The sales department pressured the construction team to meet an end of quarter deadline to boost their sales for the quarter. We closed on 8/31/21. THE HOUSE WAS NOT COMPLETED!!! There were major punch items like large holes (12'x9") cut into the wall to access the HVAC unit that was not repaired, cabinets were still being completed while we were waiting for utility companies days after closing. Home was "cleaned" before home was "complete" leaving grit and dust all over the floors and countertops and plenty of dirt on the carpets. The communication from the mortgage representative was non-existent. We dealt mainly with his assistant who repetitively asked for the same information over and over. I had to call the mortgage broker inside our 30 day window from closing about our 30 day rate lock, he never tried to reach us. ... More

To many issues with the house. From plumbing, bathrooms, kitchen ans the list keeps going on.

Completely horrible experience. No one reached out to you when you complain. No matter how respectful and understanding you have been.

At the pooring of the cement I realized they were building the wrong house. When I told the sales person. He took me to the Model the Kingsley to show me it was the right model only FLIPPED!!! WHAT PART OF I WANT MY HOUSE TO LOOK JUST LIKE THIS!!! His reply was "No two houses look the same and does it really Matter? YES IT DOES. 2) The kitchen was smaller. I asked for the gourment Kitchen the sales person didn't know KBHome offered it. If he had he should of told me the kitchen would be smoller. Then he asked me if I wanted a 10 or 12 foot ceiling I said 10 thniking the celing was going to look the same as the model. I said I wanted my house to look exactly like the model. THIS WAS MY DREAM HOME THE HOME I WAS GOING TO SPEND THE BETTER TIME OF MY LIFE IN AND KBHOME TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE WRONG THINGS. THEY BLAMED ME FOR INITALING THE SHOWROOM PRINTOUT WITH THE FLOOR PLAN ON IT. HAD I KNOWN THE FLOOR PLAN WAS DIFFERENT I WOULD HAVE QUESTION IT. I WAS THERE TO PICK OUT UP GRADES NOT TO SEE IF THEY CHANGED THE FLOOR PLAN. KBHOME TOOK NO RESPONSILBILITY. THEY MADE ME BUY THE HOME SAYING I WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY SELLING IT. THAT WASN'T THE POINT. I DIDN'T HAVE MY HOME BUILD TO TURN AROUND A SELL IT. NOW I AM HOMELESS AND LIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER UNTIL I FIND A NEW HOME IN TN. I AM DISABLE ON SSD AND A SMAILL RETIREMENT. My previous review detailing my displeasure with our home was rejected for “legally sensitive content,” without specifying what (if any) it applies to, so unfortunately maybe this is generic enough: KB Homes representatives often paid little attention to detail, communicated poorly, did subpar work, and doesn’t ensure that alcohol isn’t present at construction sites.

As soon as you buy your home nobody replies to any of your questions or concerns.

Too bad too late

The services I received was extremely unacceptable. Mistakes continued to happen not on my end but the sales office and design center. And everyone is extremely slow at handling issues. I have had to write several emails and make several phone calls for issues that are still not resolved. No one takes responsibility for the mistakes made and you bounced around. I would say if have a choice to pick a builder do not pick KB homes. I was also manipulated in giving a first good review that all of my homes issues would be resolved. After my review never heard from anyone again.

We closed 2 months ago. Much of our original punch list is still not repaired. The ceilings in 2 rooms began to sag. They've come in twice, ripped ceilings down leaving us without access to the master bedroom and living room/ kitchen. Ceiling is still not right, lights are removed, crown molding removed and damaged. And they have not shown up the last 2 days when they were scheduled, so I'm left without full access to my master bedroom. "I had an emergency at another location" and "I'm swamped, I couldn't get there today", after being told by the regional construction manager my home was a priority. My main issue was when things went wrong, on more than one occasion, KB failed to escalate and get resolution. Would not recommend.

