Do not do your closing until the house is exactly ready and to your satisfaction they promise to do the outstanding work necessary and never have time once they get your money you are in your own.

I get an astronomical amount of automated junk mail and calls from KB home. Representatives begging for survey scores rather than offering solutions. I get contacted more about surveys than I do from the post sale representative that is suppose to take care of my punch list.

I bought the home while still living in California which was a challenge but luckily I had friends in San Antonio that filled in for me on some important dates the first was the walkthrough on my new home my friends drove an hour to meet with the employees from KB homes they pointed out a few things and we're assured that they would be corrected. On the second and final walkthrough my friends again drove an hour to meet with KB homes employees some of the things that they had pointed out during the first walkthrough were corrected others were not like the refrigerator door was dinged up scratched and was unacceptable they were told it was on order another thing that wasn't taking care of was the painting that was noticeable in the entryway of the home they were assured it would be taken care of another thing that was not corrected was the water pressure was still very low they we're told that it was the way it is because of the rain type shower head that was installed in the home. I moved in a week later my friends met me here at the house because they had my keys garage door opener etc and they pointed out the things that were needed to be corrected and hadn't been the next day I met with Juan the project manager who came to my home and I pointed out the things that should have been taken care of prior to my arrival he told me that it wasn't him that met with my friends it was his employee who I can't remember his name my friends told me that it was one and the other guy that they met with the second time I was told then that the refrigerator doors were on back order and that they would be arriving soon it's been 2 weeks and the second door just arrived when I looked at the packing slip it said that they were not ordered until April 13th which was after I got here there's still spots that need to be retouched with paint and I keep getting promises that someone will show no one has taken care of it since. I'm a little disheartened at the response that I'm getting from Juan who apparently is the project manager of these things I've also pointed out a few other things to one that are unacceptable and I keep getting another promise I just hope that these things will be taken care of before the warranty expires. I just noticed and reported to one that there's condensation in the study windows and he assured me that it was still under warranty and would make note of it. I understand that with new homes little things like this come up but I'm not getting the response from KB homes that I should be in my opinion. I don't want excuses I want action and they seem to have failed on that level. I also appreciate someone taking responsibility instead of blaming someone else again I just hope that this is all taken care of soon as I'm settling into my new home it'd be nice to not have to worry about warranty expiration dates and response from a project manager. ... I've had a great experience with the salesperson - Joel and the loan originator - Michelle. They were easy to talk to and work with. However, I only got to know the construction superintendent a couple of days before my closing while I should have been in contact with him throughout the building process. After closing, I came to my house and noticed numerous issues such as dirty windows and bath tabs, and paint on the floor. I reported that but no one cared. My windows and bathtubs are still not clean. There was mold in my kitchen, I reported that but it's been a month and a half since they removed my cabinets, and haven't installed them back yet saying that we are waiting for the cabinets to arrive. ... It was a frustrating process with multiple builder delays only to be left with incomplete items.

Sales staff was very nice and listen to our issue and addressed what they could. Loan department seemed to put minimal effort into giving us loan options or providing information about the different loan options, get a realtor you trust to help you. Construction was on schedule but did not repair all the issue identified during home inspection walk and was difficult to work with to address those issue.

I recently moved to vegas and was able to see the build on a regular basis. I identified way too many issues during the build that would have been detrimental if waited until after the final walk through. For starters, I paid to have the entire house insulated, all interior walls also. We had a wind storm one weekend after the insulation was in place causing it to blow out and all over the house as well as outside. The following week, they started drywall but no one replaced the missing insulation! I used a hanger to slide through the joints to show the contractor after the drywall had been screwed into place. There is more spots missing as I am starting to find hollow sound/temp changes. But it should have not been dry walled if they saw insulation blown all over the place. Next, the corners were to be sharp edge 90° corners. They were mudding the walls when I noticed they were bullnose not what I asked for. Again no QC. I was told there was not an AC unit available for my house and asked if I would accept a temp to close and a replacement would come later. I declined but miraculously a unit was installed. I don’t think this is my unit but I am not an HVAC guy. It looks like the units from 10 years ago. Also, The window frames were cracked in multiple places but they only patched them with vinyl patch. My light switches are far from where they “normally” would be expected, to include the master bathroom switch is located under my towel rack!!! …. I am addressing issues that I am still finding… I been reaching out but after 3 emails to Customer service over 10 days, I finally had someone respond and now I have repairs scheduled for this week. It was over 9 months to build, they could have taken a few extra days to ensure quality was behind the build process… very disappointed to the point I wish I would have not closed on the house and just waited for a different opportunity to build…. ... The sales, loan and design teams at KB homes are excellent. The construction and warranty teams fall flat on providing services and communicating updates.

