From sales to design studio, construction everything is not up to the mark for the money which you are paying. Think twice before going with KB, be careful at every step with sales & construction people.

The quality of the finishings in the house is quite poor! The interior walls are of very poor quality, and the backsplash finishes are of very low quality!

They may have to make sure before picking upgrades to home. Most upgrades can be done after purchase instead of from builder.

There are still pending issues that we need them to be addressed from warrant team

Workmanship is not good at all. There are many poor quality works that we have found at many places of the home. Even when we asked them to be fixed the persons who came to fix did the same kind of poor quality repairs making no difference. At the time of closing we noted some issues that needed to be addressed. But due to closing timeline, we were told to go ahead get them fixed by warranty. There are two bigger items that are not addressed till date, that we definitely want them to be addressed. Chipped portion of counter top in kitchen that was just glued in, Drive way replacement as it ...

I've had a great experience with the salesperson - Joel and the loan originator - Michelle. They were easy to talk to and work with. However, I only got to know the construction superintendent a couple of days before my closing while I should have been in contact with him throughout the building process. After closing, I came to my house and noticed numerous issues such as dirty windows and bath tabs, and paint on the floor. I reported that but no one cared. My windows and bathtubs are still not clean. There was mold in my kitchen, I reported that but it's been a month and a half since they ...

This was a struggle from beginning to the end! Terrible workmanship and finishing on the home. The caulking and paint job was so horrible, I’m having to call warranty office every week. I’ve already found a water leak in my kitchen within a month of moving in. My walls were cracking even before I moved in. The warranty rep for this communique has been great in responding to issues and making sure it is resolved as soon as possible but if I knew what I know now, I never would have purchased a home with KB. The construction team don’t care and they will lie their way through any questions. They ...

You will have to watch everything the construction crews does on the house - be an active home buyer and hold all the parties accountable. Do not sign the ready to close document until all is fixed they way you like it. If you actively involved all the little or big things can get fixed along the way. Don't let the construction crew bully you. It was less than stellar for my family and quite stressful.

We signed our contract in January and we closed on our house November 5th. Communication was a nightmare! I had to reach out to them to ask what the status was each week. Unfortunately, we were lied to about a lot of things including the corporate office/permit department dropping the ball on ordering our permit. Thankful for Russell, who got involved with us and helped smooth the process but I can’t say the same for the so strict job person Trevor who was responsible for communicating with us from the meadows. He had absolutely zero customer service skills. The biggest disappointment was the ...

KB Home - There were all sorts of mistakes throughout the construction

  • Christopher W.

There were all sorts of mistakes throughout the construction process, a few of which were major. It was difficult to get many of these addressed at all, let alone in a timely fashion. By the time we finally closed (after the closing date had been moved back many times), most of the problems had been addressed in a fairly satisfactory manner, but some problems remain today, since we were just not able to wait any longer before closing, and fixing some of these issues would require major demolition and reconstruction (e.g. entryway walls and corners being very far out of square). Overall, we ...

Mixed Bag: A Review of My KB Homes Experience

  • Nick G.
  • Verified HomeBuyer
  • October 22, 2023
  • Manor, TX

My experience with KB Homes has been a mixed bag. While there have been some positive aspects, the overall journey has been marred by several significant issues that are yet to be resolved. One of the standout problems with our KB Homes experience was the lack of transparency when it came to crucial information about our lot and an adjacent construction project. This lack of disclosure was a major disappointment, as it left us feeling like we were not adequately informed to make a decision about our purchase. Had we been given all the necessary details, we might have reconsidered our ...

I like my new house, but I cannot deny that it has a lot of paint and finish details, it has a problem in the bathroom plumbing which flows into the garage, they broke the wall and left it that way and they still haven't repaired it, I don't I can't and I don't have time to be calling and writing to the repair technician, the yard is old and damaged and still hasn't settled, compared to other new houses that have not yet been delivered, they glued the bathroom floor cover badly and it's peeling off , I need pest control, and many details that I still have no answer

From the sticker in our attic window, our warped stairs, cracked cabinets and leaking backdoor. We feel overwhelmed with the large and small issues. I'm disappointed with the quality in the carpet and bath/shower combo. Our grass in the back yard is muddy an uneven. The quality of our home did not meet the value of what I paid for the home. Carpet with no padding is coming up on the stairs, our cabinets still have a spit, what we were showed in demo to our $3000+ tub shower combo was extremely misrepresented. The communication between our builder to us and the rest of Kb was terrible. Deb ...

Overall buying a KB Home house has been good, selecting the plot and model was easy. Then came the selections at the home studio, it was ok, there were some selections that they offered and some they did not offer but then when the building process began those items that were offered were taken away with the explanation of "Oh we don't offer that at that location/anymore ect." The items that the home studio said were not available I have seen on several of the other homes, it seems like no one know what was supposed to be offered. Then there were changes made some were beneficial others ...

Sales was rude, unresponsive and apathetic. The construction crew was not much better. There were several items that were not broken or not properly installed that they tried to hide as if I would not notice. The only positive was the finance team.
