The sales people used high pressure tactics and misled us during the purchasing process. They did not communicate with the lender or the design center. We had to check that everything we paid for was installed. We paid for higher end cabinets and they were not even installed correctly. They came with lots of damages, they are still not fixed even though the house has closed for 3 months. This was not our first time buying a new home, but it was the worst new home buying experience. It definitely did not feel like we were purchasing a home that cost more than a million dollars. We would never recommend anyone to buy a KB Home and we will definitely not buy another one. Here are some of the things that went bad: - cabinet handles were installed crooked, and not aligned. - they come to do touch up paint and left paint drops on the floor. - all the doors are scratched or dented. - the garage door handle just fell off - while we were buying the house, all the home buyers did not get the same price adjustment, some home buyers got additional benefits even though salespeople lied and said everyone is treated the same. - the after purchase service is non-existent. There is no place to send issues. Nobody responds to emails. The only person who tries to help is the construction superintendent. - the KB team was the most unorganized group of people we dealt with. - throughout the whole experience communication we received from different people were all different. Nobody was on the same page. Everyone had different dates, deadlines or records. If we have to organize everyone’s efforts, what are they getting paid for? - it was a very unpleasant buying experience. ... More

The NEW home purchasing experience with KB Home was spoiled due to the lack of attention to detail and follow-up plus the bad quality of materials and workmanship which did not equate to value for the price paid.

Extremely poor communication and rushed process. Warranty items are very slow moving

Found cracks inside and outside of the house,driveways and is not been fixed yet.

As soon as you give them a good review they don’t reply to your calls, voice messages or emails.

Charges top dollar, delivers DIY quality

Just found out that the downstairs bathroom is flooding our walls around it and now growing mold. Kitchen sink had construction debris, with a wood chip clogged in the Ling causing sputtering and low pressure to the sink. Misaligned windows are still not aligned. Doorknobs installed in the wrong room and installed backwards and a bathroom missing locks. Kitchen GFI and gas stove on the same circuit tripping the outside breaker when even turning on the oven light.

Bad experiences... still need improvement pre-sales and post-sales.

I had my worst experience buying a home from KB.

Our home isn’t finished! It’s been 2 months since we closed.

I purchased a brand new home at the Mattie Pointe community in Auburndale Florida on 10/17/2022. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imaged the disappointment I would have on what was supposed to be my dream home in Florida. It started on the day of my walk through that was scheduled 3 hours prior to my closing appointment in Orlando. I arrived to an unlocked home that was filled with construction materials, filthy, uncompleted work and many damages that needed to be addressed such as damaged kitchen cabinets, missing door locks, cosmetic damages to walls, broken window sill and much more to list. To add insult to it all, the construction manager was a “no show” for the walk through. I had to call our KB sales agent ( Mary) to come and see what I walked into that day. Mary herself was in disbelieve at the condition of the home that we were scheduled to close on in just a few hours. She was able to contact another construction manager ( Bryan ) to come and perform the walk through with us. At that time an exception letter was drafted with the issues that needed to be addressed to allow us to close as scheduled. I was assured my Bryan that all issues would be rectified in 30 days of signing. All said issues have not been completed and my latest construction issues has become a complete nightmare. What I have experienced with KB homes is complete dissatisfaction and have experienced the failures of the tradesmen that KB has hired to perform their construction of their homes. Tradesmen who do not takes pride in their work leading to construction issues that all could be prevented if they did. I have experienced nothing but empty promises to having work done on my home that should have been done correctly in the first place if people would have just taken pride on the work they do. The most unfortunate aspect is that their failures fall on KB’s reputation. The first day I moved in on 10/17 my master shower would not drain. I contacted the warranty department to have this addressed . It has been one set back after another and as of today still not completed. I have had to make several calls to have my shower repaired. The first plumber who came out to inspect the shower confirmed that there had been concrete poured down the drain and that is why the shower would not drain. The plumber left and said I would receive a phone call with further instructions. I never received any phone call and finally had to contact the warranty department again to find out what the next step would need to be. It was confirmed that a new shower pan would need to be installed in order to rectify this issue. Keep in mind that this has been an issue with alot of back and forth emails and phone calls since October. On 11/17 a service crew came out to remove the shower door and track. I was informed by the service man that the shower doors had been installed backwards and that when he returns to reinstall he will do them correctly.. Really! On 11/21 a crew came in to remove tile and drywall then the plumbing crew arrived to remove the old shower pan and replace with the new one. On 11/22 the tile crew returned to inform me that they could not re-tile the shower because the brand new shower pan was incorrectly installed. The plumbing supervisor returned to inspect the shower pan and said the pan was in stalled correctly and that the wall was not constructually correct and needed repair. The plumbing supervisor contacted the construction supervisor to come an inspect the wall. He would correct the wall himself and contact the tile crew to come back and complete the tile work. The construction supervisor left my home stating he did the necessary repairs and the tile crew would be back today to complete their work. A few hours later a construction serviceman arrived stating he was called to come and fix the wall in the shower. I had informed him that I was told it was all fixed by the construction manager. I had the construction serviceman exam the repair and was told that it was done incorrectly and was not the way a problem of that nature should be fixed. He then insisted on completing the repair and completing it correctly. The construction serviceman then informed me that the new shower pan that was installed less than 24 hours prior had been damaged with scratches and a corner piece broken off. These damage were not there during the plumbing inspection that was done with myself present that morning. These damages were done during the initial repair done by the construction manager. It’s now December and I still do not have use of my master bathroom and none of the other construction issues have been corrected. The lack of “ caring “ about the home owner from your construction tradesman, construction manager and your warranty department is just unimaginable. The lack of communication and sense of urgency in completing tasks is truly disheartening. Not to mention all the time I have taken out of work to get these repairs completed and still not one thing fixed. I am a home buyer who purchased my home in CASH. I expected to have a brand new home without damages and in working order. I purchased a home that was supposed to have 2 working bathrooms and beautiful undamaged kitchen cabinets, a wall that was supposed to be constructioned properly.. I did not receive any of those things. Would you go to a car dealership and purchase a brand new car with scratches and the engine not working?? I would hope not. It is very hard to get hold of builder point of contact.

