I wish I could have given a better rating but I have to be honest about this review. In my opinion, the construction material is not the greatest quality. We noticed a few things since moving in, such as our front door does not feel secure. A corner of the front door near the lock is cracked, and someone used something like clay to patch the crack. The front door pops open a little even when the door is locked. The lock does not turn completely to assure the lock won’t reopen. The front door feels like hard plastic instead of real wood. The door in the master bathroom does not close unless ...

Brand new home with issues and even though they tell you there is a warranty, no one calls to follow up or give an idea when issues will be taken care of. So not sure whether issues will be fixed.

A Janky Sloppy Dirty Mess

Everyone I worked with one-on-one at KB Home was kind and helpful. This would include my sales agent, interior design specialist, loan processor and construction manager. But these kind people where not the ones assigned to do the actual physical building of my home. On a good note, My home seemed to have a solid foundation, sturdy frame construction, plumbing and electric that were up to par.. But after that the cosmetic work on my home left a lot to be desired. Seller’s agent Tanika had been great but I had some bad experience with a couple of others after discovering a water leak with about a week after moving in. I picked KB because of some friends who had a good experience at another city. Maybe it was the pandemic, the supplies shortages, the shortage in workers but they could really do better.

I get an astronomical amount of automated junk mail and calls from KB home. Representatives begging for survey scores rather than offering solutions. I get contacted more about surveys than I do from the post sale representative that is suppose to take care of my punch list.

The workmanship is one of the major keys that makes the house not worth the price. Everything was so thrown together and now we have to deal with asking them to fix several things that appear to be KNOWN issues but overlooked just to go ahead and secure the sale.

I would not recommend KB Homes to anyone. Unless they really wanted to be in the community that KB is developing. Build quality, craftsmanship and finish and attention to details is inferior to many other builders Like Terry Homes

Our experience with KB wasn’t the best I do hope you guys can work more in the area of communication.It’s always very hard to reach out to the administrative staff.The field staff is ok as a matter of fact Mr Christian is a wonderful man,you can always reach him anytime you want and he keeps you updated on the building progress. I believe KB is using cheap materials for the building construction the concrete the whole building is on is not of good quality we have been seen holes everywhere.

They left splotches of concrete on the driveway ,there are weird bumps in our tile ,they never came to redo our paint , and when they redid our fence the didnt angle it straight across it goes up down back up then down which makes no sense . Brandon has been unresponsive which says alot considering he told me to close on the house and he'd still fix all the issues

Overall, I'm happy with the home itself and have no regrets. It's not the *highest quality* home out there, but, for what it cost, I can't complain too much. That's not to say that the quality is abysmal -- it's a very decent home that looks and feels good and is about worth what I paid. However, the closing process was awful. To be clear, the KB Team responsible for the building and completion of the home was great: I was given timely and accurate updates and the home itself was completed in time to meet a potential close date that would have worked well with my schedule. The most frustrating home building experience I've ever had.

We love our home, but the process to get into it was frustrating. Putting aside supply chain issues that are out of anyone's control, we were jerked around by KB throughout the construction process and communication was inconsistent. The lender they push you to use had poor customer service. The house wasn't ready at closing, and we're still trying to get the last outstanding issue finished. It felt like they were trying to crank out more homes than they're able to do and we fell into the cracks. It doesn't matter how many times they apologize to me, I still will not recommend this builder.

Issues with insurance coverage

I have recently been having to deal with a gap in the insurance covers that was supposed to be paid by the lender/title company causing me to have to be wasting time on the phone because someone dropped the ball on your end. Not very pleased with this. I am not the first person that has bought a home which required wind and hail coverage so I’m pretty sure this company has dealt with knowing that there is no grace period with a new policy and so you all should have paid the policy on the due date as specified on all the paperwork that was sent to you days prior to closing.
