House was not completed properly on due date. Many issues existed that were located after we moved in. Items ordered and installed were not the same as we had selected in the showroom. Everything that needed to get corrected is an order that gets placed and then your at the mercy of the contractor to show up weeks later. There is no quality control. No one is monitoring the actual work of the corrections. Sometimes out of the blue a contractor would show up unexpectedly. The warranty department takes days to answer. In essence, they took our money, an now we are forced to wait for all repairs to get done whenever they get done with no priority for us since it is not an emergency. Not only did it take o year to build my home, the closing date moved twice. There have been numerous issues (they’ve been fixed) that were annoying. Ie: leak under driveway, gas line not hooked up to furnace, carbon monoxide leak due to hvac not being hooked up properly,…I could go on. Definitely wasn’t expecting these issues when spending over 400k.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. Causing us to push the sale of our home back. When we came for our final review before closing we had broken window, the house was filthy, broken cabinet drawers, no final paint done, on missing shower heads, missing mirrors, missing door knobs, holes in living room ceiling a huge hole in the bathroom wall, no shelving in the linen closet, back porch ceiling damage, back porch floor damage. H16 screwdriver hole across kitchen ceiling. At this point we were told our ovens were no longer in stock and were replaced with different ovens that we did not even approve of, and the wrong dishwasher. All the electrical was not wired correctly. This was 2 days before closing! The day of closing we had another walk through nothing had be touch. We had our movers bringing our furniture in while painters and electricians were trying to fix what they could. I was very disappointed with the build quality and with Brian the superintendent who was unprofessional and intentionally delayed and messed up the build, I am very surprised that the Sales team (Tim) who knew of the price reduction forced me to sign the contract for the unfinished, very poor quality deliverable 2 days before the price reduction.

Sales lady misrepresented what was included in base price , seldom followed up , and pushed document to sign which had not been filled out . Lax attitude from construction supervisor throughout building process Ie ( roof ) asked multiple times to inspect it and is now in need of repair . Customer service not following through on things needing replaced or repaired , requested at 10 day review ( we are 6 weeks post closing ) still undone . And lastly I sent email back in November after receiving a welcome card from ( name I don’t recall ) listing concerns I had , that has yet to be replied to .. enough said ! They don’t care ! ... I will never build with KB homes again The supervisor was fantastic. but that’s the only highlight of the whole experience….

As we got closer to the closing date issues we pointed out were ignored, dismissed, or not addressed at all. The finance side of things were great, but overall the experience was not what it should have been when buying a new home.

To many issues w house that you wouldn’t think you’d have. After all it is a new home. Paint job is terrible! We got an “upgraded door,” all they did was pain it black!!!

I was told by the team Reg a $3k credit for closing but they finally said it’s not possible. The initial lot I was shown was 40ft wide but it was a mistake and just touching 36 feet wide only. I came to know this after 6 months of initial deposit. I tried to reach out to KBHOME management through sales, financing, construction leads but no response on the status of $3k credit. Poor customer experience.

I lost $70K because of KB Lender. Long story but just saying stay away from the KB Mortgage!!!

Forced us to close even though house construction wasn't finished and 2 months later still didn't fix windows, kitchen cabinets and leaking HVAC. KBHome recommendation for us to use bucket whenever we AC and pray to God leaking doesn't cause electrical damage to HVAC.

I’m dissatisfied with the quality of cheap materials that KB Homes put into the building of the homes. Although they build the homes in great locations. Still the quality needs better performance, design and selection.

Don't trust what you are told, especially the inhouse lender and the sales persons.

The entire process of the homebuying experience has been poor and lackluster there was no wow factor I was not excited about purchasing the home and after purchasing the home. The new homebuying experience has been stressful and unpleasant the entire processWith the builder and other issues that took place during the build and the after home purchase I’ve been awful. The buying experience did not feel like a new home purchase felt like a used house purchase they were so many problems with the home that had to be addressed and still need to be addressed. Many issues like damaged tile missing grout holes in the wall damage bathtub damage master shower Damage cabinets Dead grass damage garage door cracks and walls missing paint damage stucco. And other minor issues have made the whole buying experience unpleasant. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a home after the experience that we have had. Experience with the home readiness was very bad. Lot of issues has been raised during the entire process but it was not addressed. Loan closure was the worst experience compared to everything. I was expecting a call from customer manager at least with an apology for what has happened but it never happened.

Many things did not go as planned with building our home. When a change needed to happen or something was prolonged it took for me the buyer to ask questions and find answer and no one ever knew what was what.

Very poor work and show room experience sucked. Been lied too twice, rude manager

Preapproval process was terrible thru KB. Was approved fully thru my lender and was told that I’m going to loose my house because I wasn’t qualified enough. KB lender could care less had to basically show the money and then there attitude changed. Then when I came to building my house was one of the first houses started and took longer to build than others. Was told it was because of no being able to get supplies and was given every excuse in the book. I was told the house being able to close escrow was being pushed back because of certain supplies not being available even though they were installed already. Has to send pictures of them installed on the house to push to get in. It was a terrible process start to finish. Now that I am in the house I am have to call to come get things fixed that weren’t done right. ... More

I have had way too many issues with a brand new house.

Extremely unhappy with the way the sale was handled.

The KB Construction team very awful, very nightmarish. They are not very communicative, not cooperative to give the KB-promised quality. I am still very disappointed because of construction. The home could have been better • The bay window was lopsided by 1 inch on the right, .5 on the left. They built and set the window crooked. • The bay window itself was replaced 4 times because KB kept placing broken windows. • 4 windows and 1 mirror had scratches • The moisture barrier was missing for almost 8 months • Construction failed inspection twice, there were 3 broken truss and 3 unsecured joints. KB Construction was not fixing it until I almost cancelled my deal. • The closing date was pushed 3 times, total construction time was 10 months (much longer than expected) • I wasn’t provided a closing date, my bank told me • The garage roof has a hole that lets car gasses in. • The fence is not spaced evenly and the wood is molded • The front door was not adjusted properly • The windows were not draining water appropriately, there was water stored in the walls • The ground elevation was not accurate, water pools in random places • Most cabinets were broken and not replaced. • There were no weekly meetings or updates, I had to go EVERYDAY to see progress • Our kitchen upgrade sink is scratched and pools water • SherwinWilliams said KB gave a lower quality wrong color paint for the exterior there’s a few more things for structure integrity, still was not to what KB promised. Troy from the Warranty Team is very attentive and good, he’s been trying to improve everything Construction has ignored. I am very thankful for Troy and the Warranty Team. Had a very bad experience with the whole crew from Sales to Lending

The finish of the house was not done well. It’s like the project manager didn’t even review the final finish. If I have to go and am able to see easily spotted problems then it shows that the usually expect to have the buyer have to do the checking for them which is not a good practice. I also complained about bugs getting through the side of the walls on the house. A few weeks later and I am seeing ants come from behind the stove and out of one of my electrical outlets in the kitchen. The garage cement finish was also terribly done. There are cracks all over and this is probably due to a rushed job. The amount of cracks and length is not your “average” dry cracks it’s a lot of them. KB homes acts like their gifting their houses away to the customer, they act like I’m not paying over 280k because if they did they would at least try to solve the issues told them. ... More

I feel KPH Holmes builds a good home, But their responsisiness to the customer is poor, They pulled back a $2000 offer at the sales office, And refused then negotiate anything for a better deck, I ended up with a tiny deck.. Very poor customer satisfaction at the management level.. I would not recommend kbh homes the anyone else.