I am a second time KB homeowner. This experience has been HORRIBLE. I have encountered multiple issues that were pointed out several weeks prior to closing. The issues pointed out, poor craftsmanship, wrong appliances installed, defective carpet installation, wrong size vanity for second bathroom, drywall application and upgraded painting application were all horrendous. I purchased a new home that should have the upgrades and appropriate workmanship I paid for. This is the biggest purchase I have ever made and has resulted in the biggest disappointment.

Several delays in contract preparation, had to be redrafted due to several errors, issues in design studio where designers were unaware of all upgrade options, build time was over three months later than initially promised, moved in with a laundry list of contingencies that have STILL not yet been addressed after living here over 60 days. My 39 day inspection even came in after 45 days. Will not build with KB ever again.

Clearly dont buy KB Home

Very poor workmanship. Poor communication and ability to get repairs done. We paid a lot of money for our home and all we asked was to make things right and that has been a real challenge.

I found 30+ issues with including an upgrade missing I paid for, quality issues, defects, etc. I never got the soft close cabinets I paid for and there’s no urgency to fix this. My door frames to the rooms have warps and gaps so wide you can see to the other side with the door closed. They scratched my tiles really bad trying to install a wall oven pre-closing and didn’t use anything to protect the floors when they set it down and slid it around, etc. the list goes on to over 30+ things. Someone came out to document all of my warranty concerns a few days after I moved in. Then they didn’t document them in the system, nothing every got scheduled, she disappeared and went silent, and didn’t show up at a scheduled meeting with me this past week which was meant to smooth over this absolutely NIGHTMARE process. Now, 2 months later, I’m still chasing KB Home to try and fix all the broken things they left me. KB paints a picture that you’ll be taken care of post closing, but you won’t. If you’re considering buying a home from them, don’t make the mistake I made by trusting they’d take care of issues post closing. Once I closed, the only person who cares anymore is my sales person and even he’s limited on what he can do. ... More

Many unfinish items, No INSPECTIONS DONE BY KB PM I had to found all issues, still unsolved

2 months after moving in and many items still not resolved.

It take more than 1 year to complete building my house. I was lie to by initial sale person than there was not material shortage and later found out not the case. Th workman ship is terrible. I had to hire home inspector top find 20 flaws. The front and back side concrete crack before we move in. The water heater van is leaking form the roof despite numerous effort to get it fixed. Do not recommended to buy house build by KB home.

6 month delivery delay, unprofessional after completion of sale. Independent building inspection revealed 100+ items not in compliance with building code. Obviously short cuts were taken in construction of my townhome. It’s a brand new home.

My title sums it up, quantity over quality. Two months after closing and they still can't finish off the list of items needing to be corrected, for any one removed, two are added (poor workmanship). Contractors show up and either don't know how to fix correctly (they sent the new guy), the fix is worse than the original issue, they just don't show up at all, or cancel the day of. Someone might respond to your concern, but don't expect it to be fixed for months (if ever?! TBD...). I no longer trust in the follow through to be sure work is actually completed well, all the way up to regional manager. I could go on, but as this is at least the second survey we have done and so many items are still outstanding, I am tired. Maybe that is what KB was hoping. Sad. ... More

Workmanship is terrible. Was a headache through the whole process.

When it comes to anything getting fixed after your 10 day walkthrough, forget about it. I will never recommend KB home to anyone.
