Had a leaking valve was not taken care dor ver a week When i purchased [end of August i received the house with a broken glasss... right now is almos end of October.. they haven't fixed yet

KB Leadership clearly just throws their customer facing reps to the wolves & leaves them hanging with little to no true managerial support. Its sad, its just hard to see the age old concept of a 'faceless corp.' at work... This company clearly cares about profits & investors far more then they could ever care about the person that is spending their life savings on their product? Too bad, they could be such a better company if they just tried to listen & understand their customers concerns...

The kitchen cabinet (style and color) selection was not to our liking. There was very limited choice. In the end, we had to repaint the whole cabinetry. Also within month of moving-in, one of the cabinet drawers door fell down - poor quality and materials.

Final result was a nice home with a few flaws. The process getting there was slow, poorly managed, significantly delayed and a last minute mad dash allowing for small flaws to be easily overlooked. Perhaps that's the strategy of the builder. Overall the project seemed chaotic with poor project management resulting in tons of contractor rework because someone isn't familiar with scheduling and order of operations to build a home. There were multiple instances where the proceeded with the project without a prior step completer. For example, hanging drywall without complete electrical resulting in drywall patches with mismatched textures. Or insulating the attic without complete electrical resulting in the electrician removing or destroying attic insulation. ... More

There were all sorts of mistakes throughout the construction process, a few of which were major. It was difficult to get many of these addressed at all, let alone in a timely fashion. By the time we finally closed (after the closing date had been moved back many times), most of the problems had been addressed in a fairly satisfactory manner, but some problems remain today, since we were just not able to wait any longer before closing, and fixing some of these issues would require major demolition and reconstruction (e.g. entryway walls and corners being very far out of square). Overall, we feel like we got a pretty good value for our end product, but we did not expect as many problems as we encountered along the way, or having to be so repetitive and insistent in order to get obvious problems fixed. ... Homes are nice for the most part. Be sure to do your research and stay on top of things along the way. Seems like there is too much pressure to give people there keys but not fix build issues right away, that shouldn't be there in the first place. Holding trades accountable would be a good start.

Quadruple check your brick when it gets delivered, colors do not match studio. Double check all electrical. We had a plug that wasn’t even wired. Double check with your local paint store for the paint first. Our whole house is painted with paint they do not produce anymore. Therefore to fix a scratch. I have to paint the whole wall. Color can be matched. But paints are vastly different. Takes longer than they say it’ll take. Just add a few months. If they say June. Expect august/September. We were pushed back 3 months from our original date.

Builder does not response in a timely manner to fix issues. Have been in my new house for a little over a month and had issues with lights falling, sink not working, water heater leaking.

Home still has a few things that need to be fixed: Garage does not work. Patio ceiling fan does not work. Faucet water smells horrible

If I want to fix all the issues in my new house, Will they have to make the house a part and put it again.

Do your research first, get a realtor lawyer to review your contract and offers, visit your construction site every week, stay on top of construction.

Materials and quality of work is not that great. It was a rush work despite of the 7 months waiting. Customer service is great.

Jeffrey the Sales person was very friendly, professional and communicative when addressing any questions in regards to the sale. I was not pleased that after I had placed a deposit on the home, I was sent an amendment that the Model Home I was purchasing was being sold AS IS. The AS IS status was not addressed with me by the seller before I put a down payment on the Model Home. At times Fred, the project manager was not communicative and was slow in responding to issues I addressed about the home. In fact the speaker system was removed from the home and the walls patch after I placed a down payment on the home. I felt as if the home was not a priority since I had signed the contract. I feel as though I overpaid for this Model Home and was told due to the AS IS status it will be up to me to have any issues not covered by the warranty repaired. I am disappointed. ... More

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE THE HOUSE. But there was need to fix. I HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES NEED TO BE REPAIR AT MY KITCHEN AREA, THE ADDRESS LIGHT NOT WORK OFF DURING THE NIGHT, BACK PATIO ELECTRIC SOCKET LOOSE, BATH ROOM MIRROR LOOSE....KB HOME PLEASE FIX MY HOUSE.

Our experience has been mediocre specially with numerous maintenance requirements in a brand new house.

I had a great sales person who walked me through everything. Always there to answer questions.

There is lack of communication among employees. Very poor response when it comes to fixing issues.

