Lennar Homebuyer Review

Our first homebuyer experience could have been much better had the sales team been much more responsive and kept us up to date on the status of the home. We missed out on the initial home we wanted due to the first sales person, Sheri, not responding to us in a timely manner. The sales person for the 2nd home, Corina, was very friendly once you were able to get ahold of her. After the contract was signed though, we only heard from her if we reached out several times with a question or concern. Even then, we sometimes had to reach out to other people to get an answer. Our closing date was ...

First day in the house someone (from the looks of things most likely one of the workers on site) stole all the arc fault breakers out of my panel. First day welsome to your new home. Afte approaching Lenar, I was given the "Sorry Charlie get lost" Not much of a warm welcome is it. I spent $1400 of my own money to replace all breakers and have an electrician come out on an emergency call sfter hours. I think Lenar could have done a little bit more....

Lennar should have paid me to project manage my new home, no one is accountable for anything

Had issues with the building team and the loan team that made the home buying process a living hell. There was not one sole person of contact on the building team that was responsible for communicating with me and getting issues pointed out at walkthroughs resolved. No one wants to do their job, no one is on quality control for the subcontractors, it’s been an absolute headache that has sucked all the joy out of being an owner of a brand new Lennar home, and I am moved in and still dealing with issues and can’t get an answer back on things. Several Lennar employees have told me “that’s not my ...

Low build quality, finding problems since day 1. A lot of relatively small issues but they build up and snowball. A lot of it can be avoided by putting in high quality work in the first place. Sales team and home rep are generally responsive but the same can't be said for their lender team.

Lennar responded:
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear you did not have a great experience with our lender team and that you have had to deal with small issues due to build quality.

Painful buying experience

While we are grateful to be in our new home, the purchasing experience was difficult and much more painful than it should have been. From the beginning, we were transparent with the sales agent, Mike, and we wanted to purchase in the community. Yet, we had to follow up with numerous emails and phone calls over a period of weeks to get the buyer's paperwork started. I'm convinced that the only reason his partner, Robyn, finally followed through is because they wanted to close the deal before the end of the calendar year. Despite not having been responsive themselves, they imposed fast ...

Wow, where do we start? When we actually stepped into the home, it was completely different than what we anticipated. One layout we received didn’t match on the AC units. We should have 2 and they insisted that we were only supposed to have 1 unit in a 2-story 3,000-square foot home. During the walkthrough process, some items were not completed and they still expected us to sign off as if they were completed. Very shady. We’ve been here about 6 weeks and have submitted multiple service tickets. It seems like we find a new issue every day. The communication between the loan ...

Lennar Home Buying Experience

I had a horrible experience with purchasing my Lennar home utilizing Lennar Financial for the offered perks. I wish I would've just used my own funding as originally planned. I had zero communication from Lennar Financial - Leslie Ramirez and my out of pocket projecting closing costs were $5,000 under projected which was a huge inconvenience for me. The structure/home itself is great. I wish the home sales consultants and Lennar Financial had better customer service. For these huge reasons, I would not recommend Lennar.

Lennar responded:

While we have found the home to be exactly what we were looking for the overall experience was a struggle. The lack of communication during the process was astounding. We were asked to provide the exact same information multiple times as if the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. Even to the point after signing the closing papers and in the process of moving, we did not know if we could have the "keys" to the new home that day. Fortunately at the end of the day everything worked out and we did get our dream home and look forward to many years to come.

Cheap builer

After many years of seeing Lennar home sites throughout California, my wife and I decided to purchase one. One of the things we saw on all signs was Lennar’s “ei” everything included. My experience is nothing is included. The level of “cheap” rings thru day after day. We’ve only closed escrow less than two months and are having issues. To be fair maybe this is common for all home builders to be somewhat cheap? I would not recommend Lennar to anyone, based on our experience.

Home buying and issues resolve

Home buying experience is below average compared to other builders. Issue resolving is worst possible. I have 2 lennar homes (one in Florida, and one in Jurupa Valley CA). Florida house is 2 year old and California house is 2 month old. Whenever I create a issue, computer system picks up my Florida home address and case automatically closes as it is out of warranty. Computer is not picking up new California address for issues, even if I enter it manually. So far I have very tough time in getting issues resolved and I do not know what to do. Hope someone picks up this issue and resolves it.

We just recently bought a home in Rosena Ranch from a Lennar community. Since we've moved in, we have had to call service quite a few times for issues that should not be happening in a new home. For example, our handrail on the stairs are already having separation from the wall. It is under warranty and will get fixed, but it is very inconvenient especially because the contractors have to schedule so far out. These things should not be happening in a new home. I don't know if I trust Lennar's workmanship. The backyard was done very cheaply as well and all the neighbors complain about the ...

We have had a really terrible experience with Lennar. This is our first home purchase, and we thought it would be simple and smooth being a new home. The sales office was mediocre. Pretty disorganized with only keeping track of things on paper. They weren't able to print stuff out with lot information for us, it had to be handwritten every time we asked about another lot. Next, the person who our walkthrough was not very straightforward with us. He rushed us through things, which caused us to be unable to mark a lot of things that needed to be redone. He pushed us to continue through the ...

I will not call this experience a pleasant one. Working level team is not at all sympathetic towards buyer. They don’t have problem solving / reducing mindset. From day one things didn’t go in a professional ways. They collected all information from my agent and later on denied to pay any commission. This list is very long . However the above point was completely unprofessional. Construction quality is also having question mark . I have submitted few complaints but one of them is most important. Hoping a good resolution.

Lennar is definitely a builder with multiple lawsuits against their name who will do anything to maximize their own profits, by building low quality products with no care whatsoever, like a lot of other builders. All I've seen is lies and fake marketing. Marketed this community as private and gated, while they sold our safety out to the city just to make more profits. One decent thing is the responsiveness of the staff.

Lennar should be more than a regular construction company, as one of the best or the best in the country. We bought a Model house, good and bad, good that come with some upgrades that we cant get in other regular house, now the bad part is some of the stuff that is not correct or damage ( you name it ) cant be fixed BECAUSE IS THE MODEL WE DONT DO , this is ridiculous excuse, we pay more almost 100k for the same house as the others and get used / old stuff ... lennar REP very bad attitude, I'm not recommend to anyone else.

We moved in to our home on August 29, 2023. From the time of the 1st walk through, it was a rough go. There were many things to be fixed which is to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the way things were handled. We were told we had to sign off on the home which acknowledged that everything was good. When we said we would not sign off without putting some type of comments stating the items needing to be fixed, we were told we can’t do that and if we didn’t sign, then escrow would not close on time.
