From the beginning of our home buying experience we’ve been misled, misinformed, inconvenienced and shown that customers and customer satisfaction is not a priority for KB homes. From random pricing changes and poor quality work to failure to communicate and overall difficulty to do business with, with the exception of the follow up and reliability of Mike, the super intendant, building and purchasing with KB is a grueling and terrible experience. I would not recommend building or purchasing from KB to anyone.

Disappointed after moving in

We have had so many issues after moving in with things that were not done correctly and are very disappointed with the unresponsiveness and unresolved issues. The workers have come to our house on four different occasions due to issues with the countertop and it is still not resolved. We have taken off work numerous times already and are extremely disappointed. We had such a great experience with the sales person as well as all the meetings prior to moving in that we thought it would continue.

We have made several complaints, we were told certain things before buying and now those things are not true. We have had not one thing done with quality in the home, have had issues with door hinges coming off, windows with scratches on them, broken doors, chipped tile, broken and chipped cabinets, flaws in our counter tops, issues with plumbing, poor craftsmanship of walls, power sockets, trim, tile in bathrooms, sprinklers on wrong property, holes in our driveway, dents in cabinets and front door and roof, uneven work done, the stone on the front of house looks sloppy. Poor Workmanship. No follow-up from KB on completion of construction

Before closing, KB was unable to get trades to finish or repair poor workmanship. Closing was delayed due to unfinished and poor workmanship. KB drywall & concrete contractors produce deplorable work. The interior walls were not sanded prior to paint and orange-peel was unsuccessfully used to attempt to mask workmanship defects. We closed before the certificate of occupation was issued and could not move in until a day after signing. The house has many issues from poor construction to a yard that floods. The poor construction was identified and we were told that it would be fixed. We are now over a month into this process and very little has been fixed and nothing major.

Sales staff (Theresa), GC (Glendon, Oz), warranty (Jaime)and design center (Jenna) personnel were great, responsive and awesome to work with so our scores don’t reflect on them in anyway. Current issues or qestions are dealt with quickly. Issues brought up to higher personnel during build were never corrected or solutions were never offer so we were stuck what we got. The renderings did not match our final product because that’s all we could go off of. The materials (stone, paint and elevation)were altered and not addressed with us on how it would “really” look. House wasn’t even completed on closing day and kb homes didn’t even have paperwork ready to close when they picked the date to close. Craftsman ship is disappointing. Got my microwave stolen while in building phase. Landscaping is dying and uneven and mostly dirt and grass. Sodding isn’t even up to code. Cracks In driveways and inside garage and only lived in for 2 months. They said the settling is “normal” but the cracks will only get worse down the road.

Over all its just another track home with low quality material & poor workmanship. There are plenty of hairline cracks acros the drywall joints where the tape didn’t have enough mud behind it . The Construction Superintendent tryed to charge me cash for a stone design that was already included in the blue prints. Matt The warranty fellow is terrible at responding the phone, text & emails so far not a great experience. My experience was not great at all. Everything was rushed to close hearing from other workers around working on the home. I was told that KB rushes homes to get #’s skipping big quality checks. employees get treated like numbers no value to the home buyers just searching for good surveys to getting popularity numbers and land to keep building. I’ll be selling my home due to so many things to fix and chasing warranty and kb superiors to resolve once I finished my survey I was let go and no one reached out. I will suggest buy else we’re kb Home isn’t the same 3 years back they were number 1! ...

My home took 14 months to "complete". I'm STILL missing a doorknob, but of the knobs I do have, 3 have randomly fallen off. The ENTIRE upstairs creaks incesantly. There is a crack in my ceiling, 2 doors don't close completely, water pools in the backyard, porch is missing bricks, roof has issues, siding, large space between the cabinet and wall, no caulking in areas, flooring is cut poorly (it doesn't even meet the wall in some areas). So we bought a house 7 Oct. we did not like the experience with KB. When they offered a high APR & wanted us to buy down the rate. We went to our lender that offered way lower APR but then KB wanted to match it but wanted my lender to do a promise letter. Neither lenders wanted to do this so this took up time. We had refused to go with KB if they were going to match it because of they could match it now then they could have matched it in the beginning. As the home was being built there was no electricity to the home. All the workers were working during the winter months in the dark! I visited property all the time. Couldn't see any details. Like grayish toilets, crooked layout of flooring. So many cabinet issues. Paint is completely washing off the walls. It is the lowest quality. They're just trying to get you into a house

So if you're a 1st time homebuyer with no options, then this may be the right builder for you. Here's my process from beginning to end. Go into the sales office and take a look at the houses and decide if you want to buy or not. After that you get put on a waiting list where their mortgage officer takes at least a whole month to reach out to you after being told week after week from your sales rep that someone should be reaching out to you. Finally, the mortgage officer sees if you're qualified by giving you a ridiculous loan that sticks with you till closing day (so go with another lender). ...

This was my first experience buying a home and it was ruined. I never got the wow excitement experience because everywhere I looked there was something wrong. Careless things like holes in brand new wall and paint on things that should not have paint on them. The worse issue of all was the worker ate in the unfinished home and left behind a mess a 1 year old child would leave. Additionally, they tried to force me to close on an unfinished home. Our dream home disaster

We closed in late September. That same weekend our entire kitchen and most of our LVP had to be ripped out because of water damage caused by a faulty dishwasher setup. We were in the house for nearly a month, then found out we had mold. We have since been removed from the home awaiting remediation. This has been an absolute nightmare, but we are working through the remaining issues. Additionally, the overall build quality was average at best with some areas still needing repairs or rework. All of this after almost two months after closing. I wouldn't do it again.

To slow building houses, that’s why people turn around and change their mind to buy a property. The finish touch of the properties are not professionally, such as back slight door not safe and get misplace every time is opening, worst outside water plumbing connection to the house, faucets, no compact flat terrain with the grass, ship materials to build up a house. Etc.

Not Happy with the amount of issues

We have had 21 warranty issues from structural to Flooding, to stress fractures in drywall, too many to list. The list has been submitted many times and only 7 items have been completed. Can't get any service from Whirlpool for the dishwasher and its still sitting on our carpet and floor haven't been installed. We are very disappointed in the Customer Service area of KB.
