Disappointed in some ways but yet happy.

We have been in the house for almost two months and the 10-day list we reviewed with the Superintendent and then Cust Service Mgr and now we must submit to KB Warranty dept. We have primary shower not complete, no shelves in linen closet, missing 5 window screens, drywall cuts and holes to be repaired, water leak in the pantry and drywall removed by the plumbing company needs to be repaired, missing trim, debris under the carpet that was not swept before laying upstairs, damaged hardy board siding and the list goes on. All these very obvious issues and the Superintendent did his walk thru prior to closing and said the house was complete. Nothing has been done to finish the home. ... More

The materials used to build this property are cheap and very poor quality. The work was done really bad. 2 months later still waiting on repair for things that were broken or incomplete. If they tell you that they will take care of you and not leave you hanging, don’t believe it. They will make you feel like you are asking for a favor, but you are really asking to do their job and give you what you paid for. I will not recommend, We are very dissatisfied and disappointed with the house we received.

Was told things were fixed after move in but they were not

Bought a "model" home. After moving in, I have a huge list of repairs needed and am still unable to use some of the upgrades I paid for. This is my 3rd house purchase, 2nd new construction purchase and the worst home buying experience. I am extremely disappointed with KB Home.

Not enough management overseeing construction. Everything is rushed and no one is professional. Do not follow up like promised. Very poor quality of workmanship & material.

The Tx loan compared to NY was very frustrating and it took over 5 or more months before they denied me a loan and I had to start all over with a different company kept me anxiety extremely high for the whole tome

What was bad was the person KB used to help with funding this home were totally incompetent. Had to answer the same questions more than 150 times. Seemed like she did not read or send the correct info to the lender. Very bad experience. Sherrilyn had to get involved sending our info to them also. The best is what received from Sherrilyn, and Ramon always on top of the job at hand. I would give them a 100% excellent grade for service in your new home. Also, AJ has been great to fix outstanding items along with Steve which has been very helpful. KB please do not use the same group on buying a new home. Michael was very good also, but Nyesha was not qualified to do the paperwork needed. ... More

The builder was great dusty but to be honest find you an outside lender cause kb lenders don’t know how to do there job Anita was terrible worse experience ever she stressed me out daily lied about everything from the start and then other lenders tried to fix her mess and couldn’t felt so bad for the guy trying to help but to many people warned me to get an outside lender I should have listened from the start but my home is beautiful love the open concept but get you an outside lender less stress

The floor left at the Largest model (1860)was dismally insufficient for a new home. Reguardless of your As is !! Model hone Purchase Policy...an attempt by myself and your Builder was made to attempt to fix the situation....after a professional cleaning and resealing the floor looked good for about 2days once completely dry it returned to it lack luster shine and powdery look. In closing we spent 8k to put a vinyl floor on the bottom half of this home...totally Disappointed...in what we got for 304k...

Some of the stuff in house wasn't placed right.

house was not ready when stated it was.

When looking to get a loan set up, the response time was very slow and a representative did not take the time to work with us. We had to go with an outside lender to be able to get the loan that works for us and give us details of what was needed. They did not comply with my outside lender with credits they said they would give us nor accommodate us for things they said that they would do. The response time I felt was terrible, but other than that the home is beautiful and the team overall has been great.

What an horrible experience for a first time home owner. They were very rude and unprofessional with me just because I got my own lender. The construction superintendent did treat me good and did try making me feel comfortable as much as he can.

The experience with the sales department was horrible. Other than that, everyone else were wonderful, friendly, and responsive.

Overall process was long and frustrating not KB’s fault but our Bank loan process. Overall experience with builder was great. House was ready to move in. There a few things that need to be fixed after move in that we haven’t received any response or done yet.

Elegimos esta compañía de construcción porque nos daba a escoger cada uno de los detalles que queríamos para nuestra vivienda , eso nos hacía muy feliz. Con respecto al personal y servicio al cliente , no puedo quejarme , realmente ellos atendieron y aún atienden cada una de nuestras llamas e inquietudes . Con respecto a la mano de obra , una porquería , dejaron tantas imperfecciones en mi casa que no puedo explicar , incluso después de realizar la última caminata . Llevo un mes viviendo mi casa y ya está llena de grietas en bornes por todos lados . Dejaron clavos en los marcos de las puertas por lo que eso rompió nuestra puerta principal . El llavín de la puerta está torcido , en fin innumerables defectos que se podían haber corregido . Por eso doy 2 estrellas porque a pesar de que el trato al cliente es magnífico, pienso que lo más importante es la mano de obra de la casa que se va a vivir y es desastrosa . Todo está mal terminado , para el precio que costo lo casa , pensé no tener que hacer nada en ella y ahora ando retocando gritas por todos lados aunque se que la vas puede moverse un poco hasta que se quede fija en el suelo pero igual , es demasiado , se que es mal trabajo porque estuve viendo cada detalle de mi casa desde que comenzó la construcción ... Maria and Venassa from the sales office was great. But the other part of KB HOMES is very bad; they change the terms and conditions without notice and all for you benefit and to halo your fiscal year

From the day I put my deposit down to close was 3 weeks short of 52 weeks. There were tons of delays including the week leading up to close. It seemed like the turnover of sales people, builders created an environment where myself, the buyer never knew what was happening or who I could reach out to. In the final month and a half they brought in a new project manager, Kelly who is and continues to be a Rockstar. He is so responsive and knowledgeable. The entire process would have left a sour taste in my mouth if it were not for him. I would give him 5 starts in every category possible.

KB has delivered greatly but the contractors they use seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel

Steve and dalton have gone above and beyond to take care of any issues we’ve had with the house.

Lending process was horribly non-transparent. House is beautiful but had to get several things redone and then redone again. Feels like I keep finding things. Many times acted like it wasn’t their fault for things that obviously were their fault. James and Deborah (real estate agents) and Chad (maintenance/go to guy for all fixes) are cool!

For two years I worked hard to move out of the apartment I was living in with the intent to purchase a home here in Texas. I was excited and couldn’t wait for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow which was my new home. I had issues with loan officers, I was TOLD the date I was expected to close with no consideration of my time and work schedule, made promises that were not kept and overall disappointment with the whole experience.

My family bought our house sight unseen as we were moving to San Antonio and wanted a house upon arrival. We knew we wanted to go with KB but didn't have time to build custom so had to wait for one to become available. It was a race to lock one down and we finally got one. The location isn't great and the house is actually better than it looked in videos. However, there were a lot of issues found during our inspection we ordered and there were some that they didn't remediate until I sent the inspector back again. Upon arriving to the home, I found more issues with poor attention to detail and damages in the home. I have just moved in so I'm planning to contact them to fix damages. Also during the buying experience I was extremely pressure to close very fast and this was my first time buying a home so it was very unpleasant. All the stress and pressure just for them to push the closing date back a month. Overall I'm happy with the home but I cannot speak on durability as I just moved in. Some things feel cheap and will probably need replaced. ... More
