Disappointing Experience

Expecting a wonderful home building experience but had major issues with sales staff and construction. Construction quality was substandard from the framers to the finishers. Walls are not square. Everything was done half way right. Had to stay on top of them everything step of the way and we still had issues. Poor communication from sales staff and construction manager. Great experience with KB Mortgage and Design Center staff. We love the floor plan and the location but so disappointed in construction experience.

Sale rep and construction not on the same page, various items not completed prior to final walk through. Slow to f/u with ticket claims with home warranty service advisor for community. Overall not a great experience.

Poor Customer Service

Customer service has done a poor job on fixing a simple landscaping that I have had from the moment I moved into my new house. The company that KB does their landscaping with has damaged some of my property and has failed continuously to resolve a simple issue. I am going on two months in living in my new house and have yet to fully enjoy my yard. My experience in purchasing my first house has been stressful and disappointing.

From the beginning of our home buying experience we’ve been misled, misinformed, inconvenienced and shown that customers and customer satisfaction is not a priority for KB homes. From random pricing changes and poor quality work to failure to communicate and overall difficulty to do business with, with the exception of the follow up and reliability of Mike, the super intendant, building and purchasing with KB is a grueling and terrible experience. I would not recommend building or purchasing from KB to anyone.

If I could go back and wait to purchase a home, I would. My home buying experience was horrible and now that I’ve closed it’s been my biggest regret. There’s been so many issues and bad customer service. I didn’t have this bad gut feeling for nothing. I can’t wait to get over my waiting period to put my house up for sale. I dont even care to lose Im just done with this headache.

Love the home, the lawn is a swamp

We have lived in the home over 3 months now. We love the house and neighborhood. We were very satisfied with our sales rep and the gentleman who oversaw all the construction - I rated them both "10"s. However, I've reported in writing numerous times that the back lawn is a swamp that never drains, and KB Homes is doing absolutely nothing about it. We can't walk across the lawn without waterproof boots. We cannot mow the lawn because a mower won't make it through the mud. The dogs cannot go outside without getting their feet wet. Ugh!! I love my home but this was truly the worst experience I have ever had. The sales associate I worked with was not honesty, especially at the beginning about times it would take to move in. I was told 3 months and it ended up being more like 8. I would have much rather heard honest answers than dishonest answers just to get me to sign the contract. The construction manager was a breath of fresh air to work with - so that is a huge positive!! I just hated feeling manipulated buying my first home. Sales lady misrepresented what was included in base price , seldom followed up , and pushed document to sign which had not been filled out . Lax attitude from construction supervisor throughout building process Ie ( roof ) asked multiple times to inspect it and is now in need of repair . Customer service not following through on things needing replaced or repaired , requested at 10 day review ( we are 6 weeks post closing ) still undone . This whole home buying process through kb homes was ridiculous! This was by far the WORST homebuying experience ever! I have had 3 homes built, and we'll just say this pales by comparison!

My name is not important what I'm about to tell you is. I used this company to find my forever home and we are highly disappointed with our purchase. First of all they do not honor the soilder that fought for this country. They told me they do not deal with VA loans and that would mean I had to do a conventional loan. They will attempt to sell you a house with shotty craftsmanship. They have amassed great wealth at the cost of the buyer. There homes come with the bare minimum. My experience with KB Homes was terrible from the start and continued to be bad through owning the home. Even after I finally was able to move in, there are multiple construction issues that weren't addressed. I like the floor plan of my home, but would not recommend KB Homes to anyone.

My home buying process started out perfect. The deal sounded great and the expectations were set high by the sales Agent and builder.
