Bad experience all over. Bad loan experience had to switch to another loan company. My home was abandoned during construction while others were being built at a faster rate.

At first things were good until our lot was sold from up under us twice. No notification or idea it had happened until when it was time to get a date for the studio. Then once that was sorted, studio selections were double selected by a neighboring house which caused some reselections without compensation. Once that was figured out, when it came time to close on the house multiple credit checks within a month mixed up identity from loan officer and closing agent and once we got to the final hour KB denied me a loan. It was all too peculiar, like KB didn't want to sell the house to us. But I found a lender outside of KB who was willing to loan us the money and we closed within 2.5 weeks. Something KB couldn't not get done. Now that I'm in the house a few things need to be corrected it's taking time but things are coming together. Very tumultuous and frustrating dealing with KB staff. The house has been occupied since January 2023, and still no usage of Solar System. Shame om KB Homes and SunPower with their poor quality of service. Nobody cares after we have bought the house!!

Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. Causing us to push the sale of our home back. When we came for our final review before closing we had broken window, the house was filthy, broken cabinet drawers, no final paint done, on missing shower heads, missing mirrors, missing door knobs, holes in living room ceiling a huge hole in the bathroom wall, no shelving in the linen closet, back porch ceiling damage, back porch floor damage. H16 screwdriver hole across kitchen ceiling. At this point we were told our ovens were no longer in stock and were replaced with different ovens that we did not even approve of, and the wrong dishwasher. All the electrical was not wired correctly. This was 2 days before closing! The day of closing we had another walk through nothing had be touch. We had our movers bringing our furniture in while painters and electricians were trying to fix what they could. Sales lady misrepresented what was included in base price , seldom followed up , and pushed document to sign which had not been filled out . Lax attitude from construction supervisor throughout building process Ie ( roof ) asked multiple times to inspect it and is now in need of repair . Customer service not following through on things needing replaced or repaired , requested at 10 day review ( we are 6 weeks post closing ) still undone . And lastly I sent email back in November after receiving a welcome card from ( name I don’t recall ) listing concerns I had , that has yet to be replied to .. enough said ! They don’t care ! ... I will never build with KB homes again The supervisor was fantastic. but that’s the only highlight of the whole experience….

As we got closer to the closing date issues we pointed out were ignored, dismissed, or not addressed at all. The finance side of things were great, but overall the experience was not what it should have been when buying a new home.

Forced us to close even though house construction wasn't finished and 2 months later still didn't fix windows, kitchen cabinets and leaking HVAC. KBHome recommendation for us to use bucket whenever we AC and pray to God leaking doesn't cause electrical damage to HVAC.

I’m dissatisfied with the quality of cheap materials that KB Homes put into the building of the homes. Although they build the homes in great locations. Still the quality needs better performance, design and selection.

The entire process of the homebuying experience has been poor and lackluster there was no wow factor I was not excited about purchasing the home and after purchasing the home. The new homebuying experience has been stressful and unpleasant the entire processWith the builder and other issues that took place during the build and the after home purchase I’ve been awful. The buying experience did not feel like a new home purchase felt like a used house purchase they were so many problems with the home that had to be addressed and still need to be addressed. Many issues like damaged tile missing grout holes in the wall damage bathtub damage master shower Damage cabinets Dead grass damage garage door cracks and walls missing paint damage stucco. And other minor issues have made the whole buying experience unpleasant. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a home after the experience that we have had. Many things did not go as planned with building our home. When a change needed to happen or something was prolonged it took for me the buyer to ask questions and find answer and no one ever knew what was what.

Extremely unhappy with the way the sale was handled.

The KB Construction team very awful, very nightmarish. They are not very communicative, not cooperative to give the KB-promised quality. I am still very disappointed because of construction. The home could have been better • The bay window was lopsided by 1 inch on the right, .5 on the left. They built and set the window crooked. • The bay window itself was replaced 4 times because KB kept placing broken windows. • 4 windows and 1 mirror had scratches • The moisture barrier was missing for almost 8 months • Construction failed inspection twice, there were 3 broken truss and 3 unsecured joints. KB Construction was not fixing it until I almost cancelled my deal. • The closing date was pushed 3 times, total construction time was 10 months (much longer than expected) • I wasn’t provided a closing date, my bank told me • The garage roof has a hole that lets car gasses in. • The fence is not spaced evenly and the wood is molded • The front door was not adjusted properly • The windows were not draining water appropriately, there was water stored in the walls • The ground elevation was not accurate, water pools in random places • Most cabinets were broken and not replaced. • There were no weekly meetings or updates, I had to go EVERYDAY to see progress • Our kitchen upgrade sink is scratched and pools water • SherwinWilliams said KB gave a lower quality wrong color paint for the exterior there’s a few more things for structure integrity, still was not to what KB promised. Troy from the Warranty Team is very attentive and good, he’s been trying to improve everything Construction has ignored. I am very thankful for Troy and the Warranty Team. Horrible sales staff, not customer service friendly, wood that was used to build our home had mold on it, contractors used to build our home were very unqualified and our concerns were not taken seriously. I will never buy another KB home again, ever!

