Happy to buy a new house. Good quality!

Our Sales counselor was awesome and on top of everything! Over all the quality of the home is good. We have some issues with paint,Trim, and caulking on your kitchen island and closet shelves, But a major problem which was our toilet was fixed immediately! All the problems we currently have our minor and can get fixed near the year mark! We got a great price on our home compared to other builder competitors. Staff were very friendly. I highly recommend KB homes! No other home builders give a good price on a home compared to them and you get two years of customer service for any issues.

Multiple issues with the KB house after we moved in. You have to file claims to fix these issues and it takes long time for the construction problems to be fixed. All appointments are scheduled during my work hours. Do I need to quit my job or hire a house sitter to be at home for all these after purchase repairs? It was the worst decision of my life to buy a new construction/KB home

Chris- Building supervisor, Ingrid- sales, and Dave Building Super, these three are very professional and efficient. They were always checking in on us to make sure our home buying experience was the way we wanted it to be. They sent us pictures of the whole process from start to finish. They made sure we were happy with our home before we closed.

We, and all of our neighbors were pressured into giving a good review. Our closing date was changed on a Friday at 445pm to the following Friday evening, when closing was supposed to happen Monday morning. When we told them that we already had made plans to move out of our apartment and would be homeless on Monday, they said the only way for us to close on time was if we said we were 100% satisfied with the house, even though there were tons of blue tape issues that still needed to be addressed. Had they told us about closing getting rescheduled just 2 days earlier, we wouldn’t have been compelled to lie on our closing survey. KB never sent us our AC warranty. When we called to address the issue they just said it had expired even tho it was their fault for not sending it. Now we have no AC warranty. The tree in the front was dead before moving in and never replaced it. When I called they just said they cant do it. Our garage door has been defective for 3 months. Three mechanics have come and still haven’t fixed the door. The quality of the work is horrible and cheap. Pipes are made of plastic and not copper which means they won’t last long before they break or leak. The exterior stucco is already falling off and the exterior paint is already patchy. Baseboards and door frames are cheap, out of angle, and chipped. They claim the interior paint is flat alabaster but it feels like cheap primer and gets dirty by just looking at it. Smoke alarms go off for no reason sometimes even with brand new batteries. Not a single window is leveled and the have mud bumps which causes gaps thru my blinds allowing light to get thru. Stairs handrail is not the color I paid for and superintendent said it was even tho I showed him a picture of what I ordered they push you to believe that you’re wrong so you keep the product. There were defectively stained cabinets which I paid extra for, but the superintendent said he could not replace them and we had to keep them. I’m never buying from KB again and can’t wait to sell this cheap house. I feel like I’ve been robbed/scammed. Customer service is horrible and nobody has answers. I can’t remember how many times they said “I don’t know”. I need to get out of this house ASAP. The buying process was easy, as expected since they just wanna get paid. My Kb home is a quality built home. I'm very happy with the construction and details to the finish work. The sales team (Mark and Kristal) are always happy to help with your questions. It was nice to receive weekly status updates when my home was being built. After move in the service at my home from Juan has been great. He goes out of his way to make sure that your needs and questions are taken care of. While our remaining track of homes is still under construction Kb has 24/7 security service to watch over our new neighborhood.

KB is great, but unfortunately not so great at correcting deficiencies. I have been waiting for several issues (i.e. siding, tile, plumbing, fence, gate, garage floor detailing, drainage) to get corrected. Some issues were (partially) corrected while others have been completely ignored. There is a need for better quality workmanship. Terrible work on the backyard fence and gate. Drainage is not a thing to KB. If you buy from KB I strongly recommend you get all issues resolved before you move in. Otherwise, issues may not get resolved. Once again, I love my home but not the quality of the work. It seems as if contractors are in a hurry to get done and move on to the next project, sacrificing the quality of the work. I think is unfair to KB as their contractors could do a better job inspecting and making sure workers are not doing what I consider to be "Extremely messy work". ... More

We have several ongoing issues in addition to the many, some resolved, experienced. In no particular order: 1) We purchased two ceiling fan presides that were suppose to work off of two wall switches. However, only one switch works and the other is dead (times two). KB electrician blamed us for getting a ceiling fan that he said was not compatible with two switches. That is nonsense as ALL ceiling fans come wired liked the ones we bought. So we paid for something that doesn’t function. 2) We were told that the homes on either side of us and the three behind us would not have the same color scheme. The house directly behind us is identical in color to ours and the one next to that is very similar in color to ours. Not happy with the talk and no enforcement. And it looks stupid with two homes exactly the same color next to each other. Very upset. 3) The sod on the right side of the house as you look at it didn’t take and is dead and looks bad 1 1/2 months in. No effort was made to initially lay the sod on flat ground as the lumps in the sod are everywhere. You should roll over the sod to flatten it and the ground at the time of installation. 4) It has been 1 1/2 months and the coating is coming off the black cabinet handles and you can see silver. That coating is so thin and cheap. 5) The cement has cracked on the sidewalk already. 6) The interior primary bathroom door is difficult to close as it is not aligned properly. 7) The primary bathroom shower drip pan is not centered on the plumbing opening and you can feel the screws from the protective plate with your feet because they are screwed in to nothing. 8) The area to put the modem and router is so incredibly inconvenient. The devices do not fit in the opening and closing the door is difficult. 9) There are chips and holes in many places in the foundation thinset covering. Bugs, moisture, etc., can easily penetrate and get into the foundation. 10) The floor appears to be unlevel in spots as we are finding that we have to adjust chair and furniture legs that we did not have to do in our prior house. Quite frankly, I have another ten issues at least but am tired of typing. And I haven’t mentioned the bad attitude our first builder, Terry, had that really spoiled this whole experience. We are not 100% satisfied and don’t believe that is the KB goal. Sounds nice though huh? ... More
