Buying a home with Lennar was a nightmare

My experience with Lennar was the worst I could have ever imagined. The Concierge person that I initially worked with never explained a process of a priority list which made us go into a contract on a house we were not 100% satisfied with, this house is on $3M+ price, corporate office was NO help, nobody cared about our concerns. I wrote emails to corporate hoping for some answers because the Concierge rep lied to us and corporate didn't care. Lennar doesn't care about its clients or their experience. Do Not buy from Lennar.

Lennar responded:

Worst customer service

Let's start with the most horrible home buying concierge Paula, she was extremely rude in all phases. The sales team took our 42K deposit which we were told will get refunded but later on, demanded the same amount from our 1031 exchange agent. The original deposit was never refunded instead got buried inside the loan. The 42,000 I was our hard cash, on top of the 306K down payment. They need agents to handle all situations, in this case, took out money and never wanted to resolve anything after.

Lennar responded:
Good afternoon Don, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear about the issues you faced with our home buying concierge and the handling of your deposit. Very bad experience over all.

If this time my options were more open I would not have bought from Lennar. All employees and associates are irresponsible and does business as if they didn’t want customers or wouldn’t do business ever again. Their knowledge was shocking in many instances lying to me. The craftsmanship and details of the build is way below bar. Over all very regretful experience. Would never recommend.

Terrible Quality Build, Terrible Quality Customer Service

We have been so disappointed in the quality of our brand new home. We have only been here a little over a month and we have uneven floors, wood boring beetles, malfunctioning appliances, broken roof tiles, construction debris, and more. Every time we have Lennar come fix something, they either miss the appointment, show up with the wrong materials, or can't fix the issue. It took them 4 tries to fix a single dented panel on the garage. 3 times to fix a small area of drywall. Moreover, they first try to tell us, we are mistaken and that it isn't an issue. We do not trust Lennar or our ...

Lennar responded:

New home but continuously vibrating, cracks visible after 2 months moving in with Lennar

I would not buy a new home with Lennar again. I paid ~$950K for a house moving in Jun 2024 that vibrates so often during days and nights whenever there is big cars running on the main street, and the shaking becomes very strong (feel like 3-4 degree Earthquakes) whenever there is a train passing by the train track which is a few blocks away from my house. And the trains pass by 3 - 4 times per day, sometimes at late mid night which makes it worse. My family had really bad times lacking of sleep and tried to get used to with the vibration and the shaking. The house also starts showing cracks ...

There were a lot of issues with communications. No one could get on the same page and they still dont even have my email updated. Pretty ridiculous considering the amount of money spent. The walls are paper thin and cheap insulation was used. I would not purchase a lennar home again.

Poor quality workmanship throughout our entire house and poor communication and followup. We moved in almost 2 months ago and some issues still have not been fixed/worked on. Will never recommend a Lennar home to anyone.

Choice is theirs. But do not expect a lot. Quality might be lot lower than expectation of buyers. Everyone who saw my house felt sorry for me. And check their included GE appliances especially. Not even buyers choice but buyers will have to deal with the problem.

Lennar responded:
Hello, we appreciate your review. We want to apologize for your poor experience with quality and complications with your appliances. If ever there is anything we can do to help, please don't hesitate to let us know at corporatecustomercare@lennar.com. - Lennar Customer Care
