Bad!! Cheap materials; broken promises. Flooded the building—both upstairs and downstairs. Electrical appliances/fixtures all messed up My water heater stopped working. Bad!!! I’ll be building another in 2 yrs hopefully, but never KBHOMES.

Caesar and Mario were fantastic. This is our 3rd new build and KB has been amazing to work with from start to finish.

Everything was relatively smooth. We thought that everything would be perfect and there are some flaws but that is to be expected. Overall experience 8 out of 10 just because we were in contract for so long with so many delays that wasn’t really communicated in the best way

Very disappointed in my home buying experience. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Disgusting how they treat their customers.

The initial or first few interactions with each employee encountered was a fairly pleasant experience. During the build of 8 months and 3 weeks as long as there was nothing to have any concerns about, things were great. Most of the time it took to build the house went smoothly. However, there are a handful of opportunities that need definite improvement to maintain customer satisfaction. SALES (Jourdan): First to begin, the sales rep. After signing the initial documentation and expressing our interest in purchasing a home from KB (earnest money), the sales rep was no longer to be seen. Weekly email status updates were days sometimes weeks behind of what the true status of the house build. We would often know what was happening with the house by going by each week ourselves and walking into the house. The simple drive-by photos seemed like the same photo for weeks at a time sent via email with minimal updates included. DESIGN CENTER (Sarah): Overall the staff at the design center were friendly and helpful, but there were moments during the process that just were not relevant to our design choosing process. One example is the rep’s venting about the hose bib placement on their own build. This did not help provide relevant information to our own home. Had the selection been focused on our own build, I would have opted to add on a third hose bib on the opposite side of the front of the house closer to the front door. Additionally, the laminate wood flooring that we chose for our home was praised as being durable and long-lasting; however, in the short time we have lived in our home we have encountered many instances where the floor needed to be repaired from work done during the final stages of the home build. There are divots in the floor and scuffs that are noticeably visible. Point is, the quality of the floor is not living up to the praise that was given by the design center which is unfortunate because the flooring was an upgrade. BUILD PROCESS: We are very fortunate homeowners when it came to the build process of the home. It may be slightly due to our multiple visits during the week, but I would like to think it really is because of the workers on the site are skilled masterfully in their craft. There were minimal complications during the build of our home. Although, it was a little unnerving to have gone through four different construction managers during the 9-month process. The initial construction manager was late in scheduling our first construction appointment to explain the process of the build. Our first meeting with Garrett was held at the one of the model homes to discuss the foundation and look over the approval from the city of the foundation. We did not go to the site to see and have the foundation/land explained. Foundation was built and laid (land clearing, wood structure for foundation outline, bagging, pipe placement, cement pour) between November 13, 2021 through December 21, 2021. While I do not take it lightly to receive the explanation on how the foundation of the home was designed and built for our specific home, there was lag time from completing the design selections on October 30, 2021 to the first construction meeting January 13, 2022. Upon Garrett’s departure from KB he did notify us that February 11, 2022 would be his last day with the company and provided us the contact information for our new point of contact. The following construction manager(s) that were assigned to the Dove Heights community communicated and responded within a reasonable timeframe when questions were asked about the home build. The second construction meeting was scheduled for the frame walkthrough with David on April 8, 2022. David met us at the homesite and walked through the entire home explaining the frame design, build, and structure. The process was thorough and explained well in terms that a homeowner could understand and appreciate. While David was overseeing the construction of our home, he was communicative and responsive. We had a great experience in working with David for the short time he was assigned to our home. Our next construction manager whom was assigned to our home has been the most professional employee of our experience at KB. Duane has graciously walked us through the final build of our home and sought out to make sure any necessary repairs that were needed from the construction of our home were addressed timely and accordingly. Duane’s service and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. He was never bothered in providing us information on how to take care of our home as a new homeowner. As a new homeowner, it was through his customer service and leadership that really bettered our home buying experience with KB. There were many instances through the process that we had considered going elsewhere due to the lack of service or unprofessionalism that we experienced throughout. There were however some key employees that really improved our experience and helped drive home our decision in staying with KB. We strongly believe in giving honor where honor is due. We would personally like to thank the following individuals for their professionalism, integrity, honesty, attention to detail, and most importantly their service provided to new homeowners. Loan Officer Terri who I believe is no longer with the company. Loan Processor Faran – Faran! Thank you a thousand times more for your patience with us and your mad skills in loan processing. That was not an easy feat and you made the process run smooth like a well-oiled machine! Construction Managers – David, even though our time was short, thank you for your expertise and support! Most importantly, Duane! My husband and I truly appreciate all that you do! You are a huge asset to this company and if it truly was not for you and Faran I think we would have walked away months ago. From start to finish I was very disappointed in the process. The sales person didn’t make an effort in anyway to guide me or give me any information on options. The entire plan was to get me to close ASAP and I had to put a lot of effort to get them to finish my house as promised. I had closed and two months later received my keys because the NEW HOUSE needed to have some items repaired. I still didn’t get my garage door opener at that time. I felt like I was dealing with used car sales staff! Use caution when buying a NEW HOME from this builder.

The craftsmanship from the contractors are very subpar painting was terrible more paint on floor than on walls cleaning crew did terrible job brick work had huge gaps in brick finally got repaired flooring very cheap chips way to easy need to have all replaced

We chose KB Home to build our first house, and we do not regret it. The process was smooth, and the team was excellent. Any questions we had along the way got answered in a timely manner, and the end product was great!

Sales representative was very helpful and knowledgeable about the process and keeping homeowner up to date. Construction manager did a good job in returning phone call and update next steps in construction process. Overall skill levels of builders are questionable, it seems like construction workers do care about the quality of their work. Must jobs where never completed to the satisfaction of completion.

