Love my new forever home! I looked at many builders floor plans and construction, available lots and communities before deciding to go with KB Homes. The floor plan and space are just what I wanted, The people working for KB are great, providing personal care and very prompt addressing any issues since I have moved in. I have had no problems with the home and am very please with my choice to buy from KB.

Buying and building in the age of COVID is challenging. Our initial salesperson was laid off just as we were set to sign and the transition created misunderstandings. The building process was occasionally frustrating as I wanted to understand the end to end process and various steps along the way. Weekly I asked what work was slated. As a retired project manager, it would have been nice if the project plan was shared so i could better understand and anticipate. Also, during the build our home was struck by a lumber delivery truck. The phase 1 construction manager (Gilbert) failed to properly address my concerns. You are made to feel like you are the only homebuyer in the state. The salesman was amazing and stayed involved throughout the process. Also, customer service rep was so organized!!

How unready this house was to move in to. They are still coming out to fix stuff. Some of the people coming have even said this should have been done before I moved in. On a good note KB has done an excellent job of repairing or changing things.

Every single person that we worked With at KB was fantastic. From the sales office, to the design studio, through the construction phase, and afterwords was absolutely amazing. Any concern I had Was dealt with and resolved immediately. I never had to worry that my family and I wouldn’t be 100% taken care of.

I bought my house during COVID-19, when things were crazy and uncertain. They did their best to deliver the full customer service experience given the social distancing limitations. My sales consultant was very accommodating and quick to respond to questions/emails. She also sent periodic pictures of the progress. On the financing/paperwork side, I was a little confused and disappointed. Both of my loan experts got changed on me mid-purchase, which led to a lot of re-sending of things already sent, confusion, and frustration. My final down payment amount changed 3 times in one day (after I had already secured the cashier’s check). There was a shortage of appliances during this time and I had ordered a refrigerator for the house from the design studio. The fridge wouldn’t be ready in time for closing so they provided me with a loaner fridge, which I was then able to keep. There was then a lot of confusion and miscommunication about delivery of my other fridge. I was given a delivery date by one construction manager which we had planned for Thanksgiving week when I was off of work. When the day came, it turns out that the fridge had been sent back and the construction manager had left the company without communicating the fridge issue with anyone else. I spoke with the warranty guy who got right onto the problem. He put me in touch with the regional construction manager who then tried to troubleshoot the delivery of the fridge. The problem was that it could only be delivered the following week when I would be back at work. The regional construction manager was very accommodating about that. The fridge was actually delivered at about 9 that morning. Apparently it was guarded all day while it sat in my driveway. When I got home from work at 4, there were about 5 guys here ready to move the other fridge and install the new one! I was very impressed and pleased with willingness of everyone to go above and beyond to right something that was essentially beyond their control! Easy to work with throughout the build.

Our agent and lender was excellent and kept us well informed. Overall our home is very nice, and the selections were better than other homes we looked at.

From start to finish our experience was wonderful. Prompt service and trasparancy were the key factors.

KB Homes was great to work with! With being a first time buyer and builder we were super nervous but they walked us through everything and were so helpful.

We love our home and all the features. We were happy to be able to personalize the floorplan as well as the materials. There is room for improvement on the overall finishing of the home but KB has been working with us to ensure that all details are taken care of.

We were reluctant to build with KB based on others' experiences we'd heard about, but in a tight housing market, we decided that it was the easiest way to get a house in the location we wanted for a reasonable price. The sales experience was fine. The design studio process was unnecessarily confusing and time-consuming because they use software from the 1990s (I'm talking green type on a black screen) that makes it take forever for the consultant to give you the price for something and ultimately build the order. Our first consultant made several key errors. We complained about this and the manager did our final appointment (via Google hangout due to COVID). She was great, but after our home was in the build process I really wish she (or someone) had walked us through the lighting locations. We ended up with a lot less overhead lighting than we would have chosen if we knew how few lights they would provide. The build process itself was not well-supervised. Subcontractors installed broken cabinets and then the construction manager had them patched up later. Our window wells are uneven so our blinds fit well at the top of the window but not at the middle or bottom. This is a framing error. I could go on, but basically anything we didn't upgrade was inferior and even some of the stuff we did upgrade wasn't the quality I would have chosen. We've found a lot of mistakes in the couple months we've lived here. Nothing we can't either fix or live with. Not sure another Austin-area builder would have done a better job as they all use the low bidder subcontractors. Thankfully my husband is super handy. Be prepared to watch everything, spend the money on a 3rd party inspector, and then set aside a couple thousand dollars to make your home what you want it to be. ... More
