The experience was very positive until we started dealing with the finance department of KB Homes. We have great credit and credit scores and was going to put a down payment of half the cost of the house, yet the finance department (Mr. Aguilar) failed to be transparent with communication on items that was needed and the request for unusual request for letters for the home purchase was too much. In the end, it all worked out and we went with Navy Federal Credit Union and closed within 3 weeks after our initial visit with the credit union. They took care of care of a 30 year active duty ...

Overall I think KB Homes are good homes to buy. This is my second time buying a KB Home. The first home I purchased was in CA 30 years ago. Great experience! This is my second KB Home. It is in AZ. Not a great experience! I was mistakenly expecting the same customer service as my CA experience. I will only mention the major problem because of time. The home I purchased was completed in June 2019. I looked at the house in December 2019 and decided to purchase it. We moved in at the beginning of February 2020. My only complaints have to do with the quality of the build. I've had trouble and continue to have trouble with the white tile flooring that I had installed. There were red stains all over the house (and there still is some), but I just gave up after the 5th time they sent someone out to clean it. Also, our dishwasher and washer have already flooded the house causing damage to the floorboards. There's patches in the paint on the exterior and paint in some of the outlets inside. Other than that, it's just been minor fixes, but easily prevented issues.

House construction was delayed by 4 months, which is understandable to some extend but it wasn't easy dealing with temporary place to stay and having your mortgage rate lock expire since KB kept sending inaccurate closing dates. The home quality itself is ok. For being a new home I was expecting better quality in terms of finish. To mention a few things: nails sticking out the middle of the carpet, some gaps between floor and wall base, uneven layout of floor tiles that make a room look like its longer on one end than the other. We had a lot of issues with the house when we moved in, our Central air and heat did not work, we had electrical problems, paint clean up, exterior of the house was missing paint, just to name a few. But Gary our warranty guy made sure that we were taken care of right away and had all of these issues fixed. But we did expect the workmanship to be way better, to many unfinished details for a new built house.

We had an outstanding experience with all KB staff, however the quality of craftsmanship and care of construction was very poor in our first home build experience. We had trash left in our walls and behind HVAC units, carpet laid over debris, flooring laid incorrectly, missing electrical components, missing plumbing components, and more which has led to an unpleasant month of constant repairs and fixes after moving in. KB offers affordable model homes, with decent workmanship. I did not give it 5 stars, because there was no transparency upfront about the additional costs involved in building the home like the lot premiums, or what was involved in the basic model. Their mortgage company was also difficult to contact and get a hold of.

As the saying goes, you get what you paid for. There are a lot of issues with the home and their employees seem to be let go pretty often. This has been frustrating as I was promised something only to find out someone was let go and I have to start the process all over again. Their worksmanship is horrible.

I will commend KB Home for the speed at which the home was built. Sales person was very helpful and reachable. Few things to note. Insulation is very thin and the studio didn’t let us know how the insulation will be. I can literally whisper between walls. A lot of things in the house are upgrades and don’t come as standard. You have to spend a lot of money to build the house to your taste. It’s advisable to get an extra layer of carpet as you will feel the nails when climbing the stairs. In all, it’s a decent home.

craftsmanship could of definitely be better, unfortunately we did not notice the issues until we were all moved in, AC broke down within the first weeks of closing and it took 1 week to repair!, siding that had to be replaced outside still not painted and it has been over 2 weeks already!!. Definitely makes us reconsider our choice of builder...

Happy to be in my first home. Overall very happy with my purchasing and design studio experience, but definitely see many issues with the workmanship of the home—painting, tile work, etc. very sloppily thrown together. Sales and design team are great!

We bought another new home and their customer service wasnt nearly as good as KB but their home was built better. wasnt all upgrades. Disappointed in landscape although i know some of it is controlled by the area and water shortage but more trees and color would be nice especially with a corner lot and premium lot

The appliances and toilets are shoddy, the cheapest that they could put in. Toilets have to be flushed twice, Plumber came out and said it was the cheapest model of toilet. Bad water pressure. Back wall is 6 feet tall outside, but we can see into each others houses. Going to have to pay to have 2 more rows added (after HOA approval). Should of been added by KB Homes, since there is no privacy and considering we had to pay $5,000 more for our lot location.
