I have horrible experience with KB, very slow haven't met any of the timelines they have provided, you will not get answer to your questions, bad quality in most parts and this happens primarily due to time constraints to close. Never ever getting a home through KB Homes

I got home with ceiling fan, the backdoor sliding door was dented. The response from KBhome was super slow. I had to escalate it to corporate office to find the supervisor information and even after that I had to make multiple calls to get a response. Finally they responded but getting the work done is super slow. Also KB home in their base mode (price they put on the website) is a bare bones house. E.g they don't even give handle to door, garage door opener, LED lights as default. These are we need to take as upgrade.

The home was delivered a full six months after it was promised—and the problem was not the pandemic! The problem was the company’s policy of hiring unskilled workers— and perhaps not paying well enough? Management changed on a regular basis—sometimes monthly—and thus there was no accountability. Shockingly bad workmanship throughout the home left us seriously disappointed. The sales team promised high value—and we estimate the house is actually In value about HALF what we paid for it. As a first time homebuyer I was initally very excited, but as time progressed, I became utterly disappointed with the whole process. The numerous delays, lack of communication and now that we are in the home, there are still a multitude of things wrong with the home, that we have been waiting almost 2 months for to be repaired. I will not buy another KB Home.

Terrible experience. First home buyer been my dream to own a home and my dream was shattered. Multiple unresolved issues months since closing still till today. Very poor responsiveness from builders who is clearly overworked with too many houses. Will do my best to avoid kb homes in the future

Unfortunately the entire experience was not what we were expecting. From the time we signed the contract to closing it felt at most times pulling teeth from construction to know about the status of our home. They would not commit to any estimate closing dates even though our sales coordinator and finance told us they can see on reports of one. When we got closer to closing, our superintendent of construction did not inform us until the day before closing that he was not going to have about 7 things ready in the home until after closing. (Shower enclosure, cabinet handles, window screens, closet shelfs, etc..) This was the same day that our kitchen counters were just being installed and he didnt have us walk through the kitchen for us to see that the switch for the sink garbage disposal was too high that the switch was hitting the sink that would not allow the switch to turn on the disposal. On the day of the closing, we were hoping to go our home as ready as it can be to only find out that the wntire home was not cleaned and found more issues with the home. We learned that the water heater was leaking, the entry garage door that connected the home to the garage was not installed correctly that doesnt properly closes the door (we later learned that the door frame was installed badly), and the electric wire in the master bedroom was crossed that would not allow a light fixture to go off when flipping the switches. When all of this was reported to the superintendent of construction, it felt like it went no where. We were exhausted after this entire process and sad to say we now have to do the work ourselves to ensure things are done right! Bad construction and repair time.

Quality of workmanship is not the greatest, we where expecting to buy a brand new house so that everything was perfect and new, which is far from what happen, we did a lot of upgrades and everything that was installed looks like it was installed by amateurs that didn’t really know what they where doing, also we recently installed a doggy door in the wall of our house and as we where cutting the stucco out it just crumbled into sand making the hole way bigger and more sloppy than it should have been not sure why the stucco just crumbled like sand we have cut multiple holes for doggy doors in other houses and have never had that outcome. ... Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience turned out to be far from it. Due to a changing home sales market in June/July we struggled to get our (previous) home under contract. KB didn't care. Not only did they not want to work with us to still close on our new home, they literally gave us an ultimatum. On July 19th, we received an email which read; "Get your home under contract by Saturday, July 23 or we will consider you in breach of contract and sell them home to another buyer. If we are able to sell the home before August 30, we will return your earnest money. If not, you will forfeit the money." It's important to note that our close date wasn't until August 10. After doing some research we learned that this happened because they wanted to get the home off their books prior to their next quarterly earnings report which was, by no coincidence, one day after their ultimatum deadline. Obviously, this is not what a customer wants to be told, and things got worse before they got better. As for the quality of workmanship, we've had 3 separate leaks in our furnace system over the last 2 months. Each time we had water puddled on the basement floor. We've been told that the leaks are fixed and "shouldn't have any more." We've been here 3 months and our "30-day punch list" has about half the things done. We were told that some won't be done until the 10-month punch list. While not all of these problems are directly KB's fault, it's the fault of their subcontracted trades workers. We've seen with our own eyes that some of them do not care about the end product. They just want to get the job "done" and get paid. In fairness, I will again say that some of these problems are not directly caused by KB. However, they've been in business long enough to know that you get out what you put in. Since they continue to hire people with poor to no work ethic, in the end, it is in fact their fault. ... More

KB homes took 8 months longer to build that we were promised. The house was not ready at closing. We have been in our home two months and they still have not fixed anything. The workmanship is the worst I have ever experienced.

