Good experience overall, however closing process was rushed and a few issues that needed to be fixed should have been done so before closing rather than rush and get to it afterwards. Since then there has been delays with repairs and poor communication. A lot of the issues wouldn’t be there if workmanship was better.

I dealt mostly with Jeannette and Brooke. They both were diligent and helpful with all of my requests.

So far I have ran into many issues. I have a bad Carpenter ant infestation. Part of my walls weren’t even painted right. The pavement on the driveway has things not right. The construction people made a lot of mistakes. I would not recommend KB Homes. The lenders were hard to get along with. Susan C. the sales associate has been great.

Our experience from the beginning was great. The sales staff did a great job of communicating the status of everything. Initially we had great communication with the building manager, but all of that changed drastically in the last 2 months. Communications ceased to exist and our closing date changed 6 times. We closed with a list of items that needed to be fixed promised by the builders. Months later we are still dealing with several of these issues. We first signed a contract with KB Homes in June of 2022. Ingrid was great at walking us through the process when we signed and the project manager had promised a delivery before Thanksgiving. Ingrid was more conservative with an estimate of mid-December. We had the hurricane move through and expected delays. There was no significant impact in the development and work continued. Work fell behind and we only knew by tracking expected closing on the app. Ingrid was always good at trying to get information for us, but the project manager was not keeping any sort of schedule and not passing on information at all. They were six months past the closing date when we were finally ready for closing. The underwriters discovered a situation with the financing options two days before closing that had a significant impact on our financing options. They had the information for four months and only found it two days prior. There were a few problems with the final build, however the new project manager was very helpful in getting the build back on track in the last two months. He was very helpful during our walk through and even after we moved in. Ingrid and Tiffany were both great to work with and went above and beyond expectations during our last week getting things straight for closing. I would say our experience was up and down as first-time home buyers. I do think the process was interesting. You need a lot of patience as it took us almost a year to build. I do think that they would have clear contact information once you move and the communication could be a little better also who you need to contact for what since you have a warrant on the house?

Cindy my selling agent was great. I do not like the fact that certain things were left unfinished and sloppy, granted they have been fixed, but I guess things were being rushed to meet a deadline.

They are taking a lot of time in taking care of my warranty issues.

We closed on our new home with multiple punch list items needing to be addressed. The project manager(s) seem to be doing their best to get all the subcontractors back to the house to complete all items to our expectation. I can understand how hard it is to get subcontractors back once the closing occurred, but I wish more could be done. We closed over 60 days ago.

Overall, the buying experience was pretty good. The salesperson was great and we got lucky with a good (but busy) construction manager. Timeliness to fix issues is decent for the most part (except the big projects and contracted companies like windows/cabinets). Still waiting on a lot to get finished and do feel like nothing from the New Home Orientation Walkthrough was actually addressed for the final walkthrough (just couldn't delay closing so needed to accept it as is-terrible position to put people in). Still unhappy about my driveway which had large cracks on every pad except the one they had already replaced and doesn't match - my driveway within the first month on my new build $400k home looks like Frankenstein and is such a huge eyesore, only thing I absolutely HATE about this house. The walls are THIN, like drywall anchors just go straight through so good luck hanging anything unless you're lucky enough to find a stud. I was told they're 16", but have found most are 24"-28" unless it's an exterior wall & definitely not thrilled about that. The rounded corners buckle as soon as they're barely hit, so be VERY careful even touching them. They are an extremely thin material. Corners get hit the most so for these to be so flimsy is kind of crazy, and I can't believe what they use is even acceptable on a build. On the good side, we looked at a LOT of homes, both new and previously owned, and KB Home hands down has the best floorplans. Like there's no comparison. All the new build homes are too close together so can't judge them on that, but also they're SUPER close together. The build itself needs work, and better quality materials. All the new home spec-type builders build this way and it's unfortunate that they're allowed to use such cheap materials and still charge an arm & a leg for a home. Sales team and finance department were great, buying process itself was great, construction manager has been great (definitely a huge plus to have one that actually seems to care to very, very thankful for that). We are finally in our home. For the most part we are very satisfied. There were minor areas that needed attention but because of the good construction supervisor Andrew they have been taken care of. The house is nice and KB built a good house.

The cabinets are really poor quality. I was very disappointed with my cabinet installation. The white countertops are also stained from construction materials, I've been trying to clean these stains for over a month and they're still there (circle suction cup marks, caulk residue, scratches from tools). It felt like the cabinets had already been used and all the screws in the doors are loose and about to fall out.

I am not satisfied with the quality of workmanship. Things keep falling out of place.

The hoa is a mess. The fee mentioned when buying the house is completely different from the hoa fee that needs to be paid now. It has been processed for two weeks, and there is still no result. Some workers such as the hoa property manager are playing football to shirk responsibility! If you buy a house again, you probably won’t choose KB！

HOME BUYING IS STRESSFUL. TAKE YOUR TIME.

Pressed board kitchen cabinets and vanities, not even wood. Front door fell off one of the kitchen drawers after only 6 wks in the house. No drawers in either vanity cabinets. Refrig door handle falling off. Cheap bathroom fixtures. Kitchen cabinets too far up from the counter top. Can only reach first 2 shelves, others are useless. Just a lot of short cuts.

Process is slow on loan approval due to poor communication between builder , loan coordinator and appraiser. Appraiser was not communicating well

Nice experience but difficult to get help with warranties

Service after the sale has been disappointing at best!

KB homes is a great place to buy your dream house. I really love my new house. Just wish I had prior experience buying a house so I could get certain things inplace on the house before I moved it.

House is nice and energy efficient, but material used is below par. All interior doors needs re-adjustment. Overall, newer house is not built like how they used to.

We wish we could give 5 stars across the board, but in good conscience, we can not. So many minor flaws because the build process was rushed to meet a deadline. We sure reported at 10 and 30 days still aren’t resolved. Sloppy craftsmanship on concrete work, with un-smooth areas, chunks missing, materials sticking up and out of concrete. Walls have so many areas paint is missing, scrapes from tools to apply texture, Covid moneyed areas larger than 10” missed. Grout slipped all over floorboards in every single room. Caulking forgotten on bathroom mirrors. Most doors would not latch shut. Sloppy stucco work on the front of the house. Chipped tiles. Cracked grout. Sloppy grout work at particularly at corners and edges where tiles weren’t cut correctly and excess grout was put in to hide money stakes; leaving thicker grout lines next to neighboring lines. We love our home and the design options we chose, but wish someone would have explained consequences of not choosing certain things, and that didn’t happen. We just wish the follow through with minor problems would’ve been taken care of, instead we are feeling ignored because everyone is busy at the new development areas. The only saving grace for our build experience is that Robert and Thomas have been very kind, honest, and understanding about any questions and/or complaints. ... More

I understand COVID delayed building materials etc. I was good with waiting 9 months. Then every month past the 9 was excuses as to why my home wasn’t finished. I told them I was pulling out of the contract because the new home building excitement was gone. I’ve been in my home now 2 months and there is still stuff we are waiting on and things they didn’t complete before moving in (minor to them major to us) Love the home but just not a good experience
