The sales department pressured the construction team to meet an end of quarter deadline to boost their sales for the quarter. We closed on 8/31/21. THE HOUSE WAS NOT COMPLETED!!! There were major punch items like large holes (12'x9") cut into the wall to access the HVAC unit that was not repaired, cabinets were still being completed while we were waiting for utility companies days after closing. Home was "cleaned" before home was "complete" leaving grit and dust all over the floors and countertops and plenty of dirt on the carpets. The communication from the mortgage representative was ...

At the pooring of the cement I realized they were building the wrong house. When I told the sales person. He took me to the Model the Kingsley to show me it was the right model only FLIPPED!!! My previous review detailing my displeasure with our home was rejected for “legally sensitive content,” without specifying what (if any) it applies to, so unfortunately maybe this is generic enough: KB Homes representatives often paid little attention to detail, communicated poorly, did subpar work, and doesn’t ensure that alcohol isn’t present at construction sites.

The services I received was extremely unacceptable. Mistakes continued to happen not on my end but the sales office and design center. And everyone is extremely slow at handling issues. I have had to write several emails and make several phone calls for issues that are still not resolved. No one takes responsibility for the mistakes made and you bounced around. I would say if have a choice to pick a builder do not pick KB homes. I was also manipulated in giving a first good review that all of my homes issues would be resolved. After my review never heard from anyone again.

We closed 2 months ago. Much of our original punch list is still not repaired. The ceilings in 2 rooms began to sag. They've come in twice, ripped ceilings down leaving us without access to the master bedroom and living room/ kitchen. Ceiling is still not right, lights are removed, crown molding removed and damaged. This is the worst builder I have encountered, sales team were fond of canceling transanctions and no considerations at all and end up putting more downpayment just to save the deal and resolved the issue. They will not work for you to make it happen you have to work on them with their expectations.

Would Not Use KB Again

Unfortunately, this house is just not what we expected. To name a few problems, there are cracks, leaks, patches of different colored paint, missing grout between floorboards and tiles and wonky tiles throughout the house. It is just over all poor quality. We asked for these things to be fixed before moving in, but they weren't. After many arguments and debates with multiple people, we eventually just had to move in without fixes.

I closed on the house in June and there have been so many issues. The week after I closed they wiped out all of my property on the left side of my house. My A/C had to be braced into my siding and propped on 2 x4's to provide additional support. The A/C lines were damaged and leaking, the house siding and foundation had chunks removed by the bulldozer and the window wells were knocked loose. They had to re compact my soil, which they did after my landscaping had already been replaced. I am still waiting on the siding repairs. KB Home did a poor job in building my house. It took them almost 6 months to build the house but it looked like a rush job. They installed the kitchen and bathroom cabinets without care. As evident of cracked cabinet doors with deep scratches and dents. The wired shelves were not inspected prior to installation, as some of them already have chipped paint and looks dirty. I had a problem during the framing stage, but KB was on it quickly and resolved it to my satisfaction. Everyone I dealt with at KB was friendly, responsive, and professional. The design center was awesome. I was impressed by the efficiency with which KB built the home. Whomever designed the 1491 floor plan really knew what he was doing.
