My overall experience with KB Home was great, they are very helpful, and they were always there to answer any questions or concerns !

Our down payment wire was lost by KB mortgage for 5 days, living room texturing very poor quality and roofing subcontractor performance was way below par extending our closing by a month. Other than that, they were great overall.

As with any escrow there were some minor issues that came up. The big problem was the closing. Everyone at KB knew from day one what my drop dead move out date was for the home I sold and I was told no problem. Then I was told on the last weekday before closing that if I provided the closing statement and full down payment by Monday that I would be able to close late Monday and pick up the keys. I provided what thy asked for before 9am on Monday and was told everything was going smoothly. A couple of hours later I was told I may not be able to get the keys until Tuesday, which I could live with. We had taken Monday off in order to be available to sign paperwork and pick up the keys. Once they confirmed that we wouldn't get the keys on Monday we went into work. Shortly after I arrived I received a call saying that things worked out and we could sign and get the keys, so I headed home so we could drive up to Corona (an almost 2 hour drive for us), then the calls started coming in about every half an hour to 45 minutes changing from we can to we can't and back to we can again. This continued until about 2pm when I finally decided we had better start driving just in case we can complete everything. When we were about 15 minutes from the escrow company I received a call from them saying that they had been copied on all of the emails from earlier in the day and that they had no clue why they were telling me it would close as they still hadn't received the paperwork and nobody was communicating with them about it. I was told that the earliest they could do it was Tuesday and that we wouldn't be able to pick up keys until Thursday (Thursday is 2 days after I was to turn possession of my home over the the new owners). We turned around and started heading home while also calling KB who told us that we were definitely closing today and to ignore what escrow was telling me. So once again we turned around and started heading for escrow. Just as we parked in their parking lot I received a call from KB saying that we can sign the paperwork, but won't receive the keys until Thursday. Had we know this we would not have driven to Corona to sign as the original plan was for KB's notary to come to our home to sign everything. It was a little before 4pm when we arrived at escrow who closes at 5pm. I then had phone calls with the KB home loan rep, her direct supervisor and a couple of other people from KB who all refused to turn keys over as promised. I had been told the reason I couldn't get them on Tues was because it was too late and that I couldn't get them on Weds because it was a holiday. I found out later that the real reason was because the sales agent had already gone home for the day and that Weds was her day off and apparently nobody else at KB knows how to turn keys over) Finally the manager of the escrow company offered to call KB corporate office and get someone who could help as I was refusing to sign and was ready to back out of the deal altogether if I wasn't getting keys as promised. Went back and forth with that person for a while who was also refusing to guarantee I could get the keys. About 4:45pm I told him that I was walking out the door unless he sent me an email stating that if I signed the paperwork that I could pick up the keys and he said that I had to sign before he would. I then told him that if I signed that I lost any leverage I had of getting the keys and he said I already had lost my leverage as it was almost 5pm. I then reminded him that this particular home had already fallen out of escrow once before we made an offer and that while I realized I would loose my earnest money that I would still have plenty of money from the sale of my current home to purhase one from one of their competitors. This was our first time purchasing a home and to say it was stressful would be an understatement. Nevertheless, the team here at KB had our back especially the builder Jeff.

Buyer beware. House was great, great building superindent ( very important). Land services were shoddy. Landscaping was terrible. Lot not level, large drop off but on my property.

We need a four wheel drive to get into the house for the driveway is to deep. Jesse was very good.

Everything during the home buying experience was great in the beginning I didn’t have any issues with the selling agent at all she was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had, I can’t say the same thing for my loan officer and I have tried my best to put myself in her position as far as having the amount of buyers to deal with at once towards the end of the process I wasn’t getting a response like I was initially many times my text would go for a day or two before receiving a response phone calls sometimes would go straight to voicemail, my number one concern around this time was the interest rate was starting to go up and there was no discussion on locking in or a plan to talk when we will long story short I ended up locking in on a random phone call at the height of the interest rates, I felt ignored at times. I know my experience will be different than others but having to settle for an interest rates at its height really bothered me and made my experience very poor. Be ready to wait with all the C-19 issues

When we signed to buy our home, we were told verbally that our slider would be a foot shorter and the downstairs bathroom would no have a window. However, we were not told the gutter on the back of the building would be eliminated. You may say that the salesperson didn’t tell us. Fact is, it should have been in writing all the things the models and already built homes had which would be eliminated. Nothing. We could actually sue for the shorter slider and the window and gutters if we wanted because we were buying what appeared in the model and the already completed homes.

