Weird buying experience

The people handling the loan took forever to respond, would not read emails I sent them before asking me for information, information which I clearly stated in the email I sent. Quality control seemed to miss an extremely crooked window, an EV charger that was installed upside down and with a connection that doesn’t work. No Lennar is stating they won’t pay for the adapter or fix the issue. I do not like I could not change the countertop or cabinets, I can’t believe a master bathroom is sold as a tub/shower combo without the option to change it. Didn’t like the very limited ...

When we talked to the new home consultant, it was great. He was very straight forward and answered all our questions. During the first walk through, there were no power so we couldn't test the electricity. The oven was not working; the main bath vent/fan was not working. They were reported and during the second walk through, the oven still was not working; the fan worked but it was out of commission within two days after we moved in. Issues came up rapidly. Light switches not working, oven was still not working, fan/vent was not working. After I reported them, they really took their time to ...

Would have liked to have been better informed during the whole process. Structural and design changes were made during the building process that I wish would have been shared with us. Issues addressed were not completed by final walk through. A month into ownership, we feel that some issues were forgotten about.

Problems keep popping up at this house. We’ve been here five months and I’ve put in probably 15 work orders. The builder slapped this house together without attention to detail or quality control.

Buying process was not horrible. Home has turned out to be built extremely poorly and needs lots of warranty work. Builder also decided to save money by not completing a retaining wall between the properties resulting in 15k in out of pocket expense to resolve eroding steep hill of dirt builder somehow got the city to sign off on. Stay away from Lennar if you want quality for your money.

We had nothing but radio silence and issues when we were actually going through the buying process with Lennar, however once we moved in, we were taken care of with nothing but white glove service. Anytime we had an issue, or had a repair needed, we were taken care of or fixed up within a week. Crazy to think they were the same company. If only everyone at Lennar operated like the on-site sales team. Thanks to George, Daniel and Klarissa!

Not the best experience with Lennar

My main point of issue with Lennar was their response times to emails, calls or texts. This especially goes to Tracy their salesperson, Julie in Finance and Lennar Title. Many errors on paperwork that took forever to fix. Once 5pm arrived, Tracy was nowhere to be found and when I finally moved in, no call, text or email to congratulate me from Tracy our salesperson. Every time I dealt with her, it was a job, albeit there were times she was great. Overall, Lennar was unorganized and left me out to dry quite often. I want to point out that Carlos in QA was a bright spot. He was very effective ...

We are glad to hear the positive support you received from Carlos after your purchase, and we hope to continue earning back your trust by providing a great homeowner experience moving forward.

Going through Lennar for the mortgage got a better rate, but their people have no common sense. Totally aggravating. Closing was ok. Terrible follow up on punch list items. No call backs. Been in for over a month and they have disappeared, but still building across the street. I would not buy from them again.

Bought a brand new home. A/C already needed fixed. Took 2 weeks to get done and the temperature outside was in the 90s. Also, two months in, we STILL don’t have access to a mail box. Two outlets have stopped working in the kitchen. Solar panels have still not been activated when they said they should be. Overall, disappointed in my overall experience of buying a half a million dollar home.

First of all, my last name is incorrect. Even in this email for review. I sent at least 10 email and had 5 phone calls over this issue. Half of my paperwork has the wrong name. Same with my dad‘s name, it’s spelled wrong. Even on closing date to sign the docs for the title we had to go a second time, even then it was wrong. So we signed them with the name spelled wrong. After the closing, I still get emails, requesting documents. Even now after 2 months. It’s very unprofessional and annoying. We want to enjoy our home but we have issues after issues. This is my 3rd Lennar home, and thank god ...

This is the 3rd new home I’ve purchased, but the first from Lennar. And while they did provide a very competitive closing deal package, the endless disclosures, the “have to do it the Lennar way or no-way” , the incompetency, broken promises or down right lies by some of the folks we worked with in the mortgage department, Sales team and warranty/customer service folks, never again. Decent House - Bumpy Home buying experience

  • Anonymous

The homebuying experience was rough. First, we were not allowed to use an agent, which made me feel at the mercy of Lennar when going through the process. Second, our home concierge was terrible. She would update us on the status of the house late in the night. On inspection day, the house was not ready and had to reschedule after we were already present at the appointment. Finally, they moved our closing date only a few days after were expected to close and put up a fight after we requested to close two days after the proposed closing date. The house is decent but the materials are cheap. ...

Lennar Homebuyer Review

Our first homebuyer experience could have been much better had the sales team been much more responsive and kept us up to date on the status of the home. We missed out on the initial home we wanted due to the first sales person, Sheri, not responding to us in a timely manner. The sales person for the 2nd home, Corina, was very friendly once you were able to get ahold of her. After the contract was signed though, we only heard from her if we reached out several times with a question or concern. Even then, we sometimes had to reach out to other people to get an answer. Our closing date was ...

I will not call this experience a pleasant one. Working level team is not at all sympathetic towards buyer. They don’t have problem solving / reducing mindset. From day one things didn’t go in a professional ways. They collected all information from my agent and later on denied to pay any commission. This list is very long . However the above point was completely unprofessional. Construction quality is also having question mark . I have submitted few complaints but one of them is most important. Hoping a good resolution.

Low build quality, finding problems since day 1. A lot of relatively small issues but they build up and snowball. A lot of it can be avoided by putting in high quality work in the first place. Sales team and home rep are generally responsive but the same can't be said for their lender team.

While we are grateful to be in our new home, the purchasing experience was difficult and much more painful than it should have been. From the beginning, we were transparent with the sales agent, Mike, and we wanted to purchase in the community. Yet, we had to follow up with numerous emails and phone calls over a period of weeks to get the buyer's paperwork started. I'm convinced that the only reason his partner, Robyn, finally followed through is because they wanted to close the deal before the end of the calendar year. Lennar is definitely a builder with multiple lawsuits against their name who will do anything to maximize their own profits, by building low quality products with no care whatsoever, like a lot of other builders. All I've seen is lies and fake marketing. Marketed this community as private and gated, while they sold our safety out to the city just to make more profits. Lennar should be more than a regular construction company, as one of the best or the best in the country. We bought a Model house, good and bad, good that come with some upgrades that we cant get in other regular house, now the bad part is some of the stuff that is not correct or damage ( you name it ) cant be fixed BECAUSE IS THE MODEL WE DONT DO , this is ridiculous excuse, we pay more almost 100k for the same house as the others and get used / old stuff ... lennar REP very bad attitude, I'm not recommend to anyone else.