Where to begin. The overall experience out of 5 stars regarding KB as a whole I would give is a 3 across the board. The reason for this is the lack of prompt, timely and consistent communication. Specifically from the KB Home and Construction Manager associates we enter acted with from beginning to end. Out Home Loan Consultant, Joe was amazing and very much a valuable asset to KB’s team. The Design Studio, although there were minor errors on a few things, which they worked quickly to get correct and resolved, were fantastic! Our construction manager for Medford Lakes was not at the standard the other 2 areas I just mentioned above. He made it a point on a consistent basis to add in almost every conversation, “Now when you get that survey, be sure to give 10’s and 5’s across the board.” He pointed out to us on many occasions, that if we didn’t not give those ratings across the board, it still affected him. I didn’t like the fact that by him saying that to us made us feel that if we didn’t that he would give us a harder time of the issues we brought up during our build. I’m sure he wouldn’t but it sure felt that way. He did provide push back several times and we stood firm with what we wanted. Steve did make efforts to fix the areas in which we asked him to have his guys do, but it was only as the cost for a 10 or 5 star rating. Those experiences, although fixed, didn’t yield a high rating. If he and his team was perfect, the issues we brought up wouldn’t have been issues. Steve said he’d do things and they weren’t done. Still to this day as I write, I haven’t received small items that he said he’d do. I don’t need them anymore as I went ahead and took care of the need. It’s the principle, mean what you say and be a person of your word. Not for the cause of a desired rating. Again, all in all, Steve and his team and the KB Home Loans team and the experiences they provided me during my journey of KB Home ownership was nothing greater than a 3 out of 5 start or 7 out of 10 rating. Id like to provide a KB build recommendation for its homes and that would be to consider having insulation placed in the walls throughout the house. As we’ve lived in the house, we’ve learned that you hear everything and the walls are very much thin because of it. An added layer of insulation would help tremendously in the interior walls. I understand the home is an efficiency rated home and doesn’t need that, but for the sounds you hear when faucets, doors shut, conversations, etc. this would be an added benefit. The screen porch door and sliding doors aren’t sealed and the screen door doesn’t stay on the track. The window screens for the house, don’t say in place and have measurement issues that cause them to not fit properly. The cabinetry caulked to the wall has already separated in the kitchens and bathrooms. The concrete floors when poured are not even. There is a crack in the ceiling in our entry way. The front door bottom seal doesn’t seal properly when shut. The garage door has the same issue as there is a visible and noticeable gap. The blinds don’t crank and turn smoothly. There are quite a few things that for a new home and only being in it for 3-4 months seem like shouldn’t be. Our first home-buying experience was ok in the end, but not this 2nd time. We had a flooring issue the first time that was resolved before we closed. Through that experience we feel that the rating system is off in our opinion. We gave a 9/10 due to the problems with the floor, but had the construction manager at our door pleading it be changed to a 10. We thought 9/10 was pretty darn good considering the flooring headache. Otherwise, that first experience was ok. Now we move on to this next experience. It has become a nightmare. The home is way way way more expensive than our first KB home, but the quality of workmanship is worse(the materials seem ok though). The workers seem to not be skilled in their respective roles (painter, carpet installer, etc. All except the worker that installed our backsplash, who gets an A+!). The construction manager is a nice fella & seems to try hard, but has way too much to do and continues to make promise after promise. The home closed with several problems being promised to be resolved later. We either get put off and put off, or the fixes are horribly done or cause worse problems. Most of our neighbors have experienced similar experiences, and some are waiting even after nearly a year. We are all disappointed and worn out. But, given the rating system issue, we are not really allowed to rate anything less than a 10 for fear folks may lose their jobs. The pressure to rate a 10 is through the roof! Though the build manager promises to fix things, many fixes are worse than the original problem. We are exhausted and worn from cleaning paint off floors, trying to schedule repair folks to come fix problems several times over, managing the manager, etc. etc. etc. I knew it was KB when I began, but was hoping it would at least be as good of an experience as our first KB home despite the problems then. It is way way worse in this community. Sales guy is AWESOME, but the rest of our experience has been beyond exhausting. Beware this Community...the neighbors are nice, but the build process and horrible workmanship and need to have things fixed over & over & over is a nightmare. :( Overall, KB seems just as fine as other builders in it's price-range/caliber. But this community...ay caramba. And with the rating pressure for a 10/10, what recourse do we have? I love my floor plan, which is why we bought with KB a 2nd time, but I am worn to a frazzle and quite disappointed with the build process & quality this time around :( :( :(. Thank you. ... More

Plumbing contractor states loose sink does not need to be fixed. Painter was good but contractor that does medicine cabinet replaced damaged medicine cabinet with another damaged medicine cabinet. Contractors have no regard for dirt as they track in mud with their boots and do not offer to clean up their mess.

We have had issues with flooring, a crack in the ceiling in the master bedroom, and the exterior paint. These concerns were addressed promptly but after a month repairs have not been made.

I would not recommend KB Homes to anyone. Unless they really wanted to be in the community that KB is developing. Build quality, craftsmanship and finish and attention to details is inferior to many other builders Like Terry Homes

The ability to get the site approved, financing approved, selection of floor plans, etc. was excellent. The home, however, was rushed and the finish work is terrible. Damaged door, drywall tape visible all over the place, caulk lines look like they were done by a drunk, silicon cracking around sinks within a month. Responses to repairs are excruciatingly slow. 2 months to get a medicine cabinet installed that should've been there prior to closing. Worker sent for drywall repair made a mess and the repairs were horrible. Next guy did well to fix his predecessors work but then used the wrong paint. 3 weeks later and still not fixed. Construction crews from kb working on other houses have driven forklifts through our lawn enough that large sections of sod need to be replaced. Trash from other sites in our yard every day. KB homes is affordable for most families. Our best experience was with the real estate agent assigned to the new homesite. They definitely need to improve with the quality of workmanship that goes into the home.
