KB homes is straight-forward to deal with. You know the prices and options you will get. They move fast in construction! But, that may be at the cost of quality. They do not use the highest quality materials and some of the labor is sloppy. It is nice to have a home and they price it so that you can buy it, but they are not necessarily a good value. Quality just isn't there. And then when you want something fixed.... everything should be smooth and quick but you get a million run-arounds which is unfortunate. Probably would be better to just do things correctly the first time.

The build quality is not at all good, the materials used are sub par. The workmanship is not at all good. Seems like some armature who has no experience has built the home. There are scratches on the marbles in washrooms and kitchen sink. Kitchen cabinets have so many damages like literally looks as if it is 10 years old. Dry wall putty is not put properly and chips off and cracks everywhere angles were not put properly for doors and windows. Door frames have damages everywhere even before they were handed over. The time to build was too long for the size of the house. The quality of work is horrible. The neighborhood has a lot of self centered residents Wish I would have known. I would have looked elsewhere

I recently had the unfortunate experience of building a home with KB Home in the Winn Ridge community in Aubrey, Texas, and I would not recommend this builder to anyone. From the start, our project was plagued with delays and issues, from the pause in construction for three months to allow for resources to be devoted to other projects, to struggling to pass pre-dry wall inspections, and ordering materials short of what was needed. The project team seemed unable to deliver on reasonable estimate timelines, causing great inconvenience to my family, and we ultimately missed a 120 day lock rate agreement with KB Home Loans. The lack of professionalism and empathy from the project team was also a major issue, and it felt like they needed help to get the job done. We were left feeling disappointed and stressed, and it has been over two months since we moved in and our sentiment has not changed. The build was late. 2 months after living in the house and we have NEVER had a working microwave. Issues have been outstanding since moving in, week after week we’re told ‘it will be done this week’ and nothing ever ends up happening. It makes it worse that these are minor issues that could all be done within an hour or 2. It’s annoying as it is a prime example that KB hire works with poor workmanship that obviously don’t take pride in their work, these items were obviously also overlooked by the management who should have picked it up.

While the home KB delivered is certainly a fine home, I'd wager there are ways to get a fine home with less headache. After being in the home a while, it's clear where some costs were cut. Certain things were unfinished or wrong: a chandelier with no lightbulbs, the door to the garage was installed backward, a nail sticking out of the stairs, a shrub promised in the front that has never been installed, several dozen large nails left on the deck/backyard. Many of these left undone after I was told they would all be fixed. A free additional bucket of paint was promised that I've never received. Additionally, it has been very difficult to get ahold of people and to hear back. There was a long list of issues that were documented prior to closing that I am still struggling to remediate. Some of the issues were dealt. However, big ticket items like kitchen cabinet is still pending with no visibility to resolution. The Sales staff, Construction Staff, and Customer Service staff are NOT the problem. The Staff are all super nice. But the process doesn't lead to resolutions. Had I known that the warranty claims process would be this time-consuming, I would have never closed on the house. Buying a KB home feels like I am dealing with an insurance firm, where getting claims dealt takes forever with zero visibility to issue resolution. ... More

Do not let them bully you into signing if you're not satisfied.

WoW, the home build quality is as low as it can get. Exemplifies that the company is having severe trouble engaging skilled workers compared to its competitors. Every. corner of the house displays extremely poor workmanship (walls, ceilings, paint, baseboards, doors etc.). I am hoping that the framing, electrical work, plumbing is ok). Will only find out after some time elapses. The biggest culprit though is poor responsiveness to get the issues addressed by the construction operations. They are busy building homes and then closing them as soon as possible to get money without any sincere intention to ensure homes are delivered with quality nor on providing good customer service. No wonder, survey conducted for home owners (who closed on their Gomes since 2021) shows that Kbhome is ranked at the rock bottom of the 20 builders based on the quality of its delivered home and customer satisfaction. I hope that company looks past it old glory and start focusing on quality over quantity. ... More

Honesty, integrity absent. Felt unrepresented, our fault should have not trusted our sales agent. Things discussed not honored due to not using KBs rude, incompetent Lender. Some $$ towards house taken away from us. Was told by sales “oh no, you can use your own lender and still get $2500 regardless, but not the $5000”. We understood, KB also took that $2500 away, feel a punishment for not using there lender. “ Oh it’s in contract you could lose it”! So was say will receive regardless of who we use? Took 14 months to build a small under 1900 sq ft. home. Felt like KB wanted us to back out. In turn our Interest rate hurt us. Did walk thru. Nothing we pointed out was done, now seems it will not. Cracked patio we paid for. Told by sales our appliance would be scratch resistant, had a mar in middle was told be taken care of at walk thru it wasn’t. It’s does not clean without horrid streaks and we had to pay extra to purchase. Will not do anything for us. Kitchen sink leaking upon move in, no one yet has came to fix. Have a towel and pot underneath. Ceiling seams visible, only to find ceiling was separating thru great area and hallway. Did someone to fix, then stopped him. He BTW was great. Had to extensively screw drywall to 2x4s as ceiling was sagging. Huge crack in our hallway he was suppose to finished it was stopped. We believe he was reprimanded for doing it right, hallway not finished, now no one sent to paint over seams, just a complete stop. Cracked tiles, one loose. Driveway and garage door never power-washed, as well driveway looks mismatched in color, dirt brown, and garage door filthy. Left hole in yard, did not fill in just put sod over it. Gravel, not dirt under areas of sod. Door seal, large gap front door 2. back door seals looks old and used, looks bad. Btw was told that would be taken care of it. Mismatched baseboards kitchen, living room, which we paid extra for. No foam insulation around stove vent or sink. In our minds criminal to pay so much for shoddy work, untruths, dishonesty in many areas. ... More