Worst house buying experience I’ve ever had

Started out good. Appraisal was not what we expected. After living in the house for 1 month. And discovering the construction and item was poorly installed. Promises made for first 30 days to get a good review. Additionally, KB HoA contract stipulations is not in the best interest for homeowners when it comes to lot boundary lines to allow each homeowner to install their own fence. Looking at the overall quality, Very very poor. . You all are not recommended. All the best.

Not very happy with KB Home, and their loan officers and management. Loan officers never properly communicated with us. In the end we had to find a different lender. After the closing when we entered the house, there were things needed to be fixed. Here we are trying to get settled in the new home we were still calling the contractor to get the stuff fixed inside the home.

From the beginning I experienced irresponsibility, racism and disrespect to the costumer. My home has a broken tile,the banister is almost broken too, a skin with horrible quality and stained, the kitchen sink look like rusted. we were also asked to lie in order to give a good review to the company, the Superintendent offered us gifts if I gave her a good review. After that we started having more issues she ignored my messages, her name was Isabeau. So no, I won’t recommend this company AT ALL.

After we picked the house we wanted, nothing was good or great after that. Mortgage company was horrible. We did a walk through previously with blue tape and signed off. When we moved in, nothing was fixed we had marked. Trying to get them to fix anything was like pulling teeth and we had to do some of it ourselves. When someone spends over $400,000 on a brand new house, the buyer shouldn't have to do quality control in the contractors job. Do not recommend.

The issues i am having with the home that i recently purchase at the Shadow Mountain community are the features in the module home and the finish product are way different. The island and food storage pantry are too small in the finished homes and is not similar in size that are shown in the module homes. The solar panels which are main features and selling point of the KB Homes are yet to activated and being used by the owners. Both Sun Power and the Electric company are giving run arounds on who to submit request for activation, I would have gone with Pulte Homes and used Sun Run for my solar panels supplier if I have known that was going to be an issue. ... I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a home from KB Homes, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare. From the moment we signed the contract, it became apparent that quality work and effective communication were not priorities for this company. First and foremost, the construction quality of the house was abysmal. It seemed as though corners were cut at every turn, resulting in a litany of issues. The paint job was uneven and sloppy, with visible streaks and blotches on the walls. The flooring was installed poorly, with several tiles already cracked at closing. Drywall imperfection ran rampant throughout the home, The irrigation was a disaster and non operational for TWO months. I also did not have DOOR KNOBS for close to a month after closing. The list goes on and on. It is disheartening to see such subpar craftsmanship, especially considering the substantial amount of money we invested in this home. Adding to the frustration, the lack of communication from KB Homes has been utterly disappointing. When we initially raised concerns about the quality of work, it took weeks for trades to complete work after notifying our super intendent. Even then, the responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling ignored and abandoned. It became apparent that once they had our money, they were no longer interested in providing any form of customer support. The lack of transparency and accountability from KB Homes is deeply concerning. It is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction, neglecting their responsibility to deliver quality homes and support their buyers. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a home purchase to think twice before choosing KB Homes. In conclusion, my experience with KB Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poor quality workmanship and the company's complete lack of communication and accountability have made this a regrettable decision. Save yourself the frustration and headache and look elsewhere for a reputable home builder that values its customers and takes pride in its work. KB Homes is simply not worth the time, money, or stress. This is everything I wanted to say… However, amidst this sea of disappointment, there was one shining star in the form of Tyler. Tyler was the only person from KB Homes who seemed genuinely concerned about our issues and took proactive steps to address them. He responded to our calls and kept me notified via a detailed texting format, and he made it a point to visit our home personally to assess the problems we were facing. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond was truly commendable and is something every single KB employee should aspire to provide their customers. ... More
