Overall very good experience but materials used could be better.

Cabinet are a disaster

I moved in to a new town home at Metro II @ Comm Hill. The location of the community and floor plan is really unique. These factors led me to make the purchase. Overall I think it was a good decision. I was surprised however by the sub-par quality of workmanship all throughout the house. Several chips and scratches in the wood on doors, cabinets, etc. Paint drops on the floor. Misaligned doors. The list goes on and on. For the money I paid I expected much higher quality.

I heard from my friends that KB homes were very good, When I moved to my new home i realized why they recommended KB homes. The quality of the materials they used is very good. What ever they mentioned in paper they mean it and you can see that when you live in KB home. I definitely recommend to go with KB homes.

Overall ok experience. There are a lot things I wished would have been different but the process did turn out better than expected at the end.

We’ve had some issues with walls not being square, and trim finishes and painting subpar. Also we have reached out to our warranty representative without response.

Need to give more options for the upgrades.

This being our first time having a home build it seems to me the materials used on the inside of the home should be of better quality for the price your spending on your home.

Overall pretty pleased.

The only down side we experienced was timing. House was 2 weeks behind schedule and the house was not complete when we did our final walk through or second final walk through before closing.

The process was easy

I am on the field at the options and the basic price were quite high. Or Charithing but KB Home has been responsive when we have had warranty issues so far.

I am happy with my purchase for the location I bought my home in. Only complain is about the finishing of my home. For the price I paid, I expected better value in things like thermostats, a very cheap COR thermostat is offered, and that cannot be changed if you don't want to void the warranty. Another thing I didn't like about KB is that, lack of hook ups for ceiling fans and in built speaker wiring system. This doesn't cost a lot, but we were not given any choice to upgrade too, as we bought the home little late in the process. It’s ok

When they show you the model homes the are so perfect. I am not taking about the upgrades, but the finish of paint, cabinets, walls, garage door and landscaping. I have many issues minor and major ones. The staff are amazing and knowledgeable but they are small in number and can't keep up. I have to wait for repair a long time.

So far the house is coming along fine. No major issues and KB answers within a reasonable time.

Some of the materials, like the tiles around the front of my house are already chipping/shattering. Seems like either a cheap product or default. Window and sliding glass door not installed properly.

The construction and buying process was fine. Mike and Janette were responsive and kept me updated regularly. When concerns or issues came up, both Mike and Janette were quick to resolve them, they are true professionals. The closing process was a joke. Amanda at the closing office made this part of the process more difficult than it needed to be. Lack of communication, unprofessional communication, lack of follow through and lack of partnering with the mortgage company were just a few of the issues. Good service

Good community, they still have some issues to fix but they are working on it.

We are pleased to move in to our new home in Elderberry, Portola Springs Irvine. We thank KB Home customer service of their responsiveness to our request of any touch up works that are needed once we move in. They know our concerns and schedule appointments quickly and have people come over to do touch up works. Thank you for the attention and courtesy that KB Home customer service has shown to us.

Some of the finish work is a bit sloppy, nothing major put details that really should be done better. Very long response times for some warranty issues that should be very simple to resolve.

We generally love our house, but getting certain issues taken care of is tainting the experience.

the quality and designs of new houses has been improved a lot, but there are still some rooms for KB home to further improve.
