Make sure Everything is fixed before signing your contract otherwise. They don’t care anymore. They are rude and not listening if you have a problem.

House is nice and construction seems good in general, but 1 month after I purchased it, the Zillow estimate for my home dropped over 10% !!! The estimate first agreed with the purchase price and the appraisal also agreed. How could it devalue 10% in 1 month unless it wasn't worth the purchase price to start with. Buyers Beware of the valuation at the start or you will feel scammed too, like I do. KB Homes installs vents for circulation from each bedroom to a adjacent common area in the house. These vents in each of 3 bedrooms are directly opposite each other, creating an open window effect. I inquired with the construction supervisor and informed him that I did not want a window that you could look through (and even see my bed in the master bedroom from the living room!!!) He had the audacity to argue that "that's how KB does it in all their homes now for ventilation." We went back and forth with the argument as I explained that you can hear through the vent and SEE DIRECTLY THRU IT. I finally asked him if he would find that acceptable in His Home? He said he didn't like it either, but that's the way they do it, I then proceeded to request that these vents be relocated to more sensible locations to remove the "windows" and restore privacy to the bedrooms. Lo and behold he sent a sub-contractor over to relocate the master bedroom/living room vents to the ceiling and patched up 5 of of the vents. When the apparently NEW worker for the AC company came to do the job, unsupervised in any way, as usual by KB people, he went up in the attic and cut a hole in the ceiling from above (NO TARP OR ANYTHING ELSE) and dropped a lot of debris right onto the brand new flooring in the foyer, and nowhere near the master bedroom. I hollered from below and asked him if he needed a drop cloth or something, and I suggested he use my tarp. Not sure why I even attempted to help him at this point, but he said yes, I grabbed a tarp and asked where he wanted it. He said to put in the Master BR, and I did so. Then he proceeded to cut a hole in the front room (not the master) and drop a lot of debris into the room below and all over the carpet! When I asked why he just did that, he yelled , " I told you to put the tarp in the master BR!" I yelled back , the tarp IS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM!" He then argued, still yelling at me from the attic that he DID just cut a hole in the master BR! Since he did not even know where the master bedroom was, I told him just STOP working immediately and allow me to call the building supervisor. The supervisor called the AC guy's boss and he eventually came over to finish the vents 2 hours later, and explained it was a new worker, etc. This was only 1 problem I had and continue to have with the follow up. I look forward to adding more details to this review when given another opportunity. KB has wasted so much of my time already, I really just need a break. They set 4 hour windows for us to wait for these repairs, and often miss the time and call to extend the wait. The truly act as though we have all the time in the world to waste and repeat this with each sub-contractor that they send over, most every one of which has acted unprofessional in one way or another. When I have complained to the building SV, he has repeatedly throw the vendor under the bus, stating that he is "about to fire that vendor anyway". I finally am left with the understanding that KB is working with cheap, and inadequately skilled laborers. KB presented themselves as a full-service company but simply pass the buck and blame their vendors for everything that is going wrong. There are a lot of companies currently building in this area... Daniel came over a couple weeks ago and we scheduled a time to have some repair work done. I took off work for the appointment which was 1 week later and no one showed or bothered to call me.

We have been in our home almost 2 months and talked to the warranty twice and have emailed them and no one seems to care. I am very disappointed.

Great construction materials but final repairs and logistics issues not resolved properly in time.

Bought our home for the location. Not for the builder (KB). Not trying to be rude but honest. The house is one mile from our Church.

Home wasn’t even finished when we closed (rushed to make their nov. 30th deadline) paint quality is terrible it’s comes off with the slightest scrape, closed almost 2 months ago and still don’t have a screen door, asked for a fence quote 3 times and never got one. And home was filthy after closing, had to ask for it to be cleaned. After talking to neighbors it seems like we’ve all had this same experience so it’s not a 1 time fluke.

I understand this is a business but I feel as if things were rushed in order for everyone to get paid.

