The process of purchasing a home started out great, but turned out to be one of the most stressful experiences ever. Midway through, there were changes in loan officer, with no communication, and no timely updates. Appraisals took extremely long, way longer than usual. The entire process took nearly 3 months. There were many mix ups and lack of communications that caused the deal to nearly fall apart, but in the end it all worked out. There are some opportunities for improvement for sure. There are little things here and there that needs to be fixed. The Garage door is loose, some of the plugs are loose the bedroom doors have pints all over it and chips, also pint on tiles that we tried to take it off and it’s noticeable. Nails on carpets my little one got poke couple times.

Great Home, Poor Sales Service

As first-time home buyers, we found KB Home's overall support and responsiveness unreliable and poor. Particularly, the communication from the sales team did not seem professional, and wasn't as informative as they had promised (weekly updates were promised but nonexistent; we had to follow up each time). We had a pretty good experience with warranty support after the sale. While there were a few (easily addressable) issues in the home, we really liked the home design and construction quality.

I purchased the Redwood home model that did not meet my expectations. What I saw at KB Home model, the master bedroom had a bay window and he porch was bigger. But based on the the elevation that was selected, the bay window was eliminated and the porch was was too small. I could not even fit any furniture on the porch. My sales agent Did Not communicate this information to me. This was a major disappointment to me. After moving in I noticed lots of mistakes on the home and sloppy work which took additional time for the workers to come out to fix.

I’m sure it’s a great business at the top but I’m not sure who’s driving this bus at the builder level. We shouldn’t be using the word super in the description of superintendent.

Sales did not mention the home was being built in a flood zone. Although it would be changed months later it was an issue at closing. KB does minimum standards ex: your block wall will look unfinished as a row will not be finished. Talk about looking goofy. They don’t put down weed control so your yard will have weeds pop up shortly after you move in. Contract work goes without inspection being down. I love my new home, except the fact that when you have running water from the master bedroom, you hear it loudly downstairs as if the water is going to go through the walls and the ceiling. This is a little embarrassing when we have guests.

I have recently been having to deal with a gap in the insurance covers that was supposed to be paid by the lender/title company causing me to have to be wasting time on the phone because someone dropped the ball on your end. Not very pleased with this. I am not the first person that has bought a home which required wind and hail coverage so I’m pretty sure this company has dealt with knowing that there is no grace period with a new policy and so you all should have paid the policy on the due date as specified on all the paperwork that was sent to you days prior to closing. I didn't like that updates of the construction phases were not sent often as promoted. The home took 7 months to complete and there were only 5 pictures sent of the phrases. I hired a third inspector and felt KB home contractor was annoyed at the reports. It was not accommodate for home walk thru late evening. Overall decent but felt quality of work is rushed. I found beer can and pants during on of my walk thru. I recommend you advocate for yourself for the amount of money they are receiving there should be better quality consumer service.

We went through 4 sales people & 3 different finance people. Promises were made that weren’t backed up or fulfilled. It was a fight to even get ahold of anyone to speak to most of the time. Our final sales person, Jessica was excellent, as was our final finance person, Meghan. Gary, our super was great too but by the time they came around we were already frustrated and fed up since it was late in the process. We felt like there were lots of charges and items that were not disclosed until closing. We also feel like a lot of our questions did not get answered by the agent and our text/phone calls would go unreturned. We also had an issue with the appraisal that KB was not willing to be flexible with.

My experience with KB Home has not been good. First, our closing date kept being moved. This cost us more money for rental trailer. We drove to Texas from Los Angeles expecting to enter a "move-in ready" home. It was far from ready for anyone to move in! Our Toilet was not attached in one bathroom and the times underneath were all broken from someone apparently working on it. Our second bathroom had a sign on the Toilet that said "do not use". Do your homework, have patience and stay dilligent and atand your ground. Unfortunately the lack of communication, language barriers and transparency has been poor from start to finish. The home is beautiful, the process has been painful. Extremely painful. I wish we had a different experience. It is supposed to be THE most exciting time of your life, sadly KB hasn't made us feel that way. We are almost two months in and still working to complete the punch list to make things right.

We do not advise other home buyers to get the idea that you are buying a new home. Home was not and still is not after 2 months 100% completed. Our House delivery was delayed multiple time in the name of quality deliverables. At the end when we got house and started living. The quality of the house is not matching with the quality that I saw in the show unit. The basic option for kitchen cabinets is very cheap and not made from durable wood or timber. It was a manufactured wood and easy to break. The plumbing features are not durable compared to the price that I paid for.
