The entire buying/building process was extremely impressive. Each and every KB Home employee was a true professional, knowledgeable and passionate about what they did. What impressed me most was that I never had to ask for updates during the building process. From Terry, the sales rep, to Joey, the project manager, the communication was flawless. While each was responsible for their own “slice of the pie”, everyone knew what the other was working on and toward. I closed on my home a very happy man who still sings the praises of KB Home to anyone willing to listen.

The loan process was scary at the end not knowing what was needed to close until the last minute and it pushed me back on close dates because of not being told I would need bank transfer for closing! 4 days after moving in I had a jacuzzi jet break and caused water to run through my roof into downstairs causing roof repairs carpet, tile, trimming etc to be replaced already. Cole the project coordinator very helpful and fast at replacing everything but the workers have been leaving jobs about 90% finished causing me to keep asking for workers to come back and finish things they missed instead of doing it right the first time!! My first home and now almost two months later, I’m still getting things fixed from the horrible water damage the jet caused that broke off jacuzzi tub in master bathroom. Not getting what I paid for, I feel like at this point to be honest. I think things were looked over that shouldn’t have been. Also had to get some frame work done on floors upstairs because I was getting squeeks when walking and some uneven surfaces. That’s been fixed now but not some paint and trimming that was caused I’m still getting that done when they can. This home buying experience has been horrible and frustrating. The quality of workmanship has been poor. I have been in the house for almost 2 months. I’m on the third week of the kitchen island being rebuilt due to it not being level or square. I have a sink hole that keeps forming in the front yard. Some cabinets are cracked and need to be replaced. Plus a list of other issues. Contractors are not showing up to fix issues on days they are supposed to wasting my wife’s and I’s time. At this time I cannot recommend going with KB Homes.

Everything Excellent !! They are very responsible, attentive, answered all question we had and always we had communication. 100 recommended!!

Hime looks nice but I wouldn't recommend a family or friend to KB HOME. Materials are cheap.. only been a month had to call for maintenance at at least 10 tomes. Walls feel cheap, boiler/Hot water went out 3 times. New floors I payed for out of POCKET have stains, Carpet is not installed correctly. When we did walked threw didn't really pay attention or can notice any of this until moving in. They installed cabinets doors month later. For a new home has roaches, spiders i don't know how and lots of ANTS I mean a lot... First day move in. Just over all horrible. Plus paying so much for this? Yeah no.. not happy.. ... More

The builder is very good when you check each stages of the building process in your house, if you forget anything you paid for during upgrades you will not get it in your house as they have so many houses they are building at the same time. Overall if you let them know what you paid for, you will get it in your house.

Make sure you get the correct closing date, before you start transferring your Utilities and storage and the rent apartments that you are in at the time

PROS: The home seems fine and we're happy to be moved in. Most everyone was nice that we worked with. CONS: The building process was exhausting and painful. We were originally told it would be 6mo from initial contract, which turned into 1 year and 2mo. A lot of headache and frustration could have been avoided if there was good communication and expectation management. Unfortunately, last minute communication and delays led to mistrust and frustration. We had to extend our lease twice due to continued building delays and misestimated completion dates. KB generally "made it right" in the end but it was not without a lot of "fighting for what's right." One might blame it on COVID or material delays, which is understandable but the communication and projected completion of each stage was very poorly executed. Towards the end, we were pressured to close before the home was fully complete and that felt like a low blow just for KB to meet numbers for the month. Easy to read between the lines and not a good look. There was also poor communication b/t KB and their preferred lender. No one was on the same page for closing dates which made it nearly impossible to make an informed decision on when to lock a rate. We also had to change our closing date 4 times due to construction delays - a very poor use of everyones time and energy. In summary, the home seems good for the value but I would be prepared to have to stand up for what is right if you want things done right. Nothing happened fast and communication was lackluster. ... So if you're a 1st time homebuyer with no options, then this may be the right builder for you. Here's my process from beginning to end. Go into the sales office and take a look at the houses and decide if you want to buy or not. After that you get put on a waiting list where their mortgage officer takes at least a whole month to reach out to you after being told week after week from your sales rep that someone should be reaching out to you. Finally, the mortgage officer sees if you're qualified by giving you a ridiculous loan that sticks with you till closing day (so go with another lender). Then months go by before your sales rep finally reaches out to you to setup design studio appointments. The first appointment is virtual, so you'll have to go off your best guess if you want something or not based on pictures. Then second appointment is where you can see the material in your house in person; once all your choices, and you've paid up; you can't change anything. Even if they haven't started construction. Now the best part is the construction where you're excited to see how your house will turn out. You'll have to watch them build because they'll forget the things you've picked, so it's very important that you watch them closely. You get 2 reviews to see how far the house has come, and make suggestions/improvements. Now here comes to the closing process. Once you've signed off on your incomplete house (that they promise to fix); you get to close on it. After living in the house for 2 months you've come to find out that they won't fix the things they've promised to fix. For example, I've been out of a microwave for 2 months. Our family loves KB from Paul in Sales & Gloria in loans, but especially Darrin our Const. person who is still very responsive & this was even after closing. He made sure our home turned out beautiful even with the supply chain issues from the pandemic. We could not have done this without KB, but especially Darrin. Our family loves our KB home because Darrin made the process less overwhelming & so much more enjoyable because of his great knowledge & he treats you like family. Darrin is definitely a keeper & a great asset to the KB team & the community-the Canavati fam.

We had a great experience . Builder’s team always tried to help us with all the things that we needed, despite pandemic they always were and are open to help. We really appreciate their effort.

The Tx loan compared to NY was very frustrating and it took over 5 or more months before they denied me a loan and I had to start all over with a different company kept me anxiety extremely high for the whole tome

I am making the house into a home, but there are some things, mainly cosmetic, that should have been taken care of beforehand. The home has the potential to be great, but for right now, I can say that it is good. The sales team was amazing. The floor plan is awesome. I just feel that the "small stuff" was rushed and overlooked by whoever was to inspect it during the process.

Lack of communication, delays, poor quality control

A lot of amenities weren't fully adjusted. Some doorknobs have become loose and needed to be screwed back in, there are a lot of minor things that still have not been completed yet, like missing paint, broken cabinets, and response time to fixing these issues has been slow.

I've had a KB home before and was completely happy with it. This new home is beautiful and happy to be in it, although there are a few minor fixes that need to take place. I insisted on closing even though these fixes were incomplete. Still waiting on completion of these minor issues. Some electrical, paint work, etc. One very frustrating issue is trying to reach our HOA. I've called them several times, no one has ever called me back. I do not even know if I cam calling the correct HOA.

Several finished not done properly, a lot of delays n rescheduling to get things complete, house not complete by closing, took month after closing n a lot of chasing n following up to get things done. Still have things not completed
