KBHome will build you a decent home quickly. Everything was completed to plan and order, albeit with slightly unacceptable workmanship and small issues. They are extremely slow to resolve issues after closing (if they resolve them at all) so I do recommend you set yourself up for success by not closing until all major things are fixed. I say major things because there will always be small issues with any home builder and thats acceptable. Price is expensive but they give you a lot of options. For the price, however, I would've expected at least a minimum amount of attention to detail. Sales staff is nice but won't communicate quickly and aren't the most knowledgable. I can recommend KBHomes but I must insist you at least get a quote from another lender and you higher an outside home inspector. KBHome likes to offer a lot of money off if you close through their lender (for me they offered $5000 off at closing) but as soon as I went to another lender I realized it wasn't any cheaper because they charged me almost $5000 more in other areas such as "paperwork processing" to make up for the discount. The have been several issues with the home that needed to be addressed. After multiple phone calls and an appointed date to get issues resolved, the are still repairs that need to be made and not looked into. We were assured all of our concerns would be addressed and corrected in one visit. That was not truthful.

Overall buying a KB Home house has been good, selecting the plot and model was easy. Then came the selections at the home studio, it was ok, there were some selections that they offered and some they did not offer but then when the building process began those items that were offered were taken away with the explanation of "Oh we don't offer that at that location/anymore ect." The items that the home studio said were not available I have seen on several of the other homes, it seems like no one know what was supposed to be offered. Then there were changes made some were beneficial others annoying. The build, you can tell that the builder(s) and contractors rushed through some areas more than others the quality shows and its little simple things. On a daily basis we continue to find things that were not finished or rigged to look finished. Some warranty things have been taken care of however the contractors show up do have the work leave then come out another day do a little work here and there, so you have to take time off work and rearrange your schedule for things that should have been taken care of from the start. Do not close till ALL issues are resolve. They will do bare minimum once you are in home.

If you decide to build with KB do not under any circumstances move in until EVERYTHING is complete, no matter how tiny. Give yourself some wiggle room before you have to be out of your current home and into your new home so issues can be taken care of before you close. Please compare the workmanship of other home builders with whomever you decide to build with.

Wish you could put in more quality products. Kind of cheap.

Home buying is not an easy process. There’s always issues. The main problem I had was that communication with the loan officer was absolutely terrible. It took days to get a response, but then I was called several times and rushed to submit items. I had two different loan officers, one was great (I believe his name was Josh) and the other is the one I had issues with. My main loan officer, Dais, would call me at the end of the business day and even if I called back 2 minutes after missing her call, I would get no response until end of business day the next day. My realtor would reach out to her and she got a response, but I wouldn’t. The processor was even worse. She made several mistakes caught by others, did not apologize for any of them, and made me jump through extra hoops that were not necessary. As far as the construction, several items were wrong. Some were fixed, others weren’t and it took forever to get them fixed. I do not believe the home was worth the price. I received little to no amenities. For example, other companies provide a garage door opener, window blinds, and even a basic refrigerator for the same price that I purchased this home for. I did not receive any of those items. Other homes are going for the same price, in the same location, are larger and come with those amenities. Unfortunately, I felt like I was too far along in the process to go with another company. The reason why I gave this review two stars is because Val, the sales rep, was/is awesome! He always got back to me in a timely response. Homebuying experience was fair, could have been better in my opinion. Quality of workmanship & materials are not the greatest. I've notice a lot of paint overspray around the house and especially on my floors! I don't have time to be scrubbing paint off my new floors! I've noticed cracks and nicks on my cabinets, and nicks on my shower doors as well. The list goes on... I don't believe the house is worth for what I paid for it.

All I can say is, have your builder fix everything before closing, after closing the trades are slow to respond. Holding up closing is the only way to hold the builder accountable for the repairs. After closing you are a low priority, they want the other houses to be built as fast as possible.

