I had an overall good experience except for when i needed to communicate with the financial consultant. He would take days to respond to messages. After moving in when repairs needed to be made it was annoying to have different people come in different days rather than have all the repair me come out on the same day which meant i had to get multiple days off work. And some worker would not even show up on the day they were scheduled.

We managed to buy a new home. Overall, the construction quality seems fine, and the construction superintendent was good at getting contractors to fix a handful of little things. The company was not impressive, though. The floor plan has quite a bit of wasted space, particularly in bathrooms. There is no gas service or phone-company service (CenturyLink) in the neighborhood. That means no gas appliances and no competition for internet service. KB Homes is solid on quality, design and build options. The issue they fall down on is the lack of follow through on promises made during construction. Big on promises, small on delivery. Constant squeaky wheel to get things done and completed; no modifications can be made - period. Constantly ask to fill out a 5 star review. You earn what you get, not what you want

We love being a brand new home and neighborhood. For the most part, the entire process was very smooth and easy. We were very pleased with the purchasing, designing and paperwork side of the process. The structure and materials of the home are great but we are disappointed with the level of detail on the workmanship. It is clear that the houses are being cranked out and there is no standard set for a clean/neat job or for the workers to pay attention to detail. We love our home and the neighbourhood. However, I do feel that some finishings and quality of the materials could have been better. I must say that I had to be on top of the construction throughout the whole process requesting improvements and that was a little annoying. Some details like fence materials and landscaping should be improved. Ok the other hand, the variety of upgrade options made us feel we could give our house a special touch.

would not recommend upgrading your title. KB tile contractors have sloppy work floor is uneven and the grout is three different colors in our new home. Tile company did not even have a wet saw. My son is 18 months old and will stumble when walking to the house on uneven tiles. The other trades seem to do a little bit better for KB. My recommendation would be save your money. Don’t upgrade find a professional that can do it right after you’re in your house.

Good house, but they're slow on warranty issues

I like my new house and in general it's well built. However, I've had a couple of warranty issues that have been open for more than 2 months without being resolved.

I moved in to a new town home at Metro II @ Comm Hill. The location of the community and floor plan is really unique. These factors led me to make the purchase. Overall I think it was a good decision. I was surprised however by the sub-par quality of workmanship all throughout the house. Several chips and scratches in the wood on doors, cabinets, etc. Paint drops on the floor. Misaligned doors. The list goes on and on. For the money I paid I expected much higher quality.

Some of the materials, like the tiles around the front of my house are already chipping/shattering. Seems like either a cheap product or default. Window and sliding glass door not installed properly.

The construction and buying process was fine. Mike and Janette were responsive and kept me updated regularly. When concerns or issues came up, both Mike and Janette were quick to resolve them, they are true professionals. The closing process was a joke. Amanda at the closing office made this part of the process more difficult than it needed to be. Lack of communication, unprofessional communication, lack of follow through and lack of partnering with the mortgage company were just a few of the issues. AC designs have had to come out multiple times to repair AC unit. It's an inconvenience and still have to work with them. I wish the house was finished and tested everything before we moved in. We are still dealing with some issues with plumbing and missing fixtures.

I got to say the quality of the materials are very good a solid foundation. The value for the home I think I paid a little to much it was a new plan and the layout didn't have that open layout I was looking for. I order a cabinet two months before closing and still haven't come in from the manufacture. We closed a six weeks ago and still have not received my kitchen cabinet and now seems to know when are if it's been order.