We sign the contract September after 1 year almost ready to be closed, we was ask to closed even though we know the house is not complete because the sale person and construction was very nice to us and they need to submit the quota to corporateans also promise to finish the house in 30 day so we did a Favor by trusting but boy we are so wrong I moving in 2 month my house still not complete yet we have submit multiple warranty and have a construction supervisor know they alway come up with excuses and promise but never do anything. So disapointed and upset at the same time.

Not so great experience. Not honored the words spoken.

Our KB home experience was terrible. From the sales team, to the finishing touches on our new home, our overall experience was one of the worst. Our sales rep showed little to no support or effort during our building process. Her knowledge of timelines and the overall process was lacking. Our Head contractor and Lender were awesome. However, since we have moved in, the individual in charge of repairs has done little to nothing, and we have had to hound him just to get fixes completed. (To little prevail) We have sent in many requests to have our complaints addressed, but KB home has not rendered any solution. We absolutely do not recommend buying from KB home. ... More

Overall quality of workmanship is poor. Especially the paint job. The floor is covered with paint drops. Nothing was fixed after 2 walk through. Get the run around and excuses. Windows are getting discolored. List is too long. The list was emailed to KB representatives.

Steve and Jeff tried their best, but KB does not care about quality, just pumping out houses for profit!

Sale rep and construction not on the same page, various items not completed prior to final walk through. Slow to f/u with ticket claims with home warranty service advisor for community. Overall not a great experience.

This experience was our first time building from the ground up but not our first time buying a home, thus we were very excited in the beginning. However, lack of communication, delays, stuff not working upon move in, things still not working months later, and noticing finishes in were haphazardly put together does not push us to want to purchase another KB home.

Alan and Don were great communicating with us from the beginning to the end, we run into a lot of issues from grading of the lot to constructions issues, in fact, we closed about 2 months now, I have not moved 10 days ago, we are still seeing issues with nails poping out, a few items pending from the last walk through before closing. our backyard keep getting flooded everytime it rains, and they are planning to regrade it again.. while I have two car garage, the drive way is so narrowed that I can only park one car ..

I have owned the home now for over a month and still have not moved in due to horrible workmanship. I will be making my second mortgage payment on a house that has carpet peeling up. Paint that is two different sheens on the same wall, damaged tile, broken baseboards. The superintendent disregards all customer concerns and just shrugs his shoulders and says”It’s just the subs…” I would never buy another KB home and can’t begin to explain the frustration and disappointment.

Moved in 2 months ago and still do not have a handle on the bathroom drawer. Three ceiling fans are not the ones ordered, and the list goes on and no one calls or comes by to see if your issues are handled. Once you sign you are really on your own.

Get things fixed before you sign and accept your house.

Hime looks nice but I wouldn't recommend a family or friend to KB HOME. Materials are cheap.. only been a month had to call for maintenance at at least 10 tomes. Walls feel cheap, boiler/Hot water went out 3 times. New floors I payed for out of POCKET have stains, Carpet is not installed correctly. When we did walked threw didn't really pay attention or can notice any of this until moving in. They installed cabinets doors month later. For a new home has roaches, spiders i don't know how and lots of ANTS I mean a lot... First day move in. Just over all horrible. Plus paying so much for this? Yeah no.. not happy.. ... More

I was promised several incentives that were not put in contract, then told it's not in contract so too bad. Also construction was supposed to finish projects that were promised, as well as coached me what to say at closing. I did what he said but he didn't hold up to his end of the agreement. Floors are unfinished and walls unfixed. Caulking was unfinished and paint also.

Completely DISAPPOINTED with the quality of the work done on my home, and the quality of the appliances provided, quality of the materials(carpet, drywall boards, dry wall cement/paints, ceiling materials) was used for the construction. I also see lot of cracks in many areas of the house. I personally feel that it is not even worth the 3/4th of what I paid for it.

Everything is varying degrees of slapdash. Once they tell you the home is done it's a monumental battle to get them to come fix the things they said they'd fix before closing.