Outlets installed crooked. Garage cement 5 feet long cracks. Doors don’t lock properly. Window shutters weren’t installed until 3 weeks after we moved in. A motion sensor flood light that I paid for was replaced with a wall switch to turn on, not what I paid for. Just less than adequate overall workmanship.

Craftsmanship was horrible. Moved in my house almost two months ago and touch up is still needed. Cabinets are not done. Horrible experience.

the hired workers don't really care because they can't keep up.

It's been almost two month I have no dryer the replacement they brought doesn't work. The hot water was working fine when we moved inn and it completely stopped working i was told they missed a part and they will fix it. It is still not fixed. I am now told to move out and get a hotel. All this with two kids. I am not even adding a whole wrong instalation of all the bars that is still not fixed and a shower glass not in place.....to say the least I didn't expect this from KB homes.

Given misinformation from the beginning. I chose my lot based on being told the last 15’ of my yard was a setback, not an easement. That was not true. Everything only got worse from there. I was supposed to close in November 2021, I didn’t close until June 2022. My lot set empty and untouched until nearly November, then it was thrown up in 4months. Because they didn’t have the house ready when it was originally set to close, my interest rate went up 3.25%. I was nearly priced out of my home. So they rushed to close me, because if they didn’t, I would have lost the house I had been showing my kids would be their new home for the last 15months. The quality of workmanship was poor. Screws are already popping out of the drywall, door frames aren’t painted, crooked studs on my frame that makes my walls look like they are bowed and wavy, driveway has clumps on concrete, porch stairs are crooked and has holes in them. When I closed on my home, the punch list had about 30items on it that should have been done prior to closing, but I was reassured that they would all be addressed within the first couple of weeks living there. I’ve lived there 6weeks. 3.5 things from that list have been resolved. Everything else is still sitting there. I get reassured every week that the items will be corrected that week, but weeks come and go, I rearrange work schedules to be there, but no one shows or nothing gets done. In addition to the $500/m I have to pay for increased interest rates, every time I have to change my schedule to accommodate these “repairs”, it cost me time and money. I keep hearing “I understand your frustration”, but THEIR understanding doesn’t make up for a fraction of the amount of money it has and will cost me over the life of my loan because they are incompetent at their jobs and do not hold themselves or tradesmen accountable. I only wish I could do my job as poorly as KB has and still collect my paycheck. This entire experience has sucked any joy out of the home buying process. If I could go back in time and make a different decision, I would not have bought this home. Because when I chose to buy a KB Home 15 months ago, I had other options. Now, I don’t. But I will never buy a KB Home again and I am telling everyone I know to not buy one either. I really hope that wherever the breakdown in skill/communication/accountability/integrity is resolved because no one deserves the experience that I had with KB. We closed on our house over 60 days ago and you still have not completed building it. Issues pointed out to the team months before we closed are still not resolved. Management lies and makes promises they have no intention of following through with.

We were provided unsatisfactory experience throughout the entire process, from initial purchase to final move-in. The quality of the workmanship and customer service were horrible! There is value of our new home because of the lot size and location I’m hesitant to trust the home itself has the value of what we paid due to lack of workmanship/customer service. Our experience with the builder’s team was that they severely lack communication and follow through as well as disregard homebuyers concerns. They never did what they promised and keep making excuses for it. They have never respond to us in a timely fashion. What I would like buyers to know most is that if they have to buy a home here they should use their own Lender and Realtor and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT attend the home orientation without their realtor or sign off on the “orientation” without ALL items in the home cleaned, scratches buffed out, drywall being in pristine condition as well as window and electrical being to your standards! ... I live in lot 54 please come and talk to me about the poor quality of construction of your house.

I have been lied to - had products installed that didn't match - 11 months from the date i signed my contract and still have items on back order - the only quality control check points were the City Inspectors and the home buyer The good news is that the warranty service has been great so far. Be willing to spend countless days at home to meet the warranty service contractors

Very hard to get in touch to have issues fixed with the house. Was told it was a two car garage but only fits one. Have not hear back for a couple months about fixing that issue and other issues with my house

Since I bought the house I still don’t have my garage key I called many times but nobody cares. I noticed some missing stuff nobody cares . I have a very bad experience with kb . The seller was the best one MR Severo

We have had a horrible experience and would not recommend using KB. Even after moving in, we still have so many issues that are taking forever to be addressed. We were told that any defects would be fixed within three days of our New Home Orientation, but here we sit about two months later and are still waiting for so many issues to still be fixed. Most of the issues are around sloppy work and cutting corners. Whoever worked on our house clearly doesn't have any pride in workmanship, and just rushed through their jobs hoping no one would complain. It is extremely disappointing to buy a new home in this condition, and is even more disappointing that they are taking so long to make things right. ... More

Horrible customer service from the construction Department warranty department sales man have no information On the rules and regulation of when you buy this home for the Hoa knows nothing about the construction just all-around horrible.
