slow in address issue after moving in. But overall good
