House was not completed properly on due date. Many issues existed that were located after we moved in. Items ordered and installed were not the same as we had selected in the showroom. Everything that needed to get corrected is an order that gets placed and then your at the mercy of the contractor to show up weeks later. There is no quality control. No one is monitoring the actual work of the corrections. Sometimes out of the blue a contractor would show up unexpectedly. The warranty department takes days to answer. Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. I was very disappointed with the build quality and with Brian the superintendent who was unprofessional and intentionally delayed and messed up the build, I am very surprised that the Sales team (Tim) who knew of the price reduction forced me to sign the contract for the unfinished, very poor quality deliverable 2 days before the price reduction.

Sales lady misrepresented what was included in base price , seldom followed up , and pushed document to sign which had not been filled out . Lax attitude from construction supervisor throughout building process Ie ( roof ) asked multiple times to inspect it and is now in need of repair . As we got closer to the closing date issues we pointed out were ignored, dismissed, or not addressed at all. The finance side of things were great, but overall the experience was not what it should have been when buying a new home.

I was told by the team Reg a $3k credit for closing but they finally said it’s not possible. The initial lot I was shown was 40ft wide but it was a mistake and just touching 36 feet wide only. I came to know this after 6 months of initial deposit. I tried to reach out to KBHOME management through sales, financing, construction leads but no response on the status of $3k credit. Poor customer experience.

Selling incomplete homes with poor build quality

Forced us to close even though house construction wasn't finished and 2 months later still didn't fix windows, kitchen cabinets and leaking HVAC. KBHome recommendation for us to use bucket whenever we AC and pray to God leaking doesn't cause electrical damage to HVAC.

Experience on home readiness and loan closure process

Experience with the home readiness was very bad. Lot of issues has been raised during the entire process but it was not addressed. Loan closure was the worst experience compared to everything. I was expecting a call from customer manager at least with an apology for what has happened but it never happened.

Many things did not go as planned with building our home. When a change needed to happen or something was prolonged it took for me the buyer to ask questions and find answer and no one ever knew what was what.

Preapproval process was terrible thru KB. Was approved fully thru my lender and was told that I’m going to loose my house because I wasn’t qualified enough. KB lender could care less had to basically show the money and then there attitude changed. Then when I came to building my house was one of the first houses started and took longer to build than others. The KB Construction team very awful, very nightmarish. They are not very communicative, not cooperative to give the KB-promised quality. I am still very disappointed because of construction. The home could have been better • The bay window was lopsided by 1 inch on the right, .5 on the left. They built and set the window crooked. • The bay window itself was replaced 4 times because KB kept placing broken windows. • 4 windows and 1 mirror had scratches • The moisture barrier was missing for almost 8 months • Construction failed inspection twice, there were 3 broken truss and 3 unsecured ...

If I have to go and am able to see easily spotted problems then it shows that the usually expect to have the buyer have to do the checking for them which is not a good practice. I also complained about bugs getting through the side of the walls on the house. I feel KPH Holmes builds a good home, But their responsisiness to the customer is poor, They pulled back a $2000 offer at the sales office, And refused then negotiate anything for a better deck, I ended up with a tiny deck.. Very poor customer satisfaction at the management level.. I would not recommend kbh homes the anyone else.