Our home took about a year to build, but not to the fault of KB Homes, the pandemic, supply issues played a big part in the delay. But the KB team of Bob (Sales) and Brandon (Superintendent) kept in touch with us the whole way through. Bob stayed on top of everything, making sure we where informed on the process of the build for the whole year, and worked tirelessly, get get us into the community especially in a very high buying market. Brandon was superb, in making sure our house was to our liking and worked day and night to make our house a home. He addresed all deficiencies we noticed, and fixed them in a timely manner, Brandon still works hard even now. Good houses. Good designs out and inside some issues but nothing crazy, price little bit high but is what it is. Good people they explained step by step all.

scott was very helpful from the beginning of the application to the closing of the home and up till now making sure we are happy with the home , tommy and alvaro have been very helpful with making sure the home was built to our satisfaction and making sure all 30 day walk through have been completed

The overall experience is something I would never want to experience again. This was supposed to be our dream house but we had to choose different products that were not as nice as what we originally chose. Plus we were lied to about when our house would be complete. We had to live in a two bedroom apartment for a whole year.

Always be proactive with every move of the building process. If we did not point out things it would not be fixed until it was too late. Gary was a great project Manger once he took over towards the end of our building. This was very stressful and just could but surrender trust with KB because of all the issues with the first PM. Things were not disclosed fully until we noticed things.

KB built me a quality home in the San Antonio Area!! Joey and Paul were great guys and did an outstanding job getting me in my home and not taking any shortcuts!! KB is highly recommended

Overall, we are happy with our home but we have had a difficult time getting paint for touchups. We went to Sherwin Williams where the paint contractor gets his paint but were told that it’s only available in a 5 gallon can. We tried getting some from the paint contractor but he never showed up as promised.

We purchased a home that the original buyer could not get financing, the home was selected and all the option were selected. When we agreed to buy the home there was not even a foundation poured. It would of been nice to at least have a few design options since we were purchasing a fallout home. I understand how things are ordered in the design phase but would of expected a few concessions, other that that we are satisfied with the home. The support from the construction manager, Mario Luebano was top notch, his attention to detail and genuine care for customers satisfaction was far and above our expectations. ... More

Poor superintendent. Lied numerous times about things that would be fixed only to see they never were. I felt like I was being yes’d the whole time so I would stop asking question. Cole is a huge violator of this as well

Given misinformation from the beginning. I chose my lot based on being told the last 15’ of my yard was a setback, not an easement. That was not true. Everything only got worse from there. I was supposed to close in November 2021, I didn’t close until June 2022. My lot set empty and untouched until nearly November, then it was thrown up in 4months. Because they didn’t have the house ready when it was originally set to close, my interest rate went up 3.25%. I was nearly priced out of my home. So they rushed to close me, because if they didn’t, I would have lost the house I had been showing my kids would be their new home for the last 15months. The quality of workmanship was poor. Screws are already popping out of the drywall, door frames aren’t painted, crooked studs on my frame that makes my walls look like they are bowed and wavy, driveway has clumps on concrete, porch stairs are crooked and has holes in them. When I closed on my home, the punch list had about 30items on it that should have been done prior to closing, but I was reassured that they would all be addressed within the first couple of weeks living there. I’ve lived there 6weeks. 3.5 things from that list have been resolved. Everything else is still sitting there. I get reassured every week that the items will be corrected that week, but weeks come and go, I rearrange work schedules to be there, but no one shows or nothing gets done. In addition to the $500/m I have to pay for increased interest rates, every time I have to change my schedule to accommodate these “repairs”, it cost me time and money. I keep hearing “I understand your frustration”, but THEIR understanding doesn’t make up for a fraction of the amount of money it has and will cost me over the life of my loan because they are incompetent at their jobs and do not hold themselves or tradesmen accountable. I only wish I could do my job as poorly as KB has and still collect my paycheck. This entire experience has sucked any joy out of the home buying process. If I could go back in time and make a different decision, I would not have bought this home. Because when I chose to buy a KB Home 15 months ago, I had other options. Now, I don’t. But I will never buy a KB Home again and I am telling everyone I know to not buy one either. I really hope that wherever the breakdown in skill/communication/accountability/integrity is resolved because no one deserves the experience that I had with KB. And according to the conversations I’ve had with my neighbors, everybody at Woodside Farms has had the same or even WORSE experience. ... More

We love the home. Minor setbacks during the process. But final product was worth it.

New home buying experience was not bad, kept us pretty up to date. Minor issues after move in that are still being addressed. Getting those issues fixed is taking awhile. Home is nice but can tell some stuff was built in a rush

Workman ship sub par, Look at long wait times as in days to get anything fix. New homes look good after a month thing get noticed that are not done or falling apart. Issues brought to builder and nothing gets fixed. Would not recommend KBH do to price and pore build quality. Customer service 3 out of 10 they do nothing.

KB Homes like any other builder is not perfect, so I'd always recommend hiring a 3rd party inspector pre-drywall and for closing. That being said, as long as you stay on top of items with the Construction team, you should have no problems and will be happy you chose KB.

Unfortunately we purchased this house at the end of 2021 during an intense real estate market. Meaning, we paid an excessive amount for a house that would have been 100k or even 150k less a couple of years ago. You’d hope that with the insane cost of this house that work would be done well. We have so many workmanship issues. It’s hard to blame KB for all of it because we do understand it’s hard to find good trades. But geez it’s been one headache after another. The construction manager has been very responsive so it’s nothing against him. However our older home never had these issues of shoddy work. It’s been stressful! ... More
