Good Expensive Home, Just Wish The Build Wasn't Rushed

We're fine with the home, but long story short, we're finding issues with the house after about a month of being here. The sales team and building project manager are responsive, but things would have been better if the builders were not in a rush to finish the home. We've dealt with stuck doors, wet paint, a leaky sink, unsealed garage, a number of other issues that we were told would be fixed after inspection and closing. Some thing have been fixed while others are still outstanding- for example, a faulty oven that apparently, was a company-known issue being experienced by other home ...

I bought a ready to move in house. There are many small things needed to be completed before. However, after closing i found it very difficult to get those things done. Such i had to call thousands of times just to get installed sud, and other stuffs like crack, missing paints, AC check for temp differential are still not done. Customer care is another worst part. I called them a month ago which they never did follow up.

Great experience for first-time homebuyers. They walk you through the steps and make sure you know what is going on every step of the way. Unfortunately, they cut corners on the finishing touches and left a few things below standard.

Mark was very responsive with all questions and concerns we had, same with Kacey. Issues with house falling behind original schedule continued throughout the build that was very frustrating especially when balancing rate locks, apartment leases, and movers

Given the Austin's crazy real estate market, KB did a good job with their pricing, as we had to wait 7 months for the delivery. They had good customer service and continuous updates, however, we had no possibility of changing anything in the house at all. The electric job was great. Lawns are terrible, seems like a tractor went through it and they didn't bother leveling it. Paint people are yet to make an appointment to fix the paint issues 2 months after closing. Overall it was a great experience with few hiccups along the way. The KB team was able to acknowledge and address my concerns in a timely matter. If anything was missed, a simple follow up seemed to suffice and any issues were taken care of. One complaint I will have is in regards to the choice of leaving the ugly, black tube for the AC condensation drain. I’ve never seen that before and every house I’ve lived in prior has had some sort if PVC piping going into the ground (sort of a French drain). It looks pretty shoddy while it kills my grass and serves as an ideal chew toy for my dog. ...

Our experience with KB definitely had its highs and lows. In the beginning of the build there was a bit of a foul taste and when considering communication from the studio the thought to pull out crossed our minds several times. It's really unfortunate the staff in the studio was not on point with descriptions and lacked in depth knowledge of options; their lacking lead to issues with construction and our overall satisfaction. Overall the experience was good and we would build again with KB. The finish line to closing was confusing and unnecessarily stressful and some things in the house aren't holding up like they should, like faucets and we haven't even paid our first mortgage. While they have been responsive, the means to fix the problems are a little inconvenient.

Sales, Design Center, Contractors- A+++++++++ KB's Loan Process and Underwriters F++++ We were not first time buyers , good credit, work history and payment history. Not a risk yet we felt like we were being interrogated by the FBI. Customer unfriendly.

Water pipe missed.

I had the plumbers miss the hot water pipe to my washer machine and after a week of moving in, my daughters closet flooded. I was miserable and I started hating my house so much. Everything was fixed a week and a half later. It was a very stressful experience. I’m slowly starting to love my house again since that has been repaired.
