Unfortunately, this house is just not what we expected. To name a few problems, there are cracks, leaks, patches of different colored paint, missing grout between floorboards and tiles and wonky tiles throughout the house. It is just over all poor quality. We asked for these things to be fixed before moving in, but they weren't. After many arguments and debates with multiple people, we eventually just had to move in without fixes.

My First Time Home Buyer experience was destroyed by the builder’s team. They didn't do what they promised throughout the process. They didn't respond to in a timely fashion to repair workmanship errors.

I closed on the house in June and there have been so many issues. The week after I closed they wiped out all of my property on the left side of my house. My A/C had to be braced into my siding and propped on 2 x4's to provide additional support. The A/C lines were damaged and leaking, the house siding and foundation had chunks removed by the bulldozer and the window wells were knocked loose. They had to re compact my soil, which they did after my landscaping had already been replaced. I am still waiting on the siding repairs. Due to the inconvenience, I was told by the VP they would pay for the installation of my fence, which had to be delayed. I provided a copy of the fence contract and the total amount and they sent me a check for the deposit....not the fence. Additionally, I receive all of the runoff from my neighbors behind me. Twice, my backyard has been completely flooded. I was told this would be remedied once landscaping was in, but after landscaping, I still receive the runoff. The VP told me in June he would check into it and I never heard from him again. When my irrigation system was installed, it leaked for a month. Initially when I reported it, I was told someone would be out the next morning. After the morning went by, warranty retrieved someone, who told me I was over watering and left! I had to step out of my house and flag the PM down. The valve was full of rocks, so he replaced it. More days go by and I stepped into my soil (where my lawn should be) and I sunk a foot. I reported the irrigation was still leaking on Wednesday and on Tuesday they came to prep for sod and I told them the irrigation was still leaking and the backyard was mud. At that time, I learned all 4 valves were full of rock (even the one replaced). They cleaned out the gravel and left. The next day, I see the irrigation is still leaking. They looked and said it was fine and left. After a few e-mail exchanges and providing pictures of proof, they replaced the valve and flushed the system. During all of this, my basement floor cracked and had moisture coming up through the cracks. Warranty's response was cracks in the basement floor should be expected. Through irrigation and partial landscape installation over a month ago, my fence was damaged in several places. Warranty says they will fix it. My furnace has been repaired twice, which they did respond quickly to. My shower floor slopes away from the drain (this was reported in my 30 day inspection) and not yet fixed. Due to the irrigation issues, I still have not had sod put in. I was told someone would be out to prep late last week, but that hasn't happened yet. Scratched mirrors, glass, and counter tops were all addressed quickly. This is the 3rd new home I have purchased and I have never experienced anything like this from other builders. I recommend doing your research. If I would have been more thorough, I would not have purchased this home. KB Home did a poor job in building my house. It took them almost 6 months to build the house but it looked like a rush job. They installed the kitchen and bathroom cabinets without care. As evident of cracked cabinet doors with deep scratches and dents. The wired shelves were not inspected prior to installation, as some of them already have chipped paint and looks dirty. Paint splatter on tile floor and carpet. They didn’t made an effort to clean up after painting. The doors appeared were not wipe down before painting, dust and dirt were painted over. There were also deep scratches and dents on doors. Chunks of dried cement on garage floor, driveway and patio pavers. They didn’t even wash down the spot where they mix the cement. I don’t like nothing how build the house to much mess and damage tael it’s really bead very big line between ceramic in shovers all silicon its ready pool off ground it’s broke water can likes behind ceramic my door from garage to inside at house I cannot close its all the time open In kitchen it’s very chip material I make big miss take to by this house sun I found another place i can put the pool I will sale this house and move from here i have house bin in 16 y magnolia build it’s very good shape and materials. Do not sign anything until it is complete. Do not let KB home manipulate you.

I had a problem during the framing stage, but KB was on it quickly and resolved it to my satisfaction. Everyone I dealt with at KB was friendly, responsive, and professional. The design center was awesome. I was impressed by the efficiency with which KB built the home. Whomever designed the 1491 floor plan really knew what he was doing.

I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Not happy with the home ! Moved in on Oct . 31st .. The yard was not graded correctly, the paint inside and outside the home wasn’t really painted it was dusted with color .. can’t use kitchen drawer .. electrical.. fuse blow for no reason .. the baseboards were painted while dusty.. not smooth at all .. floors have gaps ... masterbed room has a hole in the ceiling.. fire sprinkler?? Sliding door frame is scratched.. My issues are not being addressed ...

My New House was made a mess of by negligent contractors who sprayed my garage side of the house with cement on my dark brown paint. They covered my side garage door with cement which has all been reported at 30 days. Nothing has been done. So now KB is negligent for not getting it fixed. Tarps were not used and it is a mess.

I'm still waiting for a plethora of issues to be resolved.

Call me I will tell you

Bad workmanship, bad quality, warranty very slow and bad all situations poor. Sold kB loan after paid off and mr cooper threatening almost every day. Very bad experience with kB. Wish never bought one. Floor Ames’s since poor workmanship, slow to take care of that. Irrigation system does not work properly, not even giving us a new one. Spent over $6000 on backyard but they don’t care. All about bottom line with kB.

There home was not done the right way when you walk the floor make noise the front door it not straight the wall is not straight the concrete also not straight. I wouldn’t recommend any one to kB home

I still have stuff that needs to be fixed from our ten-day walk-through and before we even moved into our home, We have been in our home for over a month. Our closing date continued to get pushed back because of KB’scontinued negligence . When we moved in they forgot an inspection so we had no insulation in our home till they figured out they messed up. Their communication skills are absolutely right, we had no idea who we were supposed to contact when one of their employees moved onto a different company. Nobody attempted to call or contact or let us know anything that was going on during the whole process. KB has in no way tryed to fix correct or make right any of the issues that we have had with them along the way. Their quality of workmanship customer service and overall communication is horrible.
