Construction and sales were amazing

Very Disappointed with not allowing to lock the mortgage rate without selecting the options at KB Studio though we have paid separately for the options which left me paying 2.5% more interest which is a lot. It looks foolish to hold since KB is charging customers for options upfront. House construction quality looks good. Thanks to the construction manager Ray for his timely updates and fixing minor issues in a timely manner. Insulation seems to be low causing hearing TV sound and garage door opening or closing sounds in most of the rooms.

Too bad for warranty,I have problems on countertop and then I wait long time ,nobody help

The materials selection is important because the home buyer is able to choose what kind of product she needs. For example the the second bathtub in my home is cheap and small. It is difficult for any person to take a shower in that bathtub because it really small and uncomfortable.

Overall satisfied with the quality and experience

This is my first home purchase with my husband and it was very easy. We loved working with the sales and construction team. They were all so helpful and professional. They explained everything in detail and we never felt overwhelmed. The loans department was a bit more of a challenge. Our close date was pushed out a week because they had their numbers incorrect however my husband caught all the inconsistencies and we were able to get everything squared away. Overall, we enjoyed our purchase experience and working with KB. I would just tell everyone to read every document and look at all your closing documents so all your numbers are matching up to what you were originally told. ... More

I haven’t been in my house for two months and things are falling apart. Very cheap materials and poor construction. Very unimpressive.

Very good experience in some aspect of the construction, design and quality of the materials used.

The home and construction team is awesome. However we do not recommend using the KB home finance it was a constant roller coaster. Work from home does not work. This was the 4th home we’ve bought using VA and this was by far the most difficult process because of the finance department. Everything else was awesome! So glad they finally got it together so we can enjoy our beautiful home.

I have friends who purchased from other builders and all of the components of their houses are top notch. Many components of my house isnt as great as I hoped it would be. The price range is acceptable, but if these issues were known before buying, I might not have accepted the price range that I agreed to. I would have definitely negotiated a lot more.

From the first day I met Philip May salt it to the last day we closed, what can I say. Philip always answered present to me at anytime even when he was resting at his gym. Jaime goss an extraordinary woman who was able to answer all my questions even when she was also resting. So Zack what to say. Always present at the slightest house concern to the point of coming to do the job sometimes and checking that everything has been done by the technicians. I recently purchased a new home, and while there are some positive aspects, I must highlight a few concerns regarding the walls, paint, and structural issues. 1. Uneven Walls: One noticeable issue with the house is the unevenness of the walls. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that some walls have slight bulges or dips, which affects the overall appearance and makes it challenging to hang artwork or shelves. 2. Paint Issues: There are several paint-related problems throughout the house. I observed uneven paint application in certain areas, with visible brush strokes and inconsistent coverages. While the new home has its positive aspects, such as its overall design and layout, the presence of uneven walls, paint issues, and structural concerns is disappointing. To begin with, the initial experience was all great where we could pick a lot, pick the floor plan, elevation and choose the structural changes and select the interiors of our liking. Good Things: 1. We are happy with the masonry work and how the elevation turned out. 2. Plenty of options for the selection of base floor plan and elevation Bad Things and areas where the quality is poor: 1. The craftsman ship for the interiors is sub par and we are not happy at all with the finish of drywalls, how the corners appear, the materials used for the doors and windows. 2. Drywalls: There are many areas of the house where the coffered ceilings, drywalls, kitchen island walls looks crooked, finish is not good and its not aesthetically pleasing. 3. Painters have not used tapes to avoid paint bleeding on to the edges of cabinets, countertops, other colored walls on the outside and on the garage opener etc 4. Cabinets - Had scratches, paint drops, smudges at many places, we documented everything and shared it with the construction manager before closing but we were promised that this will be taken care after closing by scheduling for a cabinet punch. When the cabinets guy arrived he is blaming it on painters/construction workers and did not fix all the issues. 4. Flooring - We chose Vinyl planking but beware of the floating types, we saw the model homes which was glued however for us they installed a floating type which is shaky at places and makes thumping sound when we walk on some areas, its not a great experience walking on it. We were not explained about this type at the time of selection in design studio and issues we reported were not fixed. 5. Poor quality electric outlets and switches, gaps all around the switch boards/outlets developed within few months. 6. The window sills are not even, the drywall where it meets the sill and windows are crooked, finish of the wood used for the sills looks bad but no quality check is performed and installed without caring for the end product and the for the aesthetic appeal. 7. Garage door is not having a proper seal and lot of mice are entering often which has become a big headache for us. 8. The concrete floor in the garage, patio and driveway has lot of imperfections and holes made due to improper care during construction Also beware of the sales team, some are nice but the one we got was not honest and hid a lot of information and we learnt he lied blatantly and discriminated between different buyers. ... We love our new home! Kyle was very helpful in the sales and closing process and has continued to answer questions post-closing. Carlton explained our warranty with great detail and enthusiasm and seems extremely reliable. Troy has been a champ in helping us deal with some issues post-closing, and we are grateful for all his help in getting us settled in our new home.

