Preapproval process was terrible thru KB. Was approved fully thru my lender and was told that I’m going to loose my house because I wasn’t qualified enough. KB lender could care less had to basically show the money and then there attitude changed. Then when I came to building my house was one of the first houses started and took longer to build than others. Was told it was because of no being able to get supplies and was given every excuse in the book. The KB Construction team very awful, very nightmarish. They are not very communicative, not cooperative to give the KB-promised quality. I am still very disappointed because of construction. The home could have been better • The bay window was lopsided by 1 inch on the right, .5 on the left. They built and set the window crooked. • The bay window itself was replaced 4 times because KB kept placing broken windows. • 4 windows and 1 mirror had scratches • The moisture barrier was missing for almost 8 months • Construction failed inspection twice, there were 3 broken truss and 3 unsecured ...

The finish of the house was not done well. It’s like the project manager didn’t even review the final finish. If I have to go and am able to see easily spotted problems then it shows that the usually expect to have the buyer have to do the checking for them which is not a good practice. I also complained about bugs getting through the side of the walls on the house. A few weeks later and I am seeing ants come from behind the stove and out of one of my electrical outlets in the kitchen. The garage cement finish was also terribly done. I feel KPH Holmes builds a good home, But their responsisiness to the customer is poor, They pulled back a $2000 offer at the sales office, And refused then negotiate anything for a better deck, I ended up with a tiny deck.. Very poor customer satisfaction at the management level.. I would not recommend kbh homes the anyone else.

I would HIGHLY recommend using your own lender along and make sure you are on top of them because they dropped the ball A ALOT.

Horrible sales staff, not customer service friendly, wood that was used to build our home had mold on it, contractors used to build our home were very unqualified and our concerns were not taken seriously. I will never buy another KB home again, ever!

Poor Craftsman

Beautiful location, but construction of the home is not worth the price we paid. The craftsman is of poor quality. It is has been a huge headache dealing with all the issues we found around the house. The customer service has been good to send out the different trades to get the issues addressed, but some of the issues remain. The house was built too quickly and the attention to detail was horrendous.

There isn’t enough room here to cover everything that didn't come remotely close to meeting expectations. My advice to prospective buyers, do your research and look for options elsewhere.

KB took shortcuts while building the home, including placement of electrical outlets and number of switches operating the lights. KB repeatedly stated they would fix a mistake, but did not. KB charged lot premiums with no reasonable explanations. KB did not explain all features of the home and property, resulting in purchasing options that were not necessary. Home features are on the low end.

KB charged me an $800 capricious fee for delay of escrow. The delay was because KB ignored and then flatly refused to provide information to my outside lender. Beware! If you intend to use an outside lender you will probably run into problems.

6 pages of 30-day items because there was a water leak on DAY 1 that led to a continuous cycle of contractors damaging my property. I went through the list I sent to Chris (my superintendent) and checked on what was done today. Today was supposed to be the day they took care of most of the 30-day walk through items. Worst experience buying this home from the beginning and still till this day many problems with the home. Per some of the contractors it was said that the Project manager had said to (f) that house. I regret buying this home. I live behind a busy road and I could hear every car passing by all the way to my bedroom and can hear everything outside. I feel like I’m at outhouse bathroom with vent making noise like dripping water and could hear everyone talking outside. Very uncomfortable and poor value of the walls. This has caused stress and sleepless nights.
