Lennar - On-site customer service is great.

On-site customer service is great. If there are any issues, they are quick to fix them. Everything included makes life easier. The color that comes with the house is hideous, I wish they paint it all white so buyers can choose. I am happy with my decision to buy a house with Lennar.

Wrong Mail box keys

I am an investor and remote. I was impressed with ads of remote buying experience but my tenants keep finding issues with the house. Now, they don’t have the right mail box keys. I have opened the case, sent multiple emails but no on has responded yet. I don’t understand how we got the keys that are not for the house. Still waiting to hear back. I wasn’t expecting this from a new house. Earlier, we had issues with bathroom showers and kitchen electrical outlets

Mixed Experience with Lennar House Purchase

I recently bought a house from Lennar, and overall, the experience has been a mix of positives and negatives. Here is a detailed review of my homebuying journey: **Overall Homebuying Experience: ★★★☆☆** The house looks good, and I was initially pleased with my purchase. However, during the home orientation, I noticed several color spots around the house that were not properly addressed. This left a less-than-perfect first impression. **Quality of Workmanship & Materials: ★★☆☆☆** Unfortunately, the quality of workmanship and materials left much to be desired. During my move-in, my ...

There is no clear communication on who should we reach out to in case of any support required. Also, I was disappointed that support takes a long time to respond to any help.

Sales Team Lacking

On the building end of things, most things were fine. Construction was great to work and incredibly helpful. Of it weren’t for the helpfulness and caring of the construction team, I don’t know what we would have done. The same goes for the loan department. They were always there to answer questions and provide guidance. However, the sales team was far from the quality I expected. From day one, we were not treated kindly. Concerns and questions, if answered, were short and dismissive. When farther along in the process, an incredible lack of communication made the closing process beyond ...

I had a better experience with outside buys than with Lennar. I felt it was fine but wasn't great. I had higher expectations. I feel floor plan could have been better designed. They give zero options to modify anything. I feel their quality of features has decreased. They downgraded the materials they used in our neighborhood after few homes. They didn't include fridge anymore either. Also response time wasn't great for certain aspects of their mortgage and closing communication. Outside lenders, I had previously used had great communication and availability. I used lennar due to the closing ...

When I first reached out to Lennar, I was really excited about buying a Lennar home. Come to find out the whole buying process involved poor customer service with all communication by text or email and long waits for your questions and concerns to be answered. You will get phone calls when they need something but do not expect lennar to pick up your calls. The mortgage people sucks and will not communicate in a timely manner. We love the floor plan but most of the things in the home are standard and is what you see in the model home. You get what you pay for. The overall walk through was ...

My wife and i have had someone out to fix cabinets twice now. The first time the cabinet guy said that the quality of your cabinets was poor and the issue we were having was going to be a continuing thing. (Front face falling off). He fixed them but failed to do it correctly. So 2 weeks later we had another work request. This time before the job was even complete Elijah starts telling my wife that they will not be out to fix them again and there is nothing they will do anymore. Then the repair man discovered that they were not built right to begin with and he has supposedly fixed it now. ...

Not the best homebuying experience. Sales office was on the ball in getting answers and were enjoyable to work with. Quality of construction and finish work is mediocre at best. Mixing of finishes on plumbing and lighting fixtures and cabinet hardware was astounding. No apparent effort to coordinate!

Not what I expected given what I had heard in the past

There have been multiple issues with the home that have needed repair or to be addressed. Prior to closing customer care was very responsive. Since closing the responsiveness has gone significantly downhill. Also that I continue to find issues related to the quality of the craftsmanship of the home that demonstrate sloppiness in the building has been concerning. The insulation for noise and weather is great. The community is well taken care of.

Everything was good until the week of our close of escrow

First I would like to say that Tish was very helpful! We were scheduled to close escrow on Thursday 5/02/24. That has been our scheduled closing date for almost two months. Well that didn't happen. We didn't close escrow yesterday and we did not get and do not have access to our house as of this morning Friday 5/03. I had a lot of things scheduled for our house this morning that I had to scramble to reschedule. We signed all of our loan documents on Tuesday 5/01 and Lennar Title received our closing funds on Tuesday 5/01 as well. My wife and I are pretty easy going people and we both ...

We were promised the house would be cleaned before moving in. On the date of moving in, the house was dirty with dirt and debris all over the inside and outside of the house. When mentioned to the team, they just brushed it off. This was extremely unprofessional. I would like to recognize Rachel Klippenstein, she has always been helpful throughout the purchasing process.

Lennar - Loan officer wasn’t as thorough as I would have liked with answering

Loan officer wasn’t as thorough as I would have liked with answering questions and explaining things. I feel like it was assumed I knew and understood things as they were stated. The construction workers were gross. They left trash in the kitchen island after the quartz countertop had been installed. Beer cans were in cabinets when I went to look at the house prior to closing. Construction workers should be more professional and not drinking on the job especially when it comes to crafting the largest expense of most people’s lives.

Some cheap materials and corner-cutting is evident

  • James B.
  • Verified HomeBuyer

My biggest gripe so far is the quality of the paint and surface finishes both inside and out. The interior paint is a powder or chalk type paint, which CANNOT be cleaned. If your kids touch the walls, prepare to repaint. The drywall texturing was cheaply done and has many flaws and clumps in the material, which chip and flake off. I will say that Lennar was honest about this and warned me that they really do slap it together and cut costs on paint and finish. While i dont dispute the overall value and service, i would respect them more if they used better paint in a family home.

Lennar responded:
Hi James, thank you for sharing your comments about the materials and workmanship in your new home. We are sorry for any inconvenience you have experienced. Materials for the home is ok. Purchased a 2 story home and when walking on the second floor, you can hear the steps. Carpet is ok, needs more cushion. Moved in and needed some fixing such as air vent switches in the bathroom kept turning on for no reason, air ducks had major issues with air flow with some room having a lot of air and some having very little like the master bedroom. The dryer plug in the laundry room was broken. The roof had a leak and it’s been 3 weeks and it’s still not fixed. Issues between Lennar and the solar company. They are still trying to fix it. Had to get ...

I had to learn to move forward and make the best of things. Overall, I am happy with my new home now and the services now have been handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
