Sales did not mention the home was being built in a flood zone. Although it would be changed months later it was an issue at closing. KB does minimum standards ex: your block wall will look unfinished as a row will not be finished. Talk about looking goofy. They don’t put down weed control so your yard will have weeds pop up shortly after you move in. Contract work goes without inspection being down. There is trash laying around perimeter where contractors finished a project but cleanup has not been completed. Warped studs used in construction of house. Contractors hitting the wall so hard in attempt to straighten it knocked nails out of the wall on other side and damaged the wall. Regional supervisor is very good with response but unfavorable contractors have kept me at the house far too long as they do t know what they’re doing so rescheduling seems to never end. I’ve had part of the roof removed and put back on to do repairs to facia boards. Had a contractor tell me he made superintendent on the job aware of faulty work and that warning was ignored. Guess what: I found it and it was taken care of. It should never have been there for me to find in the first place. Only makes you wonder what else is there for me to find. Oh-almost forgot- my house has been repainted 3 times. A fourth appears to be needed. I would love to have contact with a KB executive and show them this house and lack of quality which now appears to be standard. We are very happy with our new KB home! The entire home buying process has been wonderful and we have worked with such great people! Phillip was wonderful to work with and communicated with us on everything we needed to know, even going above and beyond in making us feel welcomed into the community! Then KC helped us feel comfortable in our home with a wonderful orientation and made sure everything was ready for our move in. Since then we have been working with Zachary on any warenty issue (small little things here and there) and he has been extremely attentive and quick to get the issues resolved immediately. We cannot stress how thankful we are for these great people and for our beautiful new home. ... More

It has been 2 months in our new construction KB home and we are very pleased.

Overall I have been pleased but there were a few things I can also take part responsibility for by not asking more questions. First item I was surprised by was the standard 2X4 stud walls. I assumed and did not realize this wasn't a state/county/city requirement to have 2X6 walls where concern for high energy use during our hot AZ summers would be paramount. I understand the concept of the airtight home to keep energy costs down but the added R factor of the 2X6 wall seems like a must have. Second, a water softener loop should be standard in an Arizona home. The highly chlorinated and harsh city water systems in AZ require softeners. As a result I incurred notable extra expense to add later and have unsightly drain tubes on my garage walls along with a spigot in the back yard that now gets softened water that could have been avoided with a loop. The cost of materials and labor to put in a copper loop and run a plastic tube in the walls can't be enough to require making this an upgraded option. Lastly I wish it would have been made clear to me that my house wall would be the neighbors fence. I incurred notable extra expense running drip system around front of the house since I would not be able to perform maintenance on them since they'd be running through the neighbors yard and at some point in the future when painting, roofing and or general repair is required on east side of home I will have to invade the neighbors yard and get their permission to do so. There is ample space to put a wall in place and for the neighbor to still have a yard bigger than the one I have and then give me access to maintain the east side of the property without disturbing them. I don't recall any diagrams or disclosures conveying this to me and only reason to not do was to save cost of putting in the wall. ... More

make sure you have a sales representative that is eager to know your wants and needs. Ours kept us informed every step of the way. You can usually tell if its a good fit. He made our experience easier than our previous home buying experience, no pressure.

One of the smoothest and satisfactory experiences in home buying I have experienced. Working with an in-house agent really makes a difference during the processes especially with new homes. The homes speak for themselves but the builder is what makes the process so great. Throughout each step you feel as of you get the support and response you want. Most importantly I fealt the support post close was superb. All my questions and needs were met in a timely manner.

From the sticker in our attic window, our warped stairs, cracked cabinets and leaking backdoor. We feel overwhelmed with the large and small issues. I'm disappointed with the quality in the carpet and bath/shower combo. Our grass in the back yard is muddy an uneven. The quality of our home did not meet the value of what I paid for the home. Carpet with no padding is coming up on the stairs, our cabinets still have a spit, what we were showed in demo to our $3000+ tub shower combo was extremely misrepresented. The communication between our builder to us and the rest of Kb was terrible. Deb was amazing giving us the start of our home, however the design studio and what the builders presented was night and day. ... More

There are always horror stories you hear about new home builders and owners who are unhappy with their new home. Our story is NOT one of those stories. Ours was a great story, a pleasant story, a great home, and continues to be to this day. From the design studio, to KB Home Loans, to now living and loving our home - KB Home has be a surprise in the many things they have done for us and our home. The little things in the home that take a lot of the worry out home ownership. Lots of included items that you might take for granted are there so we dont have to worry about them. Sure, it's not 100% perfect - there are a few very minor things I might have liked to seen done differently. But I tell you it is pretty darn close to perfect. Everyone at KB has made the home-buying process easy and pain-free. We love our home!

We did our first walk through and we found some things ( scratch tub, wire sticking out of stucco, roof tile missing nails, dead plants and some texture and painting issues). Also the superintendent showed up 30 min late. He said that he would add trim in the garage for being late. A week later was our closing date and it rain 2 days during that week. We had another walk through and the only thin was fixed was the paint and texture issues. He said the they can fix the issues while we are living their. I did not want to slow anything down so I said okay. It took them 2 weeks after I said something again to fix the issues the only thing they did was fixed the tub. Now almost 2 months later the super called me and ask how everything is doing. I told he that our plants still need to be replaced, fix the roof, stucco, 2 doors need fixed ( 1 does not latch and the other does not closed), we saw a hole in the bottom of the cabinet in the bathroom, and I put a new faucet in the kitchen and it looks like it had some water damage on the bottom shelf of the cabinet. He told me he would schedule me for the nexted friday and nobody called me and nobody showed. ... More
