Since I have moved into my home (and even before closing for that matter) I have had a laundry list of things that were incomplete or not working. These issues range in size from small to large (broken cabinet all the way to leaky irrigation). The lack of communication between KB and their partner companies has been atrocious. Not only that, but the lack of communication to me has been horrible. I want to start off by saying Ryan has been trying his best during this time however I’m still extremely dissatisfied with the follow up with issues regarding the home itself. This was extremely stressful - starting with the price I was quoted going up $3k bc my salesman went on a vacation. Ktichen Tile was wrong had to be pulled out, wrong sales sheets, had to fight for the deposit I gave to Design Center to show on sales closing sheet, lots of errors financially I had to keep on top of. Contractor refused to fix problems pointed out my home inspector. They insisted I fly in for closing on 11/30 and the home was NOT even CLOSE to being able to close. I still waiting for the part replace to be fix also the construction next door just brought lots of dirt and mud in from on my driveway and no one seen to clean that out. According to the city that is an environmental problem having so much dirt with no erosion control.

I was promised several incentives that were not put in contract, then told it's not in contract so too bad. Also construction was supposed to finish projects that were promised, as well as coached me what to say at closing. I did what he said but he didn't hold up to his end of the agreement. Floors are unfinished and walls unfixed. Caulking was unfinished and paint also.

Completely DISAPPOINTED with the quality of the work done on my home, and the quality of the appliances provided, quality of the materials(carpet, drywall boards, dry wall cement/paints, ceiling materials) was used for the construction. I also see lot of cracks in many areas of the house. I personally feel that it is not even worth the 3/4th of what I paid for it.

Everything is varying degrees of slapdash. Once they tell you the home is done it's a monumental battle to get them to come fix the things they said they'd fix before closing.

Over all its just another track home with low quality material & poor workmanship. There are plenty of hairline cracks acros the drywall joints where the tape didn’t have enough mud behind it . The Construction Superintendent tryed to charge me cash for a stone design that was already included in the blue prints. Matt The warranty fellow is terrible at responding the phone, text & emails so far not a great experience. If I have to go and am able to see easily spotted problems then it shows that the usually expect to have the buyer have to do the checking for them which is not a good practice. I also complained about bugs getting through the side of the walls on the house. I have filed 3 better business bureau complaints. so lets start from the beginning. I bought a house on a plot of land i was told I would be able to put a pool in. I paid for the land, I went to the design center and paid 8k for upgrades to my home. From there issue number 1 - I was called and told due to a pipe running under my property I would be loosing 1/4 my yard. My kids would no longer have a pool etc... The KB Construction team very awful, very nightmarish. They are not very communicative, not cooperative to give the KB-promised quality. I am still very disappointed because of construction. The home could have been better • The bay window was lopsided by 1 inch on the right, .5 on the left. Post closing don’t expect much, so make sure everything is checked twice and checked again. No matter how insignificant it may seem make sure it’s done. Addressing issues after close is done at KBs convenience. On 4 separate occasions I stayed how waiting as scheduled and agreed and no one showed up. They did show up at their convenience when I was either working or had something else scheduled, regardless if they are contractors or subs they are agents of KB and should be respectful of your time and privacy. Overall just a bad experience and regret purchasing home, which sucks.

It has been 4+ months since I have been moved to my new home. The house construction was delayed and I got penalized for the loan rate, for renting home. KB promised me to hand over the house within 12-14 months but it took more than that and they never let me know the closing date or time. They just let me know one week before the closing. Every corner you can possibly think of was cut, KB homes is one of the poorest quality homes I have seen. I'm missing full cabinets in the bathroom, fixtures are the cheapest ones from home depot, my shower curtain rod doesn't even have complete hardware. The door going from the garage into the laundry room., when it shuts, the entire wall flexes. That wall is also shared by the master bathroom and even the bathroom door twists. Really Had a bad experience with the KB home builder. There was an issue in my AC unit and drywall cracked in the living area. While on final day closing we collected keys directly from Austin Tile and we didn’t set the temperature to 69 inside the house. In return the builder is blaming us you are responsible to your house. After closing I never been at the house, then how can I responsible. It’s their responsibility to set every thing properly and currently when submitting keys to Owner. I can't say kb in general, but definitely the people running the show in the neighborhood where my home was built . The worst workmanship I have ever seen..... Like there are so many problems with this home I wish I could give it back. The people they contract with are not professional in anyway. So many corners cut, my slab was jack hammered open 3 times because they did the plumbing wrong ... I could go on and on . Stay away from KB homes.
