Somewhat sloppy on workmanship. Many finish details overlooked. Tiles with saw marks continuing for inches past a cut of a tile. Most window sills without paint on sides or bottom. Sloppy caulking around door trims but painted over anyway. Overall, a nice house, but with many finishing touches overlooked. The people at KB who have been helping us resolve issues after move-in have all been very responsive and great to work with, though.

I have had both the construction manager and sales manager both got promoted. Once the construction manager was promoted the things that were found after two weeks have yet to be resolved. I got the info for the gentleman who was supposed to take over we met I laid out all the concerns. It was a month later I had to email said gentleman because I had no update on my issues and it took him 5 days to respond.

Great use of technology to share with you pics of the progress of your home ! Did complete the home build up on time as per the deadline. I also recommend the quality of energy efficient home feature. Post follow ups after you move in to address any concerns. Home Orientation educates first time home buyers about the home.

I ran around town looking at resell homes and a couple of other builders in the area. Because of the current market, pricing is what it is. I wanted the best bang for my buck. The biggest thing for me was "what if something breaks, can I afford to fix it." Being realistic, there wasn't really any good reason to buy a resell home when builders are offering brand new homes at same price range. Of course there are the lived-in home benefits to a resell but for me, I am not handy. Knowing from the ground up everything is new, under warranty and I have a year to call someone to come fix it if something happened. I looked at LGI Homes right down the road from KB. I went back to LGI about 5 times before I decided their floor plan didn't scream out to me "this is home." The pros to their property were 3 sides masonry, brick/stone combo, granite, nice cabinets and other standard things in the house considered as upgrades with other builders. I didn't feel that the square footage was put to good use. For example, for the home size of 1350 sq.ft., I thought things were not balanced like the over-sized bathroom. To me the floor plan was a waste of space in comparison to the actual master bedroom. Things like this stuck out and kept me going back and forth. Do I really want to sign here? What you see is what you get. Their homes are beautiful and the included selections are beautiful as well. There was no lack of quality by any means. So I went to visit with KB Home to see what they had to offer. When I arrived to meet my sales person, Severo greeted me with a smile and asked what we were looking for size wise and lead us right to the model homes. He didn't ask for preapprovals just got us right to the end product. When we walked the 1353 model home, of course perfectly decked out, we immediately said this is the one. I was so surprised that the floor plan made good of its space. Yes we would have loved to get a bigger house but it wasn't in the budget. So we decided on the 1353 floor plan. 3 bedrooms with den. I loved it from the moment I stepped in the model. It was cozy and we could see ourselves living there. We talked about the options, things that were included and what were upgrades etc. The start price of the house left us wiggle room for the upgrades that we needed. We went over a short list of must haves with Severo to get an idea of what the end cost could be and to decide if it would meet our needs and expectations. We went home to sleep on it. Googled builders and reviews. KB and LGI were the top builders based on reviews in my area. That same night, I emailed Severo and set up the appointment to sign a contract. We went on a Sunday and selected the home site, signed the contract. I only had to put up $500. (LGI was $1,000). The reason we went with KB Home was the simple fact that we could customize our home, even down to what side of the road we would be on. (to an extent of course). I "sacrificed" 3 sides masonry for selections that made me happier than how much brick I had. I obsessed about my selections for weeks. I made several trips to the KB studio. Pulled samples, matched colors, changed my mind 800 times. It was stressful but a fun kind of stress. I was able to fulfill my love of the color gray and build around that instead of pre-selected brown granite that I really didn't love. I love my aspen colored granite with my raised breakfast bar and pendant lights. LGI could never compare for me, even though their kitchen had more cabinets and tile floors included. They weren't my style in the end. There wasn't even an option for a covered porch. Some things, for me, matter more than having 3 sides masonry. I don't stand outside and stare at the side of the house and wish for more brick but I would have stood in my home wishing everything wasn't brown. Construction started fairly quickly, some weather delays at first but not much. I signed in March and Closed in November. Severo sent me weekly updates and pictures of the progress. I didn't have to drive out there to see it all happening unless I wanted to. He was always super helpful and never pushy. If any issues came up, he helped get it taken care of with the right people. Now I live in my new home and come to find some things I wish I would have done in the build, like under cabinet lights and over the toilet cabinets but nothing major. I did find that after living in the house, there wasn't a ton of storage inside. The master bedroom closet wasn't really that big but totally find. The shelving could have been set higher up so I could add more below after the fact. Not much room for a nightstand between the bed and closet door. Little things like that. I didn't buy a castle so it comes with its territory. I love my home and I love KB. I could see myself building again with KB when its time to upgrade the home. People are always amazed when I tell them I picked out that marble counter in the bathroom and matched the cabinets. It's so fun to talk about and share pictures. Its almost been a year since I signed the contract and it is just so exciting. Were there issues, yes. Major ones? No. Anything I brought up was addressed and taken care of. Humans build the houses so everything won't always be perfect but to me its perfection. I know I made the right choice. Now if KB could do something about the traffic, Manor would be a better place! The home is great. we love it. It was a model home , We had to have a few things worked on for move in. This was handled very poorly, workman ship very poorly done. The worst thing we encountered was the workers building your new homes across the street have driven in my drive way with dump trucks, trash trucks , trucks loaded with bricks ..And then they have driven in my YARD , rutting my it , over my sprinklers , over 4 times with my pleading for this to stop. Have asked for help and now we are wanting my yard repaired and my drive replaced,, CAN you help. Sad part we love the area and Home .. Not your unconcern of my New home we love . ... More

Stages pretty good for a month later couldn’t get in touch of the engineer

I love the design of our home, very spacey and organized. However, the metal made up the sink is easily scratched, which I wish we could have better quality of items made of metal. The constructors were very responsive in the 30 days period of home warranty after closing. Though we still have 2 years warranty with other constructor, they responded slowly and I haven’t heard from them yet. I hope I can hear back from them soon.