Overall, the quality of the build is great. Because the house is so basic, you're inclined to upgrade a bit. Decided to upgrade light fixtures in bathrooms and dining room. Big mistake. The bathroom fixtures were not centered to the sink and are closer to the wall. So much for having a design element. In addition, We were stuck getting a Lot that we didn't want, but agreed to it because we were told we could build a certain design on that lot (Farmhouse), which is the design we wanted out of the four choices. Two days later, we were told that we could no longer have the Farmhouse and that we had to have a certain style (Italian) because supposedly the plans were already submitted to the City. I feel like the plans would have had to be submitted much earlier if that were the case and that the Sales Agent must have known it was an Italian lot before telling us we could get a Farmhouse. Unfortunately, not being able to choose the style of home really messed with our experience as it's an option that is used to entice buyers to purchase with KB. The home wasn't 100% ready when we moved in, but the Superintendents (I went through 3 in the span of the 6 month build/purchase process) did follow up to make sure our concerns/questions were answered after moving in. Pretty good so far. Time will tell.

The responsiveness has been amazing. They've had challenges given I moved in just as the city was going into the "safer-at-home" measures. Having said that, I'm finding so many nail holes not filled in. I see what looks like flakes on the walls, but when I touch the flakes, they are actually poorly covered nail holes that when touched flake off to show the underlying drywall and nail. I have a shower stall in the master bath, but the tile cuts are uneven making it look like the work was not done by a professional. It was a difficult decision to buy a house in this price range - I think I expected the few upgrades that were done to be impeccably done. ... More

In short, good experience with KB, the service, responsiveness. Would recommend the team and ease of doing business anytime. From a value and workmanship perspective, I think they are mediocre; some paper-thin walls (sound), rushed finishes, carpet tags and bolts missing (though again, good service to fix). I think value (price) is ok for the Bay Area. But for the $ I would expect better materials.

Have had multiple customer service requests to be fixed after closing, however KB seems to be very responsive to those requests to get them resolved. Windows replaced. Still waiting call from company for Microwave to be replaced, stove clips to be installed (Customer service turned it over to appliance company as of 2 days ago), cabinet door replacement and a few door/drawer fixes scheduled Dec 31.

There were issues not accurate represented before or during the final walkthrough. Primarily, there is a significant termite infestation throughout the entire neighborhood. Another issue is the water meter was completely broken and is still not fixed. KBHome never even informed me of this issue, I learned this when the water utility company told me they can't setup an account until it's fixed. With that said, I am still happy with the home. You generally get what you pay for. Important too is that KBHome is significantly better than other production home builders in the area.

I was expecting a higher quality on materials as well as working. It seems to me Model houses were better

Do not use Kb lender , they don't know how to calculate mortgage payments ,certain people don't calculate correctly and even told when there wrong. This was also addressed to Nick the manager and still the issue is occurring.

The whole process of purchasing this house was a 9 out of 10. Until we started recieving threats to close the house or encure financial penalties, even tho the house was not ready. KB Homes wanted the closing quater to look strong, so deemed it necessary to harrass us to close before the end of February. Prior to this encounter we were activitly talking about but the house next door to add to out portfolio. Due to this experience we will not be buying from KB Homes ever again.

Angelina, the sale person is an angel, very knowledgeable and helpful. Treat my buying like hers, very kind and caring. House is good, wish there is more bathroom compare to amount of bedroom. WILL NOT buy through KBHS loan -very pleasant in the beginning but very dishonest. Make you to sign and says she will fix but continue to drag with same price. NEVER EVER sign something that you didn't agree.

I believe since my community was brand new, I experience unusual circumstances. My move-in was delayed by 2 1/2 months due to now power available to the community when I finally moved in no cable or Internet was available for a month and a half however the sales team was amazing so I can’t penalize them for any mishaps I feel next time, the builder should communicate with the city, and make sure everyone is on the same page so that all the utilities and amenities are available

The biggest dismay I had was in the time stated between closing date and when it actually occurred, which was about 4 1/2 months later than was stated to me. This of course lead to unforseen expenses both in storage and lodging for the unexpected amount of time which passed. Closing dates were moved 4 times before it actually happened. Hotel expenses are high. Also, better quality control upon completion of home is desired, i.e. cleaning up paint on floors where it bled over, making sure there are no cracks in light switch hardware, tighten bolts as needed to avoid repairwork within a short time after closing date. Also, window screens were missing and put in after move-in date by the home buyer, these kind of finishing touches were missing and desired by new homeowners ... More