Sales and design ppl were great. However, construction manager T was not on top of ensuring house was built to standard. Many times he ensured me home was ready for my inspector, though it wasn't ( utilities off, major fixes needed, etc.) I had to put off closing many times cause of this. When I did close their were still issues needing repair. Building manager rushed me to sign ppwk so I could close, ensuring me the items would be fixed that same day. They weren't. It took almost a month for all things to get fixed, with me having to take many days off from work. Moral of the story, don't close until everything is to your satisfaction, as any repairs will take weeks to complete. ... More

The drywall, paint, landscapers, and tile/flooring companies are NO GOOD!! Plumbers & electrical are exceptional! AC company is ok. Brand new build my roof is already leaking due to the ridiculous open vents on roof. Do not allow them to put these open vents on your roof. Every time there is wind and rain you will see water leaking from your ceiling inside your home!! BEWARE!!

Close to two months after closing and still getting things fixed. Getting YES to death and wanting issues resolved. I still cannot give a good review with things still needing repaired.

KB Homes builds the houses their way even after providing upgrade options. They replace the displayed material with cheaper material for cost savings. They do not care to fix that even upon customer's request. As you are locked in contract, you become liability.

Seems like they finished home in rush and had some issues with home. Took them forever to fix the problems and there are still some that I had to fix it my self. Never had frame walk when they were building the home. Had few concerns during building process that we aren't sure if they were fixed or not because no one got back to us.

We have experienced more issues in this brand-new home than we did with our previous builder, Meritage. This speaks to a potential lapse in quality control and attention to detail during the construction process, which is concerning when investing in a new property. On a more positive note, we do appreciate the layout and design of our KB home. It's clear that thought went into creating a functional and appealing living space, and this aspect of the home has been a redeeming factor in an otherwise lackluster experience. In conclusion, our experience with KB Homes has been characterized by a lack of transparency, disappointing craftsmanship, and ongoing issues. While the layout and design of our home are pleasing, these positives are overshadowed by the negatives we have encountered throughout our journey with KB Homes. Do your research before buying a new built from KB Homes. The quality of materials used to build these homes is cheap. So many issues with our new built, what a disappointment.

Nothing to say about anything

Within mere 2 months of moving in the new built home we have already faced so many issues in the working capacity of the house. Listing a few here - patio screen door came off, no electricity in the laundry room, kitchen cabinets are coming off, master bedroom door lock is installed opposite way , 2 bulbs are plunging out of the wall, and so on. We put in work orders and only 1 work order was done and rest all are remaining. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING. We bought 625,000 home for this,????? Need answers.

Poor communication Poor follow thru Poor quality workmanship

The start of the buying process was great, everyone was nice, friendly, and communicative, but once we moved into the house, people stopped communicating with us and now we have to deal with a jerk who is our rep named Brett. I requested a new rep and the response is that we can't have anyone else. That's great customer service, make us have to deal with a jerk who has no interest in actually helping us or answering emails. We had large mistakes happen in the house and had to have them all fixed once we moved in. If you plan on adding an AC unit with KB homes, you'll want to check it when it's ran because they do a bad job at running it so that in just a few years, it'll go out. ... More

Bad experience with part of KB Home employes and quality of work

We’re just a number.

Many of the trades did poor quality work. Now we are 2 months in the house and still waiting for them to come correct the mess they made. Extremely disappointed in this. I'm still looking for reasons to love this house, but it's been a struggle. As of right now, I would not recommend a KB home.

The sales experience was good. During the build, some issues were brought up and were either VERY slow to address or never addressed at all. Clearly the sub-contractors rushed through their work to go on to the next job at the expense of sloppy, mediocre workmanship. Attention to detail is lacking. Communication was poor, to include nearly non-existent follow-up. Maybe this is all KB specific, or maybe it is industry wide with all the big builders. Either way, KB could do so much better by simply hiring a construction manager who was competent, organized, and communicates often and well.