Good experience overall, however closing process was rushed and a few issues that needed to be fixed should have been done so before closing rather than rush and get to it afterwards. Since then there has been delays with repairs and poor communication. A lot of the issues wouldn’t be there if workmanship was better.

Overall a great home and look forward to living there for years to come. Be builder can be a little slow in address issue after moving in. But overall good

GI, Zach and Jason did a great job

We're fine with the home, but long story short, we're finding issues with the house after about a month of being here. The sales team and building project manager are responsive, but things would have been better if the builders were not in a rush to finish the home. We've dealt with stuck doors, wet paint, a leaky sink, unsealed garage, a number of other issues that we were told would be fixed after inspection and closing. Some thing have been fixed while others are still outstanding- for example, a faulty oven that apparently, was a company-known issue being experienced by other home buyers. Moving forward, KB probably shouldn't buy wholesale appliances from Whirlpool. It does not seem like a good idea. We may need to call and email them to file for a warranty-replacement... again, after only about a month in living here. I'm giving the experience 4 stars because the sales director and project manager have been nice to work with. ... More

First time buying experience can never be smooth but i live my community and my home. The only thing i would say so is the quality of workmanship could be a little better especially for the price we paid for it.

The experience was good. The homes are very nice and neat. The employees/staff were all very friendly and professional. They made the home-buying experience much more enjoyable!

Lack of attention to detail, so many irregularities one spots only after the fact I guess the excitement of getting a new house vails the blemishes initially truly disappointed with that fact.

I bought a ready to move in house. There are many small things needed to be completed before. However, after closing i found it very difficult to get those things done. Such i had to call thousands of times just to get installed sud, and other stuffs like crack, missing paints, AC check for temp differential are still not done. Customer care is another worst part. I called them a month ago which they never did follow up.

My experience With Kimberly is top notch! She kept me I informed with the knowledge presented! She explained the process along with realistic timeframe as other folks cannot grasp the concept. Clint was the guy who would update me during the build but after 3 months never heard from him again about the progress. It took almost 11 months for the home to be built due to the market and times. Jeremy, superintendent, knocked it out the ball park with giving me the walkthrough and taping stuff prior to close. Jeremy did his absolute best to get things addressed with folks building the homes and even after closing they are coming out to fix when Jeremy and I follow up with each other. KB Finance needs to communicate in full and not have someone agree to a long term lock without informing the cost of it. The folks who built the homes in my community are having issues as we came together and shared things but it happens. KB is a great home builder they just need to assess who they hire to build the homes as the tile folks hired didn’t seem to care much about the work done as some of my tiles are not lined up, cracked and damaged. Only repairs the tile people did was the glass piece in the middle, I’m aware they got tanked. Painters got copious amount of paint throughout the carpets and texture stuff was taped and not completed. Some side moldings have a gap between them, the stone pieces in the front are all over the roof and didn’t clean that part off. Cabinets that were damaged they attempted to paint over it but used the wrong paint color. Homes still being built they allow trash to go anywhere. My complaints obviously are the ones doing the work as it seems no care since they want to come out multiple to do a task that can be completed once. I’d use KB again but I will not rush myself to close if the home has obscurities. Again, Jeremy and Kimberley are absolute rockstars and take their roles serious! ... More

Great experience for first-time homebuyers. They walk you through the steps and make sure you know what is going on every step of the way. Unfortunately, they cut corners on the finishing touches and left a few things below standard.

Materials are not of good quality, for example, the cabinet we have many broken

We had a good home buying experience all the way from the sales agent, financing team, and build team.

Mark was very responsive with all questions and concerns we had, same with Kacey. Issues with house falling behind original schedule continued throughout the build that was very frustrating especially when balancing rate locks, apartment leases, and movers

Generally speaking, the quality is rather good although there is still some small defects. The salesperson and other staffs are friendly and helpful.

Sales Process was amazing! Kimberly was so helpful and was always around for each step of our hole being built. The builders side of the experience was not the best. After we moved in we started to notice paint chipping outside of the home. The base boards aren’t straight. We felt a little rushed on our final walk, where it felt like we didn’t get to look closely at our home before closing and the builders would mention they would be around to assist if needed. I used KBHS loan services and it is hard to reach out to them. Emails may take days to get a response. It is not easy to reach your loan agent by phone too. Design Studio was ok. Studio employees need more training. I was not able to get certaion answers for some questions I had. there is not enough information for employees to reference for each floor plan's design options changes. HomePro studio appointment was not good. Their consultants don't know what they are selling. They failed to provide some key points about the packages you are puchasing. Get ready for suprises. The built process was good at the beginning. It was fast, and their construction engineer was responsive most of the time. Things got slower at the end. We had to remind every issue multiple times, It was like 1 person responsible from the whole community. We closed a while ago and still trying to get some of the work done that we have spoken months and months ago. The paint job is not the best. Below 3 stars over 5. No attention to detail. Looks like rushed. The room doors are cheap quality. Same as kitchen cabinets. I feel like the standard cabinets in the design studio were different than the ones we have. Both Sales Agents were nice. But Ian gets an extra point for his kindness. This is a nice community but I wish there would be a pool. ... More