This is the worst builder I have encountered, sales team were fond of canceling transanctions and no considerations at all and end up putting more downpayment just to save the deal and resolved the issue. They will not work for you to make it happen you have to work on them with their expectations.

Unfortunately, this house is just not what we expected. To name a few problems, there are cracks, leaks, patches of different colored paint, missing grout between floorboards and tiles and wonky tiles throughout the house. It is just over all poor quality. We asked for these things to be fixed before moving in, but they weren't. After many arguments and debates with multiple people, we eventually just had to move in without fixes.

My First Time Home Buyer experience was destroyed by the builder’s team. They didn't do what they promised throughout the process. They didn't respond to in a timely fashion to repair workmanship errors.

I closed on the house in June and there have been so many issues. The week after I closed they wiped out all of my property on the left side of my house. My A/C had to be braced into my siding and propped on 2 x4's to provide additional support. The A/C lines were damaged and leaking, the house siding and foundation had chunks removed by the bulldozer and the window wells were knocked loose. They had to re compact my soil, which they did after my landscaping had already been replaced. I am still waiting on the siding repairs. Due to the inconvenience, I was told by the VP they would pay for the installation of my fence, which had to be delayed. I provided a copy of the fence contract and the total amount and they sent me a check for the deposit....not the fence. Additionally, I receive all of the runoff from my neighbors behind me. Twice, my backyard has been completely flooded. I was told this would be remedied once landscaping was in, but after landscaping, I still receive the runoff. The VP told me in June he would check into it and I never heard from him again. When my irrigation system was installed, it leaked for a month. Initially when I reported it, I was told someone would be out the next morning. After the morning went by, warranty retrieved someone, who told me I was over watering and left! I had to step out of my house and flag the PM down. The valve was full of rocks, so he replaced it. More days go by and I stepped into my soil (where my lawn should be) and I sunk a foot. I reported the irrigation was still leaking on Wednesday and on Tuesday they came to prep for sod and I told them the irrigation was still leaking and the backyard was mud. At that time, I learned all 4 valves were full of rock (even the one replaced). They cleaned out the gravel and left. The next day, I see the irrigation is still leaking. They looked and said it was fine and left. After a few e-mail exchanges and providing pictures of proof, they replaced the valve and flushed the system. During all of this, my basement floor cracked and had moisture coming up through the cracks. Warranty's response was cracks in the basement floor should be expected. Through irrigation and partial landscape installation over a month ago, my fence was damaged in several places. Warranty says they will fix it. My furnace has been repaired twice, which they did respond quickly to. My shower floor slopes away from the drain (this was reported in my 30 day inspection) and not yet fixed. Due to the irrigation issues, I still have not had sod put in. I was told someone would be out to prep late last week, but that hasn't happened yet. Scratched mirrors, glass, and counter tops were all addressed quickly. This is the 3rd new home I have purchased and I have never experienced anything like this from other builders. I recommend doing your research. If I would have been more thorough, I would not have purchased this home. KB Home did a poor job in building my house. It took them almost 6 months to build the house but it looked like a rush job. They installed the kitchen and bathroom cabinets without care. As evident of cracked cabinet doors with deep scratches and dents. The wired shelves were not inspected prior to installation, as some of them already have chipped paint and looks dirty. Paint splatter on tile floor and carpet. They didn’t made an effort to clean up after painting. The doors appeared were not wipe down before painting, dust and dirt were painted over. There were also deep scratches and dents on doors. Chunks of dried cement on garage floor, driveway and patio pavers. They didn’t even wash down the spot where they mix the cement. Do not sign anything until it is complete. Do not let KB home manipulate you.

I had a problem during the framing stage, but KB was on it quickly and resolved it to my satisfaction. Everyone I dealt with at KB was friendly, responsive, and professional. The design center was awesome. I was impressed by the efficiency with which KB built the home. Whomever designed the 1491 floor plan really knew what he was doing.