This was a struggle from beginning to the end! Terrible workmanship and finishing on the home. The caulking and paint job was so horrible, I’m having to call warranty office every week. I’ve already found a water leak in my kitchen within a month of moving in. My walls were cracking even before I moved in. The warranty rep for this communique has been great in responding to issues and making sure it is resolved as soon as possible but if I knew what I know now, I never would have purchased a home with KB. The construction team don’t care and they will lie their way through any questions. They are careless, and won’t own up or fix construction mistakes when you point it out. Never again! Waited 37 years to buy my first house with my wife. With the quality of the house, wish I could have went with another builder, somewhere else who has high quality builds. We bought the home 2 months ago and kind of regret going with KB. Quality is definitely not a priority. The house was obviously rushed by workers who just want to get the job done as fast as possible. Not a craftsman home and it all shows.

You hire ppl that do cheap work, you use cheap material and i have been constantly on email having isues being resolved. Thr floors ate damaged and i have not been able to fully furnish my home until you correct them and i have been here over a month. My experience has been a headache- contractors in my home constantly repairing your low quality construction defects.

We were so excited to design and build our new home. The sales and design center teams were great. Everything after that went downhill. Our superintendent ignored every single communication I sent, items were installed or built incorrectly despite me regularly notifying the superintendent, and closing got delayed the morning of our final walkthrough, when I had flown back in the night before just for this process. So disappointed with KB. We still have broken, incorrect and missing items over two months from closing, with absolutely no communication from KB regarding when they will address these issues. ... My experience was very bad since the closing was delayed three times without prior notice. When they delivered the house, it had many unfinished things and some poorly done. Communication was very difficult and it wasn't because of the language, as they once told me, but rather because one called and they didn't answer the phone or emails.

I have requested time and time again for items that need to be fixed or repaired and still I wait and wait for repairs.

You will have to watch everything the construction crews does on the house - be an active home buyer and hold all the parties accountable. Do not sign the ready to close document until all is fixed they way you like it. If you actively involved all the little or big things can get fixed along the way. Don't let the construction crew bully you. It was less than stellar for my family and quite stressful.

My loan officer Vanessa Francis was beyond amazing. I loved working with her, she was the only reason I didn’t pull out of my deal. I’ll never purchase another KB home.

Great experience until you move in and then the great relationship is over and you are left with an email address to get issues resolved.

There are promised items still waiting on after 2 months. The simple little issues were corrected.

A big issue In the house is taking over a month to fix. More issues arise as initial problem hasn’t been fixed. Dealing with our representative is just a pain and an overall bad experience. She doesn’t know how to resolve and de-escalate issues/situations. Would wish to have a more professional representatives and a better built home.

Always be proactive with every move of the building process. If we did not point out things it would not be fixed until it was too late. Gary was a great project Manger once he took over towards the end of our building. This was very stressful and just could but surrender trust with KB because of all the issues with the first PM. Things were not disclosed fully until we noticed things.

Lack of supervision throughout the build process. Terrible response to issues/concerns. Complete disconnect of management and leadership. I would never buy another KB home. Quality and customer service does not exist.

After a 16 month build process, I closed with a list of items needing completion by the construction team. While we had progress with some, we are at a standstill with other basic tasks. After involvement of local leaders through escalating the matter, it is clear that my concerns are not a priority for them.

The experience during home construction was fine until towards the end. Felt rushed during final home inspection and was promised things would be addressed at scheduled check ins after moving in but never got followed up on. Reps would be incredibly slow to respond. KB home just wants you to buy and after closing the level of customer service takes a nose dive.

Extremely disappointed when I moved into the property. There were so many deficiencies with this new construction. It is evident there was no quality oversight provided. Some of the following deficiencies include the windows not properly aligned, several areas needed a new coat of paint, missing door hinge, missing seal strip on the front door and garage entry door, missing sliding door screen, access to the attic was not leveled and painted, dry wall issues, leftover flooring was scattered in the garage, dead mosquitoes on window ledges, rust in the tub area due to old screws, white cement or caulking bits were on the tub, very dirty sliding door track. Just recently, the irrigation in the back pounded on the back glass sliding door making a loud noise very early in the morning. There is currently a temporary fix and not sure when it will be permanently fixed. Also, just discovered and reported a water leak in the garage to Luke yesterday. In addition, thought dual paned windows would be a standard but it is very apparent they are not nor are the walls condo specs. This feels more like an apartment instead of a townhome. One positive comment is Luke and Gunner's quick responsiveness. They are very professional and make every effort to try and resolve issues as quickly as possible. This should not be a reflection on ther performance on trying to resolve these issues. I realize KB is using contractors and laborers that do not work directly for KB but the builder should take accountability for not putting in appropriate and necessary quality oversight in place. The property in itself is far below expectations. If I had known these were issues I would be dealing with a brand new KB townhome, I definitely would not have made the purchase. ... More
