Delays cost me hundreds of thousands $

Lennar delayed the building because of the elevator. Well that delay caused a net increase on my Mortgage interest rate of over 2 points. Which is a lot. Lennar didn’t care. Lennar also cost me another $35k by playing games at closing and tried to delay me again and cost me even more.

Horrible sales tactics. Problems from beginning to end.

This was our first time buying new construction. We thought Lennar was best of the best and instead we encountered problem after problem during the entire process. Sales reps lie. model home, website, and documentation all advertise “everything included” then when you sign off on paperwork and close you find out not everything they said was included is included. They change it up and then tell you sorry you’re out of lucky. Nothing we can do. Lennar mortgage couldn’t get anything straight. Always asking for the same paperwork. Then sending us wrong numbers. Good starter home that is priced better than most other new construction in the area. But, upon closer inspection, there’s always small problems that aren’t major dealbreakers but always a nuance. Customer service is not much better. Online portal to submit requests, disjointed team that doesn’t communicate well with one another. Work orders that drag on for what seems like an eternity. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re able to find a good deal elsewhere.

Disappointed as to how unprofessionally Lennar handled the sale. What was stated and what was said were not correct. Extremely disappointing to keep getting feedback that this is not a custom home, so we need to expect this poor quality of work. Cracks in the tile and imperfect paintings and not aligned walls....first time buying a Lennar Home....maybe the last time too.....

Inconsistent Workmanship and Poor Responsiveness

Upon closer inspection it was clear that they rushed in building our home. There was still a layer of dust when we moved in; The builder stated they would pay to have a professional cleaner come in but this was never completed and the builder has become unresponsive to any requests. We have ended up deep cleaning most of the surfaces ourselves but discovered several faulty workmanship issues as we cleaned the house. Very poor communication from the Lennar loan team. Unresponsive to questions. My condo insurance coverage got canceled although Lennar insurance team sent me a confirmation enail of coverage. Still no response from loan agent.

The whole process with securing the loan and financing with Lennar was great and seamless. Once you get your keys and sign off on issues in your home you think will be fixed you hear nothing back. It’s like once Lennar got their money I was on my own. I put in three customer care requests and was “supposed to hear back in a week”. Well that was December 4th and today is January 10th. I have not received one phone call as to when these issues will be fixed. I even texted the rep who I did my customer care appointment with and I have heard nothing back. Honest experience as a first time home buyer. Lennar is only great front facing surface level. They sell you well and are responsive only in the selling phase. The second I paid my deposit and they secured my payment, they basically were unresponsive. We had to proof various documents - a lot of the info was wrong. I've talked with my new neighbors and we all agree that Lennar has the best home designs. Lennar floorplans and communities work really well for modern family life. They are in great locations with clever designs, efficient use of space, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, that's the only positive part of the experience. The sales and post sales experience is terrible suffering from a complete lack of communication, constant errors (or lies?), and a lack of follow through. Poor communication throughout the process. Failure of staff to communicate information and process things and respond to questions and queries in a timely manner if at all despite not even even financing the purchase. Poor complication at every level - sales, title, on site, etc….trying to get answers to anything during the process was someone kicking the can or passing the. Ucla to someone else who passed it to the next one and on and on. Also staff doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing or have the right information. Yup, overall just plain bad and glad it’s over.

Choice is theirs. But do not expect a lot. Quality might be lot lower than expectation of buyers. Everyone who saw my house felt sorry for me. And check their included GE appliances especially. Not even buyers choice but buyers will have to deal with the problem.

I would not buy a new home with Lennar again. I paid ~$950K for a house moving in Jun 2024 that vibrates so often during days and nights whenever there is big cars running on the main street, and the shaking becomes very strong (feel like 3-4 degree Earthquakes) whenever there is a train passing by the train track which is a few blocks away from my house. And the trains pass by 3 - 4 times per day, sometimes at late mid night which makes it worse. We have been so disappointed in the quality of our brand new home. We have only been here a little over a month and we have uneven floors, wood boring beetles, malfunctioning appliances, broken roof tiles, construction debris, and more. Every time we have Lennar come fix something, they either miss the appointment, show up with the wrong materials, or can't fix the issue.