Overall we had to jump through hurdles to get the home. It has been almost two months and we still have not had all the things fixed in our house after living here for almost two months. According to the city, they have not paid their fees and finished the paperwork so we still do not have our certificate of occupancy meaning we can’t get trash cans, and I can’t put utilities in my name. Craftsmanship in the overall build is subpar. I regret not going with another builder and lender. I fell for the low interest rates which at 6.5% still isn’t that great. Been here a little over a month and have had a bunch of issues with the house from electrical to plumbing to paint. Thought I was buying a quality home from a quality builder. Sense of urgency is just not where it should be to get issues resolved. Not too happy.

Sales and finance were excellent. Rolanda and Brad did a great job. Disappointed with interior craftsmanship and finish. Sloppy work and finishes feel cheap. Multiple issues with the home. Resolution of these issues being accomplished slowly.

Homes are worth maybe $400k from a value perspective, advertise starting at $540k with low grade fixtures, appliances, cheap lighting, cheap counter tops, other than kitchen, everything is low quality unless you pay for upgrades. After $120k in upgrades, you still have an unfinished basement, and lack things you should get standard. Lipstick on a pig best describes KB Homes value proposition.

Moving into a new house should be a wonderful experience. It's been a nightmare. I referred 2 people and now feel bad for them. I tell everyone I know to stay away. I still have issues after 2 months because KB hires the cheapest laborers amd then wonders why we as residents always call

For anyone looking to purchase a KBHome, buyer beware that you are about to embark on a rushed, confusing, and pressured experience. Before the purchase of our home and for an extremely short period thereafter, the responsiveness and ability to make promises made to assist, carry out requests, and fix issues were satisfactory. However, the follow-through on promises and communication regarding the status of issues have been extremely frustrating. It is clear that is important through the rushed purchase process that the company places utmost priority in getting a customer through to the finish line of purchasing but afterward, responsiveness, service, and customer-first attitude falls off a cliff. I had to escalate an email to upper management to receive any attention.. and it still not completed to date. The package is pretty at the surface, but the deeper you dig, the harder it is to stay in love with the deal you made. Also, please be weary of the $10,000 upfront that you need to put in that they don‘t tell you about to secure your purchase!! If you choose to back out, you lose $10,000. Ouch. ... More

Trisha and Ed were amazing to work with. After we moved in is when we noticed craftsmanship issues and just the overall quality of work is not what I would say meets standards. We started to get issues fixed then that halted and we haven't heard back from anyone. The person who did our walk through said since it's after 30 days he can no longer help us and we needed to continue the process with Brandi, who has yet to return our call. Needless to say the sales office is amazing but the rest has fallen short.

Quality of our home is maybe average. Failed mostly with cosmetic items - paint, inside and outside very poor, caulking, scratches and dents on appliances, but also electrical problems, insulation. Fixing these problems has been way below acceptable. Overall, we feel we did not receive the value for which we paid.

There had been sooo much delay in the building process that I don't believe can be explained by the pandemic problem. There had been a quick transition with supervisors and I am under the impression that this is the problem. Nick is great but I hope KB can at least keep their good people.

The main reasons for the scores mentioned above was due to the quality of the work that went into building the house.

The experience was much better in the very beginning. I had to close without the home being completely finished. Almost 2 months later & I’m still told things are on back order. I have to reach out several times to get responses to issues. This is a very large purchase. But there are so many things that still need to be addressed

Very poor customer service, no flexibility. Would no refer anyone to KB homes, they cut corners everywhere they can.

Very disappointed to learn at closing that the neighbors yards drains into mine. I purchased home with seeing it as I was out of state. Seller agent should have disclosed.

Lived in my house less than 45 days and multiple things have broken, my garage wouldn’t work and then my washing machine broke. Brand new washing machine and trying to figure out who to contact and if it was under warranty or if I’m responsible to cover costs was frustrating. Everyone was pointing fingers at each other. I love my house but I feel like as a new build less than 60 days living in it I shouldn’t be having these many problems already.

This company has made promises with very slow progress in delivery. I am experiencing water retention against the foundation of my home. The rain water last for days. I have been requesting a drain installation however months later after closing in April now June no French drain just leave with standing water.