Great houses and I would recommend to someone I know!

Since I have moved into my home (and even before closing for that matter) I have had a laundry list of things that were incomplete or not working. These issues range in size from small to large (broken cabinet all the way to leaky irrigation). The lack of communication between KB and their partner companies has been atrocious. Not only that, but the lack of communication to me has been horrible. I get that everyone is busy and y'all are trying to get up as many houses as possible but this has been a horrendous experience and I would advise people to stay away. Let me give you a couple of specific examples: 1. When I did my final walkthrough on May 25th (closing date of May 26th) there was a broken cabinet that I pointed out to my construction supervisor. It was finally taken care of today (7/19) after multiple outreaches from myself. 2. I didn't end up moving into the house until June 10th and on June 12th I noticed a leak in the irrigation system. I texted my construction supervisor on June 12th. I heard back from him on June 14th that he was going to swing by. By that point I had already received notice from the City of Austin that I had a leak for 30+ hours at 10 gallons an hour. The proposed solution was to turn off the irrigation system until their people could come out. So that's what we did. Their people didn't come out until July 12th when they told me "no leak" with no further explanation so we turned the water back on to the irrigation system. Low and behold, 3 days later I get ANOTHER email from the City of Austin saying I've had a leak for 48 hours at 11 gallons an hour. Keep in mind, I didn't receive a single notification about a leak while the water to the irrigation was turned off. Fast forward to today and the same guy comes out and tells me again, "no leak". Unbelievable 3. One of my issues since before I moved in was the fact that there was a 3 inch gap between the fence and the ground. The proposed solution was to have them come lay another layer of sod to lessen the gap. Well, 2 months later and the guys came out today to do that. EXCEPT, they didn't bother to knock on my door or confirm what needed to be done. Instead, I walk out of my office to see 2 guys in my back yard ripping up the grass in the middle of the yard! Nowhere near the fence. They clearly thought they were there to replace all the dead grass because my water hasn't been getting watered because, as you will remember, MY IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS STILL BROKEN!!!!! I send a picture of 2 men with shovels digging up my yard to my construction manager, warranty manager, and the sales person with no response. Again, this has been such a nightmare of an experience. I have tried to be cool and understanding but the lack of communication between all parties and lack of timeliness has me ready to jump out of a window! ... More

We're fine with the home, but long story short, we're finding issues with the house after about a month of being here. The sales team and building project manager are responsive, but things would have been better if the builders were not in a rush to finish the home. We've dealt with stuck doors, wet paint, a leaky sink, unsealed garage, a number of other issues that we were told would be fixed after inspection and closing. Some thing have been fixed while others are still outstanding- for example, a faulty oven that apparently, was a company-known issue being experienced by other home buyers. Moving forward, KB probably shouldn't buy wholesale appliances from Whirlpool. It does not seem like a good idea. We may need to call and email them to file for a warranty-replacement... again, after only about a month in living here. First time buying experience can never be smooth but i live my community and my home. The only thing i would say so is the quality of workmanship could be a little better especially for the price we paid for it.

The experience was good. The homes are very nice and neat. The employees/staff were all very friendly and professional. They made the home-buying experience much more enjoyable!

Post closing don’t expect much, so make sure everything is checked twice and checked again. No matter how insignificant it may seem make sure it’s done. Addressing issues after close is done at KBs convenience. On 4 separate occasions I stayed how waiting as scheduled and agreed and no one showed up. They did show up at their convenience when I was either working or had something else scheduled, regardless if they are contractors or subs they are agents of KB and should be respectful of your time and privacy. Overall just a bad experience and regret purchasing home, which sucks.
